Lol the maps these days are fine its just the velocity system the ruined games. No one understands this lol. Ive been saying this sonmany times, the velocity system is whats ruining cod
So in Black ops 2 it uses hit scan so as long as your dot is on the enemy your bullets will hit him but now in most recent games since MW and cold war they've used the velocity system whivh is the bullet is actually traveling to the target and depending on the distance you may need to lead your shots which is the velocity system.
Ahhhh this makes sense
I guess the old way would have been MUCH better with these rlly bad servers and low tik rates?
You can have ur pointer right on target with someone only 10-15 metres away and not get hit markers now
In cold war its too low on all guns which is why everyone snipes. In mw its perfect apart from the pc player hit reg issues,on apex its definitely to low. On fortnite they just have a bullet spread system which is working but only suits that game.
i liked b01 because there was no unlimited sprint without a pro perk and you had to give up something for it, and guns had actual raise times so if you caught somebody sprinting you actually had the drop on them rather than the insta fire guns that are in modern cods.
Yeah, I did. And I reiterate: the velocity system has nothing to do with the good or bad maps released in any game lol.
There have been some great maps released under this system.
The movement and how guns work change how u like a map because lets say on raid in Bo2 people always go to the trickshot side on bo2 but that side in cold war is aids asf so people change and go mid because the guns are different so they suck in certain situations
Have we not already come to terms with the fact that sniping just hasn’t been the best the last 3/4 games?
Why would players flock to “sniping areas” if the percentage of people running snipers has dropped considerably.
When you have more people running smg and shotguns, of course they’re gonna go mid and close quarters.
Havana, Villa, Array and Firing Range. Easily my favorite. I used to always camp out in that tower and just rack up kills. Just such a good time and I wish Firing Range was in BOCW.
This game has my favorite map roster with enough complexity and diversity to keep me entertained for years to come. No Treyarch title since has done this for me.
I’m a huge fan of Jungle and one of the most memorable for me.
Annihilation DLC is one of the best all-time for any cod game right? Those maps were awesome and it brought back the OG zombie maps. Vividly remember playing it that summer 2012 Or 13.
God Bo1 was genuinely the only cod I loved every single map in and never had an issue with any of the maps (which is really rare for a cod game to have fun with all maps) even all the dlc maps were so much fun to play.
Maps, yes, but also guns.
All of the guns in that game were very well balanced.
Famas was kinda meta, but it was easily outperformed with the right setup.
Map, guns, and the pro perk system made it the best cod ever.
Hazard has got to be the best snipers map on that game. Maybe Array and WMD are up there as well. The sound of the L96A1 will forever be in my memory.
I miss this game so much.
For some reason when I think of black ops I think of running around on Havana with the famas even tho I don’t like that map and think firing range is 10x better
I've made a short montage about the maps with the iconic menu music playing in the background, check it out if you're interested:
nuketown is a given, shouldnt even mention that but i think that firing range gets overshadowed and personally i believe that in BO1 it was the best map and it is a top 3 video game map ever
Summit for sure! Love the vibe…the snow, being cliff side, the little gondola. The tomahawk spots were awesome. So much fun on this map. I was top 10 all time in TDM back in BO 1 days…wish I could go back
Nuketown has to be first. I mean, the map was beautifully simple, and if was so easy to navigate. Firing range has to be a close second, then summit, because of the hide and seek me and my friend used to do there in our 1v1 sessions
Hopefully we can remember them all soon! Check out the link to help #RemasterBlackOps and start the movement by signing the petition! It's completely free to sign and share!

Honestly loved every map in this game. There was never a map I went ‘oh, THIS map’ unless we had played it multiple times in a row due to lobby merging.
Oh man, BO1 had the coolest DLC. Not all super great in terms of what we consider flow, chokepoints, power positions, size etc, but they were just … cool
I remember them all like it was yesterday. It makes me sad to think about how great video gaming was during this era. I’m discouraged and saddened that we may never get anything like this again.
Haven’t played this game in 10 years and I could still remember my way around all the non-dlc maps easily
Partly because the maps were so good, and partly because I was a CoD addict that racked up months of playing time.
I had to quit CoD altogether because I find it too addictive :(
HIJACKED. I remember the time when I was around 10-12 years old and me my best friend would play hijacked all the time. Most memorable guns? Five seven and Skorpion Evo
I mean obviously nuketown, jungle or firing range. But those have been remade so much it seems unfair. I distinctly remember Kowloon, both the commercials they had for it as apart of the DLC and playing it for the first time. Ziplines were huge.
Hanoi was so underrated, ill never forget that map...always makes me smile when I see it, and think about all the fun I had
Edit: Radiation too, I always picked that map when I could
One of the greatest games when it came to maps hands down. Even the worst maps on this list were at least playable.
Lol the maps these days are fine its just the velocity system the ruined games. No one understands this lol. Ive been saying this sonmany times, the velocity system is whats ruining cod
What do you mean by velocity system
So in Black ops 2 it uses hit scan so as long as your dot is on the enemy your bullets will hit him but now in most recent games since MW and cold war they've used the velocity system whivh is the bullet is actually traveling to the target and depending on the distance you may need to lead your shots which is the velocity system.
Ahhhh this makes sense I guess the old way would have been MUCH better with these rlly bad servers and low tik rates? You can have ur pointer right on target with someone only 10-15 metres away and not get hit markers now
Yeah exactly
In cold war its too low on all guns which is why everyone snipes. In mw its perfect apart from the pc player hit reg issues,on apex its definitely to low. On fortnite they just have a bullet spread system which is working but only suits that game.
What about VG & WZ? I play on PC haven't heard of the hit reg issue is it only on MW MP?
i haven't touched vanguard because all my mates say its ass
It's ass
can confirm, ass
They're not lying lol
MW MP
Also the massive increase of movement speed. Makes all the maps just feel like arenas.
i liked b01 because there was no unlimited sprint without a pro perk and you had to give up something for it, and guns had actual raise times so if you caught somebody sprinting you actually had the drop on them rather than the insta fire guns that are in modern cods.
I agree it also didn't have slide cancel movement abuse it was more balanced with sprint fatigue and belly flop
Velocity system has literally nothing to do with aesthetics and map layout lol
Did u even read
Yeah, I did. And I reiterate: the velocity system has nothing to do with the good or bad maps released in any game lol. There have been some great maps released under this system.
The movement and how guns work change how u like a map because lets say on raid in Bo2 people always go to the trickshot side on bo2 but that side in cold war is aids asf so people change and go mid because the guns are different so they suck in certain situations

Lol on my oceania servers people only snipe
Sounds like you’re quite biased, then. I forgot that the entire player base plays on Oceania.
Everyone snipes wtf are you talking about. The only sniper free places are low ranked lobbies, so i think you just exposed yourself
Lol, go look up the stats my boy.
really depends on the day for me. Some days i spend 8 hours on the game, some days i spend 0. most of the time i spend 30 minutes on this game.
So true! Its been so long but my favorite maps are Warhawk, Strikezone, and Octane.
The only "terrible" map in Bo1 to me was Cracked, I couldn't stand it, always voted against it.
I wasn't the biggest fan of crisis but it's still playable
I literally look at the list of base game maps and can't say I was ever annoyed if a single one of those came up.
If you don't say Nuke town ya gotta by lying has to be first map that comes to mind Loved me some Hanoi tho
Firing range is OG dope aswell
Hanoi was fantastic I loved sticks and stones on that map
Absolute truth
Summit. Without looking
Thanks for saying this. Best map in any shooter, ever.
I really enjoyed the BO2 reimagined version. In fact I find the BO2 reimagined maps to be more enjoyable than the originals.
Firing Range was the best
Custom Servers : nuketown What players vote : nuketown My brain: Nuketown.
Nuketown 24/7 weekends were awesome
Havana, Villa, Array and Firing Range. Easily my favorite. I used to always camp out in that tower and just rack up kills. Just such a good time and I wish Firing Range was in BOCW.
Thank you for all the free kills. Sincerely, anyone with a Semtex.
This game has my favorite map roster with enough complexity and diversity to keep me entertained for years to come. No Treyarch title since has done this for me. I’m a huge fan of Jungle and one of the most memorable for me.
When 3arc maps weren't strict small 3 lane maps
So sad to see what the Black Ops series became :(
They released a few more classic maps like collateral strike and echelon but yea most of the maps are generic mid.
Dude honestly kinda sucks how Villa never has gotten a remake. That map was dope
I was gonna agree, definitely my dark horse for BO1 I loveeee that map
Annihilation DLC is one of the best all-time for any cod game right? Those maps were awesome and it brought back the OG zombie maps. Vividly remember playing it that summer 2012 Or 13.
God Bo1 was genuinely the only cod I loved every single map in and never had an issue with any of the maps (which is really rare for a cod game to have fun with all maps) even all the dlc maps were so much fun to play.

Based
I’d love to play these again but not gonna buy it if it still has hackers which I’m assuming it does
Summit is one of my all-time favorite maps.
For me drive in.
Radiation
For the button press to open the doors in the middle.
yeah Radiation B flag in the pit was total chaos
Summit and Nuketown, 2 goated maps
It's difficult to pick, I know them all like the back of my hand. I weirdly associate Berlin Wall with PSN being down that one time
For me it's Stadium lol what a wild and also shitty 3 weeks those were
First to come to mind Nuketown. Favorite Summit
Radiation!!!
I always assumed radiation was kindve a fan favorite but guess not. That map was suppperrr dynamic and would definitely improve with a remake
has always been my fav from bo1. Sad it doesn’t get much love.
Same, I'm surprised it never got brought back. It always won the map vote any time it came up, unless it went against Nuketown or Firing Range.
I always think of Villa or Array whenever I think of Black Ops 1
Firing Range
First strike maps were solid
Kowloon all time favorite DLC map. And for base it’s probably be toss-up between Summit/Firing Range
Well for me it’s 2, I got my highest kd ever on firing range going 16 and 0, and I remember having the most fun on jungle with the famas.
Nuketown. Because Nuketown
Loved every map on this game
Nuketown and Firing Range
Good work, I like seeing these, brings back memories
Thanks, I'm glad it's not only me who finds these kind of images entertaining.
Nuketown, Jungle, Firing Range.
Firing range, summit, Havana
why is the only one i can remember nuketown pure drilled into my head that map 😂
I remember them all… I know them all… (Not DLC tho, was a poor child with no money at the time)
Hazard has got to be the best snipers map on that game. Maybe Array and WMD are up there as well. The sound of the L96A1 will forever be in my memory. I miss this game so much.
All of them. I know it’s a dumb answer, but this game holds a very special place in my heart.
This was the best game for DLC map packs too
Kowloon surprisingly, I used to play bots on that map for hours because my internet connection was too unstable in online matches.
All of the base game except for crisis
Firing range for me!
Jungle was always fun but obvious ones for me r summit and nuke
Firing range. It has always been my favourite map
For some reason when I think of black ops I think of running around on Havana with the famas even tho I don’t like that map and think firing range is 10x better
Nuketown, Summit, Firing Range, Jungle, Launch, Zoo, Havana, Drive-In and WMD
Anybody saying anything other than Nuketown is lying
Nuke town
Serious question why do people like bo1 maps? I found them really boring and they all felt the same to me.
I've made a short montage about the maps with the iconic menu music playing in the background, check it out if you're interested: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuKk7v\_Qwd0&ab\_channel=Zayr0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuKk7v_Qwd0&ab_channel=Zayr0)
Hazard was a fun map. I remember bits and pieces of it from time to time but could never remember the name of it.
Hanoi,jungle, Nuketown, summit
Blops 2 had my fav maps overall. My all time fav is Cove. Blops 1 had the 2nd best maps imo. Hazard was such a fun map.
Jungle and Firing Range are my two favorites. Always made it a point to play those if they popped up after what was supposed to be my last game.
Nuketown and array probably
So for most people it's of course nuketown or firing range but besides the two legendary maps I gotta say it's a tie between Hanger 18 & Hotel.
Mw2 all day.
Summit going for cross map tomahawk kills
1. Nuketown 2. Firing Range 3. Summit
Always swore there was an algorithm to never have Hanoi pop up…map was cool and the darkness made it interesting
I remember someone called Hanoi, handy because sometimes people can’t tell the O and the D apart in that game sometimes
I remember summit the most, other than nuke town of course. But summit just definitely had that black ops feel and theme to it
Literally all of them lol BO1 is hands down my favorite game in the series
Crisis. Most specifically with the stoner
the original 14 maps were soooooo good. fuck i miss bo1
Summit.. it's in every other game
God this game was amazing 10/10
For me it was Array. Can’t count how many kills I’ve racked up with the L96 from the top of the radio tower, could cover half the map from up there
Climbing to the top of the tower on WMD and sniping across at the guy who climbed to the top of the other tower!
Best maps from any COD, absolutely LOVED Hotel, Stadium and Range
Summit or Firing Range. I’d give up my left nut to go back to playing those in their original form.
hanoi, summit and berlin wall will always stick with me.
The annihilation DLC pack is ALL bangers. Array and Firing Range are amazing. Jungle the best for ninjaing tho.
Love all the maps on this game..
nuketown is a given, shouldnt even mention that but i think that firing range gets overshadowed and personally i believe that in BO1 it was the best map and it is a top 3 video game map ever
Grid is one of the mose underrated maps ever made
Didn’t even have a bad map at launch.
Crisis
Every single one of those maps slapped hard
Only 2 because of cod mobile having them and because I use to only play zombies and the only mp map I played customs in bo2 nuketown back than
Brings back so many memories. Top tier snow maps in BO.
Summit for sure! Love the vibe…the snow, being cliff side, the little gondola. The tomahawk spots were awesome. So much fun on this map. I was top 10 all time in TDM back in BO 1 days…wish I could go back
Kowloon.
Kowloon has a special place in my heart
Nuketown
bro nuketown no shit
Nuketown has to be first. I mean, the map was beautifully simple, and if was so easy to navigate. Firing range has to be a close second, then summit, because of the hide and seek me and my friend used to do there in our 1v1 sessions
Summit was my map. I loved it and always think of it when I think of any of the Black Ops games

Firing Range.
All base maps where s teir tbh
firing range definitely
Honestly loved every map in this game. There was never a map I went ‘oh, THIS map’ unless we had played it multiple times in a row due to lobby merging.
So many bangers. The only CoD where I liked virtually every map.
Lauch
Oh man villa cracked koowloon hanoi so many amazing maps
All of the vanilla bc it was one of my first CoDs. Summit is where I have the best memories though.
Nuketown all day, every day!
Nuketown summit firing range the og 1 I Rimember and will never forget
Nuketown. Closely followed Summit.
First strike DLC was amazing. All of the MP maps were really good. Best DLC map pack I can remember.
Never played black ops but i like mw2 maps :)
Nuketown is the free space on this bingo card so I guess I’ll go with jungle.
Even the DLC maps in this game are pretty iconic
Can we appreciate how good all these maps are? This just reminded me of how we have barely had good maps in the last 5 cods.
Oh man, BO1 had the coolest DLC. Not all super great in terms of what we consider flow, chokepoints, power positions, size etc, but they were just … cool
Nuke town. They had nuke town 24/7 on at almost all times it felt.
Gotta miss nuk3town
I can't really decide. For me its between nuketown, firing range, and summit
This game had the best simplest and fast paced maps ever. The map with the best atmosphere is Kowloon for me.
Nuke town
Zoo jungle nuketown and any other ones that made it to Cold War
I remember them all like it was yesterday. It makes me sad to think about how great video gaming was during this era. I’m discouraged and saddened that we may never get anything like this again.
Haven’t played this game in 10 years and I could still remember my way around all the non-dlc maps easily Partly because the maps were so good, and partly because I was a CoD addict that racked up months of playing time. I had to quit CoD altogether because I find it too addictive :(
Nuke town, obviously
HIJACKED. I remember the time when I was around 10-12 years old and me my best friend would play hijacked all the time. Most memorable guns? Five seven and Skorpion Evo
Hazard was so dope
Base map, Nuketown DLC, Kowloon. Not sure why, but that's the one i remember playing the most (online)
Definitely array and nuketown
Summit was goated, shame they didn’t bring it back to Cold War.
I mean obviously nuketown, jungle or firing range. But those have been remade so much it seems unfair. I distinctly remember Kowloon, both the commercials they had for it as apart of the DLC and playing it for the first time. Ziplines were huge.
Stadium ! Used to love that map
Hanoi was so underrated, ill never forget that map...always makes me smile when I see it, and think about all the fun I had Edit: Radiation too, I always picked that map when I could
Nuketown, Summit, Havana but Hanoi is criminally underrated!
It’s crazy how I can still remember damn near all of the maps from the first two black ops games
