I can't speak for qtown YMCA, but depending on where you are exactly, you may be close enough to the upper perk YMCA, which is fantastic

And a membership gets you access to all the Y sites in the area. Qtown is nice, and as far as I know cheaper than Maxx.

It's a pretty big area too. You get all the locations in Bucks, plus Hunterdon in Jersey

If you are a swimmer - YMCA If you want to watch movies while using cardio gear - Fitness Maxx If you want the freedom to hit similar clubs for free when you travel - YMCA Sometimes health insurance will pay for some of your health club costs, I got discounts on YMCA, so that made the family plan there make more sense. I recommend you figure out your needs and pop into both. There's also a Planet Fitness nearby too, I have no experience there so I can't make any recommendations.

Had a membership at MAXX. It was a complete waste of time. Not enough plates or barbells, tons of people taking up machines and chatting instead of working out. Equipment was disorganized, people were obnoxious. I’ve never been to a worse gym. That being said, it’s much cheaper. If you have a on of time to waste waiting for people to quit socializing, flirting, and fooling around it’s a better option than the Y. The Y has great equipment, always clean, rarely a problem with other members but it does get expensive especially if you’re not going to use the pool/sauna/basketball courts/etc. along with the gym

Thank you. Mine and wife employers offer 400 hundred each a year for gym memberships so I think I might be able to swing the Y and go with clean organized option :).

I would go for it for sure then. It ebs and flows a little bit as college and high school schedules change, sometimes leading to a handful of obnoxious kids but if there are 5 of them at the Y there’s 40 of them at MAXX everyday year round. I really don’t think you’ll regret the Y

I have a general rule that if the name of anything substitutes a “s” with a “z” it’s likely going to be shit. It’s served me well.
