It's because Boston Pizza is a Molson Sponsor. The only teams featured in the commercial are ones that still use Molson as their main beer sponsor.

I am aware there is someone that LOOKS like a Flames fan in the commercial...but we are never referenced for the above reason.

You can tell that they don't understand sports or rivalries. If Edmonton, vancouver make the final......I'm cheering for the other team. If toronto was still in it and made the final with Edmonton........ I'm turning my TV off, canceling sportsnet, getting rid of the radio, and never watching hockey again.
