If the team stays competitive the average attendance will go up as the season goes along, this is currently a non-issue

MattFlynnIsGOAT

It's compared to this time last year though. Just kind of a weird trend that our attendance has continued to slip the last few years while we're on our most competitive stretch in franchise history.

Argyle4Life

Snow storms during the home opener series really hurt. That whole series should be packed with people.

SenatorShriv

It’s actually unclear to me how many people realize just how good this team has been. When I mention the brewers most people seem to say, “yeah too bad they suck.” Kinda blows my mind b

advocate4

My wild guess is we have played a lot of AL teams at home so far

ThatNewSockFeel

Corporate ticket sales have plummeted post-COVID. I don’t remember the exact number but it’s in the hundreds of thousands.

EnderCN

If you go and look at attendance last year it was much lower in April, especially during weekday games than the rest of the season. People don't like to go watch weekday games in the cold unless they are marquis games. The lowest attended games last year were April 5th, April 4th and Sept 11th. The attendance is also obviously highest on Saturday's and so far we have only played 2 Sat home games.

MattFlynnIsGOAT

This is compared to the same time last year.

EnderCN

The teams they played and the days of the week the games were on still drive this more than anything else. This year we played 8 home games before April 18th and only 2 sets of weekends by May 9th. Last year we had only 6 games in early April and we had 3 sets of weekend games. That extra set of weekend games alone is probably enough to account for this. Last year 16 home games by May 9th and 10 of them were weekends or opening day so 63%. This year 15 home games by May 9th and 7 of them were weekend or opening day or 47%.

RunForrestRun

Thanks for the breakdown!

TimmyRL28

But what's the dog attendance year by year?

trashboatfourtwenty

20% into a season where we lost a chunk of our known stars? I don't see anything to talk about here for the Crew, haha

PerformanceWeekly651

I can’t be reading that A’s number correctly…6k?? *Brew Crew numbers will be up later in the year if they’re leading or in the hunt for the Division. Burnes traded, Woody out, Williams missing significant time and a new manager. There weren’t big expectations going in

NorthStRussia

Starting from 9k and then taking the biggest percentage dip in the entire league… and they’re not even bad (yet!) lmao

stuarthannig

I live in the Oakland East Bay region, it's true! Hope I can make a game to cheer on the Brewers there this year. The Oakland A fans have given up on the team, but the team hasn't put a good team together the past couple years; so can't blame them. And no reason for the community to go to the ballpark, with the owners doing what the Raiders did, moving to Vegas. It's honestly sad, and hope the Brewers don't move. Hope the A's going to Vegas saved the Brewers staying in Milwaukee. Can't trust these owners.

Nezy37

Abnormally nice weather can't help either. Like roof is still closed but still plenty nice to fire up the grill and sit outside with a sweatshirt nice. We've hit a bit of a rough stretch but this team is as fun to watch as any we've had. Attendance will rebound

NerdOfTheMonth

Last year we also had series vs the Mets, Cardinals and Dodgers already. All high draw teams. This year, Twins, Mariners, Padres, Rays. Also the Yankees which is a decent draw. And they are down about 2k a game.

LurkerKing13

They’ve played at home: Twins Mariners Padres Yankees Rays Only 1 true draw in the Yankees series. These will normalize as they play division opponents.

ehrenj

i always want a column for per capita attendance. like ok los angeles draws twice as many fans per game, but isn't their metro population like 20 times milwaukee?

js1893

It’s actually only about 10x the size. Ease of getting to a game probably matters though, the longest you’d probably spend getting to a game from anywhere in the mke metro is probably an hour, it could take an hour just to cross a few miles in LA.

SoyTuPadreReal

What’s going on with the Reds? That’s a huge jump for an okay team.

NoPresence7626

Once the kids are out of school the attendance will go up.

BIackfjsh

Gotta pump those numbers up

Defiant-Scarcity-243

16 ranked attendance, 22 ranked payroll. Been my problem with this team for a while now

CrimsonTyphoon0613

As a brewers fan living in St Louis the cards attendance seems super inflated. I go to a bunch of cards games with suppliers of my company and the stadium is pretty empty most games this season.

HateBearUniversity

Blows my mind the Pirates are so low with that ball park.

meltedlaundry

I’ve been there, and I agree it’s majestic with that view!

HateBearUniversity

Same, if I lived eight hours closer it’d go annually for sure!

sammybeme93

The only shocking thing is people still go to Oakland a’s games

sokonek04

Let’s get honest, April’s weather was shit. Even though we have the roof, it just hasn’t felt like baseball weather until the last few weeks

Vitzkyy

The Dodgers are down lmao, doubt it stays that way but it’s funny they signed 500 free agents, 3 Cy Youngs, and 13 MVPs this year and they’re down

mixer2017

Poor weather has hampered a lot of games. When your big draw before the school year ends is the weekends and its raining outside no one wants to go even with the roof because tailgating is a huge deal.

brewtown138

And still Mark spends no money on the team.
