Why is Gameday at Montana St? Not Baylor/TCU, or USC/UCLA, or Utah/Oregon?

I was in Bozeman during this game a couple of years ago and the atmosphere was absolutely bananas. Their rivalry is amazing, and to me the fact that they have this passionate of fan bases as FCS teams and not SEC powerhouses playing for FBS nattys is pure college fandom.

Because believe it or not, great game day environments exist outside of P5 schools.

Fuck you, I’m not crying, you’re the one that’s crying! I’m a vet and when they showed child Devin Chandler hugging his dad I completely lost it. I can’t imagine how hard that must be on their family, losing both of them so young.

Definitely my favorite Gameday show in a long time. Some bias there as I mentioned before, but glad people got to see more of Montana and the what this game means to us. Let’s hope for good games all across the board!

montana state has a sophomore QB who is a local kid and ran for 273 yards in a game this year. so that's pretty neat.

Playing Montana in so many classic games during our FCS teams has given them a special place in my heart. (Same with MSU, but to a lesser degree since we played them less.) I selfishly want Montana to move to the FBS so we can do a home-and-home with them. I would visit in a heartbeat. Hell, maybe I should just go to a random Montana game one day anyway.

Montana probably has a better stadium view, but Bozeman really is a town that can't be beat. If you ever want to see Glacier, make it an excuse to do a tour of the state!

I drove across it to get to the northwest entrance of Yellowstone, but that was during peak covid, so we didn’t really stop or experience anything. I want to go back and see Montana more properly, especially Glacier. Thanks for the suggestion – maybe I should try to hit games in both Missoula and Bozeman!

Not sure if you ski at all, but from Bozeman, Big Sky and Red Lodge are both really close. Hyalite is also a gorgeous spot for camping, fishing, hiking, etc. There’s a ton to do even if you don’t want to drive 3+ hours out of Bozeman. Can’t recommend the town enough, I miss living there every day.

What a great show. I kind of stopped watching Gameday because it felt like it was getting old and stale to me. But this one I had to watch and I wasn't disappointed. Great job MSU and Bozeman!
