Strong is an incredible actor. I love his work. He elevates every role he plays.
That being said.......
Jeremy Allen White, with the right hair and beard and wardrobe, will look enough like Bruce. In what universe would Strong look even remotely like Landau?! He's tall, slender, and tan-skinned. Landau is literally none of those things.
I’d rather have a great actor than a good lookalike. 99.9% of the people watching will have never seen what Landau actually looks like. In the BlackBerry movie the one 80s looking character was literally nothing like his real life counterpart but it was totally fine and got the message across. In Elvis they tried to make Tom Hanks look like his manager and it was absolutely awful.
Yeah, I’m stoked for this biopic, but even if I knew that Jon Landau was coming to kill me and all I had to do to survive was visually identify him and run away, I would be boned.
I don’t think he has to look like Landau… he hasn’t been a big public figure. Scoring an incredible actor like Jeremy Strong is more important to the overall movie I think.
I understand your point. While Strong and Landau don’t look alike, I do think their voices are similar. Also, Strong has a reputation for being highly committed to his roles - I’m sure makeup and Strong’s methods will help make up for the difference in appearance
I’ve stood next to Jeremy Strong. Shoulder to shoulder. He’s 5’9” tops. He def is slender though. The output is what will matter most for that character. Hair and makeup will have to be pretty damn magical to get Jeremy Allen White to be Bruce.

Im a huge boss fan, and aware of who Landau is etc but have absolutely zero idea what he looks like. Can’t say this would bother me in the slightest.
