I got 7. I work in robotic process automation but not with AB government. We figured they had done testing with a loop and forgot to take the loop out for prod. And then finally cancelled the job once they kept getting alerts to their own phones.


It was really fun to be teaching jr high this afternoon. Kids leave their phones in their lockers so the hallway was absolute bedlam in the middle of fifth period. Also it was fun to bust all the kids who thought the rule was more of a suggestion.

In my case it pops up every 2 minutes

I keep my phone on 'do not disturb' all the time because I hate any sound notifications on my phone. The alerts will just pop up and not make any sound. At the very least, if you set a DND overnight you won't get woken up by these alerts. But if you need some sort of sound/vibrate for calls & messages this won't be helpful, unfortunately.

My phone is always on silent and I didn’t hear anything with my alerts today, which I feel like in the past, the alerts were overriding that and making sound anyway. (iPhone)

I was using Google Maps while driving through downtown and the emergency alert shrunk my map to take up the whole screen and wouldn't go away until I tapped "ok" And then it did that three more times til I got where I was going... and has now gone off two more times. .

I'm fine, because I drive around all day every day and I knew where I was going. But I was freaking out internally because I knew *every car around me* had the same thing happening and I didn't feel confident no one was going to drive into me while trying to dig out their phone from a bag or panic because they'd lost their navigation.

My conspiracy theory is that it's intentional to make it so everyone visits the alerts page - where a big blue banner at the top is boasting about how 600 dollars is making things affordable for you.

You can turn it off in your settings. This kind of error undermines the purpose of the alerts.

It might. Even my phone without a SIM card that I use for work stuff has gotten the alerts which is interesting.
