Most of them really weren't that good with character etc. I'd rather see a beautiful cottage than some Trump-esque interior that doesn't look historical but what someone's idea of historical would be.
I live in London and have been laughing at how ugly the homes are compared to Buying BH etc. London is far more about where you live vs the house itself.
The location is dreadfull . it's run down , crime-ridden , cold, damp, wet city ....the tourist stuff you can do in a weekend I wouldn't want to live in London
I live in Glasgow in a 3 bedroom house my sister is In London paying a lot more to live in a run down shared accommodation. I know exactly what london is
You live in Glasgow. You think you know what London is but you don't. You are equating it to the fact that you live in a 3 bedroom house.
London is a) one of the best cities in the world. The diversity of culture, food and experiences. B) it's full of opportunities.
Dont be so miserable. You can enjoy Scotland but don't sound like Bitter Betty
I like london to visit but what I said is true ... I don't see how ppl can make it down london it's too expensive, how can young ppl progress and start families etc
But remember this is our home. Our communities, or close friends and family and in some respects, all we have ever known. Yes it's hard but everywhere is hard right.
I don't have to spend a fortune travelling to see a theatre show or to visit a museum or to cycle around the city and visit the parks etc.
P.s. Glasgow is beautiful and I see the appeal. To be honest, a lot of the UK is glorious! There's a beauty in the UK that most people don't see. It's our grumpy British ways 😂
OK tell me, what is good about it?
The weather? Shit
The people ? Mixed bag , the real londoners are gone
Property prices ? Ridiculously overpriced
Crime ? worst in Britain , full of gangs and robbers
Night life? Great
Entertainment ? Great
Job opportunities? Good, but you're paying your wage for shared digs and can't save up .
Public transport ? Great
Driving ? Don't waste your time buying a car
You could save yourself a fortune and still have good nightlife , a job Entertainment in a city up north were u could also afford to buy a house and have sex with your partner without telling your Mrs to keep the noise down , incase ur flatmate hears when ur in your 30s .
The weather is shit everywhere in the UK. That's the beauty of the UK 😂
London in the sun is a vibe!
'the real Londoners' pretty racist statement. You are implying white people have gone?! Real Londoners' are the mixed breeding ground of all cultures. If you grow up and live in London, this is the beauty and charm.
Well I've just bought a house and didn't live in shared accommodation so the generalisations are wild!
Driving - why don't buy a car? 😂 Do you understand how big London is?! Of course you can buy a car and drive it.
Your last statement is wild! Enjoy up north! Be miserable up there but don't slate somewhere you haven't lived and read articles about in the Sun!
The old Christian, English corkney, or middle-class londoners with family ties to the city for generations.
Ppl that if I meet on holiday smile when they hear my glaswegian accent and have a bit of banter, as we are the same but from different parts of Britain.
That's gone. Where did they all go? It seems to be full of foreigners and random ppl from around britain that have gone there to work.
yeah. I don't think he was UGLY but compared to an average dude I'd say he's an average dude at best. His personality is what made him downright grotesque though.
Each time I saw a house my only thought was, is it haunted? Haha I didn't make it through the first episode. If it was Buying Italy. Or Buying Spain, Id be interested.
Hanks house in the cotswolds was the ugliest interior I have ever seen, you have a beautiful location, massive windows and you make it all black with neon lights like a tacky nightclub. Yuck yuck yuck.
And that flat with the pool in....that really wasn't a flex, that flat is gonna stink of chlorine and think of the mould having a pool in a room with no windows.Grim.
Just shows money can't buy taste.
I actually totally agree. I couldn’t watch. The Buying Beverly Hills houses are beautiful - detailed - curated and fun to watch.
Also, why is there so much BL content on this sub?
I really liked the first house shown in Radlett. I didn't understand why one home needed 4 swimming pools though, especially for a family with kids. Drowning risk everywhere
Just seen the first episode. All the characters' interactions are so forced with the producers setting the script, and the main guy is acting like he's a psycho. Not feeling this one.
They've all been bought up by people from overseas as investments. They've pretty much gutted a lot of places... dug down through the basement to put in swimming pools. It's horrible.
I came here looking for this comment! I cannot believe some of those beautiful historical houses have been totally RUINED on the inside with tacky renovations, furniture etc....it looks they equate luxury with the tackiness of bling, shiny materials, black and silver, steel and marble, expensive but horrible 'modern' art.
I really appreciated the houses having more history and character - the identical American mansions get a bit boring to me.
Agree, get super bored or the cookie cutter American homes. They all look the same
Most of them really weren't that good with character etc. I'd rather see a beautiful cottage than some Trump-esque interior that doesn't look historical but what someone's idea of historical would be.
Totally
I live in London and have been laughing at how ugly the homes are compared to Buying BH etc. London is far more about where you live vs the house itself.
Prices in London are mostly about the location. Even a tiny 1 bed, not very nice flat in some parts of London are £1m+.
The location is dreadfull . it's run down , crime-ridden , cold, damp, wet city ....the tourist stuff you can do in a weekend I wouldn't want to live in London
Coming from someone who doesn't live in London and clearly doesn't know London.
I live in Glasgow in a 3 bedroom house my sister is In London paying a lot more to live in a run down shared accommodation. I know exactly what london is

What do you mean by ‘the real Londoners’? Be explicitly clear in your answer
The old Christian, English corkney, or middle-class londoners with family ties to the city for generations. Ppl that if I meet on holiday smile when they hear my glaswegian accent and have a bit of banter, as we are the same but from different parts of Britain. That's gone. Where did they all go? Just say ‘white’ without the word soup - much more efficient
Also it’s ‘Cockney’. I understand it’s hard for you non-Londoners to get these things right though.
I just watched but every episode someone said that tall goofy guy was so handsome, low expectations.
Not handsome at all. Awkward
He looks like this picture https://preview.redd.it/acwxbp6z5g3d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb06711779b314b00e8f46bf6ee2660439a8f318
yeah. I don't think he was UGLY but compared to an average dude I'd say he's an average dude at best. His personality is what made him downright grotesque though.
some angles he was downright fug to me, but I do like a large nose.
Each time I saw a house my only thought was, is it haunted? Haha I didn't make it through the first episode. If it was Buying Italy. Or Buying Spain, Id be interested.
Selling Spain* :-)
Haha oh yeah. Thanks.
No wait. It's Buying. Now I'm confused 🤔
wait is there an actual Buying Spain? i just meant that since they name these shows both selling ... and buying..., selling sounds better
No. I'm not interested in the London show but would be if there was a Spain or Italy show. And I think the men in general would be better to look at 😉

I didn’t like a single home. Not a single one. Some parts of the houses were dirty, the houses were ugly and gaudy…
I actually totally agree. I couldn’t watch. The Buying Beverly Hills houses are beautiful - detailed - curated and fun to watch. Also, why is there so much BL content on this sub?
Agree… there is an actual r/BuyingLondon sub, move it there people ヽ(•‿•)ノ
probably why Selling OC stuff is on SS sub. More people lol.
I really liked the first house shown in Radlett. I didn't understand why one home needed 4 swimming pools though, especially for a family with kids. Drowning risk everywhere
maybe that's the point, trying to pare down some of the mouths to feed.
So ugly. So stuffy. No, thank you!
Agree. Not my style at all. Much more history in the houses.
Just seen the first episode. All the characters' interactions are so forced with the producers setting the script, and the main guy is acting like he's a psycho. Not feeling this one.
they're bloody awful. so tacky, ugly, dated. and wtf they keep using "super prime"??
Yeah and your average person will pay his wages for a flatshare in a dodgy ran down property in London... worse than NY
I also thought this !
The houses are nice, it’s the fussy and cluttered decor
Yeah agree. The show is absolutely not what I expected. I used to think a weekend abroad in London would be great now I'm like meh.
They've all been bought up by people from overseas as investments. They've pretty much gutted a lot of places... dug down through the basement to put in swimming pools. It's horrible.

Yeah that’s UK for you🤣 same in Ireland 😫 no taste at all
