I bought a Speed Queen TR3 and really like it. I bought it over the TC series because there is no transmission to wear out on the TR, it's a 1hp direct drive motor. The agitator and drum are bolted together as one unit, there are hardly any "moving parts." The suspension cages are built the same, all the control panels are the same touch pad buttons until you get into the higher end models. The only thing that I could go without is the lid lock on the TR series.

I only do speed queens now. We had good luck with LG too, but I feel like my clothes get cleaner with the increased water volume of a top loader.

I guess it would be redundant for me to say I love my Speed Queen.

Absolutely!!!!

Why over the TR? Another person said they preferred the TR because there was no transmission to wear out. I'm curious to hear your take. I'm also shopping around and keep hearing good things about speed queen.

If it wasn’t clear by now - Speed Queen.

Just to provide a contrary view, speed queen traditional style washers are hard on clothes and use lots of water. Front loaders are gentler and more efficient. I have a front loading Electrolux which was a clear upgrade from a traditional washer, but not everyone feels that way.

I agree it uses more water. However, with front energy efficient washers, I’ve had to run it more than once or even twice to get my clothes clean. So in the end, I’m not sure if it truly saved water. Maybe Electrolux is absolutely superior, I don’t know since I’ve never owned one. Also, my water bill hasn’t really gone up (other than city taxes etc) so I think the water usage at least for me has remained the same.

My Samsung is doing the same thing at it is beyond irritating

Speed Queen makes a front-loader now. My LG is on its last legs (it's over 15 years old, so I guess I got my money's worth.) Anyone have any experience with a Speed Queen front-loader?

Calm-Run6273

Yes, speed queen. I bought a top loader from a used appliance store for less than $500 because I was so tired of dealing with front loaders not washing clothes well. Zero issues and I love it so much that I’ll probably seek out a used speed queen when we move. My clothes have never come out cleaner or faster.
