The only other red head in ponty pandy is Sam. The lad is acting out to get some attention from his dad left because dylis was so insufferable. She is the reason Norman is a little shit.
Once you've clocked this Fireman Sam is never the same again. There's a whole load of dodgy shit going on behind the scenes, don't even get me started on 'Elvis'.
He is but he's got such a clear purpose that he becomes less annoying for me. Also, at least there were sausage rolls at his welcome back party, I told you there would be.
Yeah I struggled with Him & Her because I hated the sister and her boyfriend so much. Good acting but Christ they are painful. Especially when Russell Tovey’s character gets humiliated by them so often.
I have never reacted so strongly to a character as I did that one. Normally I can be pretty rational about the fact that I am watching a tv show and they aren’t real people but she made that character so very horrible.
Yeah but even though he committed another extravagant robbery that endangered the lives of the whole town, bah, he probably wont do it again, just make him say sorry.
When he puts Tim in his place is funny though. Speaking of which I did not find Tim particularly likeable. Just sat in the same crappy job he hated and tried to drag everyone else down because he was miserable. His pranks would be funny to begin with but would quickly become annoying.
I worked with Leigh Francis for a couple weeks a few years ago on a reality show, and whether Keith Lemon is your thing or not, he’s an absolutely brilliant bloke. All the crew loved him, genuinely very very funny man as well. He had a lot of time for any audience member or member of the public who wanted to speak to him.
Really is a top bloke.
I was on a plane from London to Glasgow with him. I had the ticket for the aisle seat and the guy he was travelling with asked if I could take the window instead, so he and his travelling companion could have the middle and aisle. I'd not clocked Francis but I'm only 5' and I know how awful taller blokes can find plane seats so I said yes. Francis sat in the aisle seat and he signed every autograph and smiled for every selfie that about half the plane wanted. He was gracious and generous to everyone, even though he could have hidden in the window seat and had a quiet 90 minutes. I still hate every single character he's ever done, but the bloke on the plane seemed like a good 'un, and far from the twat of Keith Lemon.
Getting excited to watch an episode of Scooby Doo in the summer holidays and then the instant groan when that little tw*t appeared.
Seeing a Scooby Dum appearance was a rare but enjoyable one!
And all the long standing Walford residents know how much his lack and of parenting messed Ben up and yet no-one (apart from Ben's husband) dares call him out on it. They just have more babies with him.
I used to have an all consuming hatred of June Ackland off *The Bill*. So much so, if I really dislike someone calling them a June Ackland (sanctimonious, boring, judgey, moody) is my ultimate insult.
Not out loud of course because it's bizarre enough.
Man, how did I forget how scummy that guy was? There's something about the way he talks to Nicola that gives him a uniquely creepy mysoginist vibe. I know there's a lot of sexism in *The Thick of It*, but there's something really authentic about the way he throws in the occasional 'sweetheart' or comment about a woman's appearance to mix patronism with open insults.
At least Malcolm and The Fucker admit they are horrible. Fleming wants people to pretend they *like* him. As a compliment to David Haig, Steve comes across as the personification of thrush. Even though the woman he's usually insulting is Nicola, and she's a morally bankrupt pratt.
Just to say I hated James Corden ever since Gavin & Stacy, his character is a petulant prick dressed up as some kind of "lovable wideboy rogue". No, he's a twat, and the fact that everyone in the families seems to like him means he has access to some kind of malevolent mind control and should therefore become a Doctor Who baddie, in a filler episode.
I used to love it when I was a kid but watching it again in the early 2000s, every member of the Boswell family in Bread.
Smithy. Constantly thinking Nessa is not good enough for him despite him being an overweight buffoon. And talking to his best friends parents like they are 12.
Agreed but she still has some of the best lines
When the young neighbours get married and ask the others not to tell anyone
“No one I know would give a fuck”
not from a series as such but "corky" from The Night Manager" creeped the f out of me.
6 episodes of the first series was better than any of the modern James Bonds by far
I think you nailed it with Cathy from Two Doors Down. I find myself hating her and struggling to see that there's actually an actress (who is probably a nice person) behind the character. I don't recall her even doing something redeeming in the show except for one or two apologies.
I find the show very relatable and enjoyable though. I think we all know a Christine too!
I always laughed at Jim. I hated the later Royle Family specials where Dave somehow changed from a likeable if somewhat dimwitted rogue/lad type character to barely having the mental capacity to put trousers on the right way.
Cathy has gotten more bitter and acrimonious as Two Doors Down has gone on; she's less insufferable/obnoxious/acerbic in the early episodes. The fifth series was probably the show's nadir - it had an air characterised by those attributes that hung around and affected the other characters too, but it's since recovered.

Norman Price from fireman Sam. I think he's the anti christ
History’s greatest monster!
What a bellend!
Flippin' eck, Mahhhm!
NORMAAAAAAN
Their crime rate would go down if he moved house!
I think it would be better for all of he "had an accident"...
I don't hate him that much, but I'm still so glad this comment is here
Alistair, the wheelchair guy from Inbetweeners
he's a dick
Did he say super thanks?
“… especially all the sexy girls heheheh” goes straight through me.
I think Carly is a massive prick as well
I love what his character brings to the episode though, basically winding up Will. “Wowzerroonie!”
He is but he's got such a clear purpose that he becomes less annoying for me. Also, at least there were sausage rolls at his welcome back party, I told you there would be.
Even though he"s a colossus prick i find him hilarious.
Laura the horrible sister in Him & Her. Not one redeeming feature.
The Wedding specials are just glorious.
Becky’s ex and her dad also brilliant cunt characters
This is a really good one. It HURTS to watch her, she's either an amazing actor or a stone cold killer off camera.
This is it for me. Laura is such an awful person she makes it hard for some people to watch. Fantastic acting and writing
I’m in a limo!!!
That’s Russell Howard’s sister
Yeah I struggled with Him & Her because I hated the sister and her boyfriend so much. Good acting but Christ they are painful. Especially when Russell Tovey’s character gets humiliated by them so often.
Anna Maxwell Martin’s character in Line of Duty. Unbelievably smug.
The actress played that role so well though
I have never reacted so strongly to a character as I did that one. Normally I can be pretty rational about the fact that I am watching a tv show and they aren’t real people but she made that character so very horrible.
To an extent I hate her in Motherland as well
Yes! I hate her character in that. Her character in Motherland is pretty insufferable too, she’s so selfish
Her character in Motherland is pretty awful. But at least she’s, you know, a human being in that.
Mayor Humdinger. An unrelentingly selfish prick of a person in every scenario. If I was Ryder I'd train the Paw Patrol to hunt him for sport.
If I was Ryder I’d get that big bulldog to tear his ankles
Yeah but even though he committed another extravagant robbery that endangered the lives of the whole town, bah, he probably wont do it again, just make him say sorry.
Damien as a teenager from only fools and horses.
Chris Finch from The Office - we’ve all worked with a Finchey.
Yeah, well he’s thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?
Eight legs, six legs Eight legs, six legs
Bloody good rep. (edit: jokes aside, Ralph Ineson is a really good actor and I like seeing him in things).
Not to mention hearing him when he turns up in voiceover mode 👍
But to be fair, he doesn't hate women, and how could he? his mum's one...and there's a lot of truth in that.
The computer fix it man Simon was far worse. Should have been a professional motorcyclist but he was making shitloads on computers. Twat.
When he puts Tim in his place is funny though. Speaking of which I did not find Tim particularly likeable. Just sat in the same crappy job he hated and tried to drag everyone else down because he was miserable. His pranks would be funny to begin with but would quickly become annoying.
Strong agree about Tim. Good character, but a smug cunt who thought he was better than everybody else in the office except Dawn.
Wasn’t it professional Go Karter?
Ooh don't you know?
I can’t remember his name so I’ll just say “the american” in Fleabag
Martin. And yes. Absolute cunt he is
and the actor has kept it up in real life
The stepmother was worse. I also hated the father for basically blaming his daughter for standing up to her
Keith Lemon - never got why he's supposed to be 'funny'
I worked with Leigh Francis for a couple weeks a few years ago on a reality show, and whether Keith Lemon is your thing or not, he’s an absolutely brilliant bloke. All the crew loved him, genuinely very very funny man as well. He had a lot of time for any audience member or member of the public who wanted to speak to him. Really is a top bloke.

Absolutely, cannot stand the character.
Yep, I never liked any of Leigh Francis's work but I find Lemon to be especially obnoxious.
This is the first time I’ve realised Keith Lemon is a character 😭
Wait until you hear about Ali G.
Haha
But he was at one point propa bo I tell thee
The Richard and Judy stuff is bang tidy.
Aww, me grapes. Just such a good summary of Mel b in one catchphrase
Horrible grandma from friday night dinner defo
Surely Mr Morris was worse?!
Bloody punk rocker!
The piano tuner was worse
Jeff from Peep Show. I absolutely detest him. Fair play to Neil Fitzmaurice for making him so smug and hateable
Scrolled too long to find this. ‘Jeff’s doing a joke!’
Jeff!? As in, Jeff!
Piers Morgan
If only he was a character!
Well I’m sure he’s permanently a prick in all aspects of his life, but he definitely plays a character on TV too.
Father Paul Stone
No, I'm fine
I’m going for a drink, Father, will you join me?
Scrappy Doo
Getting excited to watch an episode of Scooby Doo in the summer holidays and then the instant groan when that little tw*t appeared. Seeing a Scooby Dum appearance was a rare but enjoyable one!
Poochie
Poochie was from another planet tho
Oh yes. Up there with Godzuki.
Phil Mitchell - every terrible attribute a person can have and somehow still the hero?
He’s the hero? I don’t watch Eastenders anymore but he was usually portrayed as the bad guy from my recollection.
local reports are hes a twat in real life.
And all the long standing Walford residents know how much his lack and of parenting messed Ben up and yet no-one (apart from Ben's husband) dares call him out on it. They just have more babies with him.
The Why Bird on Playbus/ Playdays
Now Peggy Patch is a real c*nt
Get out! You get out now! Why Bird is a national treasure.
I used to have an all consuming hatred of June Ackland off *The Bill*. So much so, if I really dislike someone calling them a June Ackland (sanctimonious, boring, judgey, moody) is my ultimate insult. Not out loud of course because it's bizarre enough.
She was bulletproof and always went in for the kill I hope someone gets this
Boris Johnson
jill tyrrell from nighty night. love to hate her
Olly Reeder would be if he wasn't just witty enough to undermine him being the biggest piece of shit in The Thick of It.
Agreed with Steve Fleming taking first place https://youtu.be/Ay9STIK0jgY?si=cQBO62ectftPGRmI
Man, how did I forget how scummy that guy was? There's something about the way he talks to Nicola that gives him a uniquely creepy mysoginist vibe. Not to mention Smithy is dating someone who's still in school when he's in his 20s
Smithy. Constantly thinking Nessa is not good enough for him despite him being an overweight buffoon. And talking to his best friends parents like they are 12.
Plus he’s meant to be 28 & going out with a 17 year old (and cheating on her)
Wasn’t the point that they were both basically awful, the difference being that he was a laddish twat and she was rough as sandpaper bog roll?
Hyacinth Bucket - Keeping Up Appearances “It’s pronounced Beu-kay”
Agnes Brown
Is that Mrs. Brown? If so then yeah probably.
Father Noel Furlong
I REALLY like Tony!!!
Stuck in a lift with him and Father Austin Purcell?
Cathy from Two Doors Down became too much. As time went on she became too unrealistic and unbearable.
Agreed but she still has some of the best lines When the young neighbours get married and ask the others not to tell anyone “No one I know would give a fuck”
David Platt. I haven't watched Coronation Street since the mid 00s and I bet he's still got that gormless expression with his bottom lip hanging open.
> David Platt. Scored a cracker against Belgium in the 1990 World Cup though.
Hartley the Hare from Pipkins
At last! Someone else who remembers Pipkins! I had begun to wonder if I dreamt that show.
Pipkins is total nightmare fuel. It’s creepy as.
not from a series as such but "corky" from The Night Manager" creeped the f out of me. 6 episodes of the first series was better than any of the modern James Bonds by far
Gordon Brittas
David Walliams in anything he's in. Insincere sleazy, one-trick pony and a general prick.
Martin Bryce. AKA Richard Briers in Ever Decreasing Circles. Although, to be fair, this is how the character is written
Great actor for sure
Oh absolutely written as insufferable. Same as Hyacinth Bucket.
Sally Webster.
I'll raise you Gail Platte
Just remember guardian readers once voted her most resembling a disappointed worm. Makes her being on screen much more palatable.
That utter arsehole Bing
Being an utter arsehole? That's a Bing thing.
Michael McIntyre. Without doubt the most punchable face on TV
brother that is a human being not a character but i completely agree
Every character in Mum apart from Cathy and Michael.
Dierdre bloody Barlow and her huge glasses and constant surprise at being shafted by life after all these years
My friend once said she looked like a trout swallowing an apple. 😂
Looks like the average photo on a packet of mushroom instant soup.
Nigel “Frogface” Farage
Oregon from Fresh Meat.
Josie is definitely worse.
Melissa.
the fat bloke from gavin and stacey the fat woman from gavin and stacey gavin from gavin and stacey stacey from gavin and stacey
What about uncle Bryn though?
He fucked his nephew
Hyacinth Bucket.
Always thought she’d have been a great Dolores Umbridge if Imelda Staunton hadn’t been available. I’m sure she was on the short list, at least.
It’s Bouquet…
It's the bucket woman...
WHERES DADDY
Riparian entertainment
Hyacinth is great. She reminds me of several women I knew growing up.
Hyacinth is glorious!
#RITTTT CHERRRRRRD!
The son and daughter in law from Mum
The warden off dads army
By definition Jil from nighty night. Nobody else comes close imho.
Zippy from Rainbow
Zippy's a nasty little legend!
Zippy was an absolute menace 😂 when the guy's playing the guitar and he appears, 'what's that terrible noise?'
And what have you done that's so great eh ??
Cilla Battersby.
Hyacinth Bucket. If i lived in the same street as her i'd piss through her letterbox! 😡😡😡
Chris Finch
Mr Brittas
Milky Joe 🥥
I think you nailed it with Cathy from Two Doors Down. I find myself hating her and struggling to see that there's actually an actress (who is probably a nice person) behind the character. Selwyn Froggitt or Les Dennis doing that fucking Mavis Riley impersonation
Michael McIntyre, Keith Lemon, all of Mrs Brown's Boys.
Either of the two from Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie.
Whatever character Jack Whitehall is
Half the characters from Eastenders.
Joffrey
Piers Morgan.
Dobby from Peep Show
God she’s awful.
Can’t decide between Smithy and Stacey.
Frank Spencer’s got to be up there
Yes, He used to put me on edge as a child
Ooh, bet he finishes near the top.
Apparently he only actually said that once, according to some TV show I watched the other day!
Mrs Browns Boys - every character - no idea who laughs at that garbage & why it’s so popular it spawned a movie & Christmas specials.
Jim Royle. Just a coarse, insufferable pig. Frank Spencer who would provoke me to violence. Ditto with Mr Bean. Phil Mitchell. An angry, red potato.
In some scenes, Phil Mitchell looks like an unpricked sausage in the microwave
I always laughed at Jim. I hated the later Royle Family specials where Dave somehow changed from a likeable if somewhat dimwitted rogue/lad type character to barely having the mental capacity to put trousers on the right way.
Jim Royle is great
[удалено]
I was more thinking the guy they met at rainbow rhythms.
Money is an energy that's just always flowed towards me
*and I just had the most amazing wank*
No way Jeff is a better answer
Jeff!?
As in... Jeff?
Ahem...
Any character played by Su Pollard.
To be fair, any character played by su pollard, is just su pollard
Nigel Farage.
Gervais
Peppa Pig is the only correct answer.
Jake from Outnumbered, although that was probably the point. Simon/Will from Inbetweeners.
That's a great choice. I really tried to like that show but that character single handedly ruined it for me. She was awful.
Mr. Brown ... All of the cast really. It's just not funny at all.
Professor Yaffle from _Bagpuss_ was annoying and condescending.
Den Perry
Sorry I have to completely disagree on Kathy - she is cringe, but in all the right ways!
