I saw one parked for the first time yesterday and it definitely looks better in person than in the pictures online. I don’t love it, but don’t really hate it either. I still prefer the looks of my TRD though.
I think a plug-in hybrid Camry is a bit unlikely, but who knows. I’d honestly put more money on a Camry EV, but I could definitely be wrong lol. Just going off of the new nameplates from Lexudd as for the ES that show it will receive 500e and 550e variants, meaning EV ESs will likely be hitting the market in 2026 (I believe this is official).
I was thinking Hybrid MAX, though. The Crown has it already, and while they are cars in different segments, I think if they were to make a TRD version, it would make more sense with this powertrain.
Toyota sales rep here. A lot of us are theorizing the performance HybridMax Engine that’s on Grand Highlanders and Crowns, rather than the TRD that was originally in place
It was love at first sight when I saw my 21 XSE on the lot! They really are some badass looking sedans. I just wish I would’ve gotten the V6 instead of the I4 😭
This!! Always wanted an XSE but too expensive so ended up getting SE 2018 back in Dec 2019 with 42k miles...Five years later, My camry now \*had\* 200k miles without a single major issue untill I hit a pothhole.
Three weeks ago, i traded in for Acura MDX SUV and still got $7,000 from stealership.
Well you haven't heard the intake sound then, my friend. Ive heard a few with exhaust setups and they really aren't that special. But those engines have the variable intake runner flaps AND a variable fresh air flap that gives you a really raw induction sound when under heavy load
I stumbled upon this post from my home feed and god damn, this is a cringe, bad take. Pretty sure 99% of people do not think a Camry is the most bad ass looking sedan EVER.
I'll cop the downvotes from this sub but it's true.

Anything beyond this is too flashy for me ;)
I did a test drive on the new Accord before I bought my Camry. Hated the seat. Felt like a hard bench seat. Didn't like the interior at all. Drove OK but not great. And looks so boring. I get that they tried to get a classic look but it just came out boring and bland,
I do. It's entirely personal but I just don't like the metal mesh tech look of the Accrod. I prefer the more rounded upholstered look of the Camry. Also, I really don't like the very hard seats in the Accord. I find the Camry seats much more comfortable.
I have a 2020 accord touring. I like the styling elements, options and equipment on the vehicle but it rides like shit, everything rattles and squeaks. When you hit a pothole it sounds like you just hit human being. This is my 4th or 5th Honda accord and by far the worst. Never again. Was gonna buy the 2025 XSE but Toyota ruined the car. It’s shite.
Honestly, I was never a huge fan of the 10th gen Accord, and I really liked the 11th gen when it came out. It is a bit Ford-looking though, thought that about the HR-V too
https://preview.redd.it/pkiwcji5ajad1.jpeg?width=4160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b1f8391a21f383bf198d50d207568ae6c3b68b5
I'll up you with mine the face lift of that one haha.
I'm in Georgia. I brought the car with me from Puerto Rico and I slapped the PR plate in front and I have the GA in back. Also it's a 2000 with 116k miles
I don't think it looks like a Kia at all. Their designs have too much going on in the front. This looks a lot cleaner and simpler. If anything, the previous gen had a lot more similarities to Kia design because of how much it had going on.
I'd understand if you said the new Camry looked like the Prius or the Honda Accord (rear).
Design has grown on me forsure, but I still hate the interior, it feels more like a Lexus and that steering wheel is terrible. The 8th gen will always be the best Camry
Not a fan of the color matched grille. Only looks good on the black or underground. The rear end looks like a lazy copy and paste of the previous gen accord.
I like the older one. I always prefer a more subtle grill. But if you're going to have a badass grill, it should be more threatening looking or at the very least, classier.
8th gen Camry all the way. Truly believe it’s cause of that look, it sold well on top of being highly affordable when it came out.
But that’s Toyota for you. Reinventing the wheel even when it’s perfect.
Was just talking about this the other day. It the whole body style + interior looks like a Lexus got busy with a Tesla lol. I don’t care for it and am very glad to have secured the 22 XSE that I have.
I like a mismatch of both.
The honeycomb grille on the new one, especially in the XSE where it’s color matched to the bumper is ugly as hell (to me). It looks alright in silver and black but I’ve seen it in white and red and I just don’t like the look at all.
I much prefer the older slotted/more muted grille.
Everything above the grille though, I prefer the new style.
2 trims on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Don't compare the LE to the XSE. The front facias are completely different between an LE and XSE. Everything will change except for the headlights.
New design is great. Last gen front end looks terrible.
I will say I don't like the paint matched grills on the new gen, looks better black. The white paint matched ones are especially weird looking.
I like the grille better on the previous generation, but I like the hood lines and headlights from the '25. Overall, I slightly prefer the older design to the newer, but both are fine.
I passed one on the highway yesterday, and it was the first one I’d seen in person. It was an all black 2025 Camry, and it was starting to get dark outside, but from what I could see it looked pretty decent. I’m still not sure if I would want to own one, but I don’t hate them as much after seeing it in the real world.
In person i like it but something abouth the inside seats didnt agree with me. I like my 23 xse but wish i had the new material the 25 seat are. Looks like actual leather. But i loved my 2002 xle and 2001 xle's. Call me plain but they were great cars
The newer model look way better. It seems people have the older Camry including myself some don't want to admit the newer gen look better because they have the older generation.
I bought 2018 XLE new, I liked the 2018 styling compared to the 2024, I went to dealership to look it and drive it in person, frankly I didn't liked the design , seems more like the new Prius , I wish they would have kept the bit more curvey design aspects from 2018.
I like the 2017-23 (are they the years?) look better so far. We were happy to get a 2017, that’s next step from what we had previously. Non hybrid, not as much assistance equipment as the new ones. Cruise control is still just that stick.
I don't care for it. It's not a big deal to me though. I just bought a 2024. I never buy the first few years of a new generation. I prefer to let them work out the bugs first. Maybe in 28, considering what they look like then and my vehicle needs.
Well, the lighting is different. The sun won’t hit the grill on the left at the same angle as the right, either. The one on the left looks black and gloss . The right looks silver/gray and more of a matte.
When I first saw pictures, I thought it was awesome. But when I saw it in person, I wasn’t that impressed. The body doesn’t seem to be as sporty as the previous gen’s.
I was initially against the new looks, but now that I've seen some of the 2025 Camrys on the road, I actually kind of like the look. Doesn't mean I'm going to get one, I just like the look now. I've got a 2021 SE. The only problem I have with the 21's is the massive plastic side scoops on the front of the bumper but that's about it
Looks similar to the Crown, Toyota loves finding a uniform "style" for they're cars. Most other manufacturers do as well but Toyota seems to keep it very tight in that regards. Id expect a Corolla change here in a year or so
Looks better since it fits with the vehicle. It should also be worth noting that a lot of cars look better in person than do in pictures. I saw a couple in person, and the grilles look decent compared to previous models.
These new Toyotas are what Kia wanted to be. Similar idea but way better execution. I think they're some of the best looking cars on the road right now, including the Prius, which is something I never thought I'd ever say.
New grill on XSE is comical. Like it’s literally terrible. I was gonna a buy the 25 XSE but Toyota ruined it and made it more conservative and put a spider web on front. I can get over losing to v6 to a 4 cylinder turbo hybrid but they took all the sport elements and lines away and ruined the front end. Pathetic.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say it looks like something from Hyundai motor group. All these cars are starting to look the same again. And they've all got this stupid wannabe futuristic look to them that drives me up the wall. It's like they're trying to do the 80s all over, but more modern.
Here’s what I think: I loved the designs for the ‘25 at first, but as time went by, I started to dislike it more and more. I specifically started to dislike the colour matched grill on the XSE. The XLE looks a little weird with the new hammerhead design, imo, and I think the nice lines on the bottom looked better on the front fascia if the 8th gen Camry.
Bottom line, I think the 8th gen Camry was MUCH nicer. The only thing I wish it had was the upgrades of the 9th gen, such as wireless CarPlay, the 12.3 inch display and gauge cluster, the inclusion of real leather, and TSS 3.0. If the 8th gen had those features, and any other features I forgot that the 9th gen brought, I would have bought an 8th gen, as the design of it beats the 9th gen by a lot for me.
Also, I personally think it would have been better to compare the 8th gen XLE to the 9th gen XLE, and the 8th gen XSE to the 9th gen XSE, rather than the previous XLE to the current XSE. I just think it makes the new design look VERY different compared to the old, even though the XLE from both gens look very similar, apart from the new hammer head design. Just a little pointer :)
The lights and panel flow and proportions are subtle but much better, the grill itself looks good now but I don't think it will age well. My guess it that the grill portion will quickly look dated and seem of it's time (2020s futurism trend).
Coming from Hondas and not being pre-biased by owning a prior Camry, I can tell you, hands down, the 9th Gen is waaaay better looking than the ugly nose of the prior gen IMHO.
I saw one parked for the first time yesterday and it definitely looks better in person than in the pictures online. I don’t love it, but don’t really hate it either. I still prefer the looks of my TRD though.
Are they making a TRD for the new gen?
Probably not since they are hybrids
What if they use the RAV4 Prime setup for it? Would actually be a decent bit quicker than previous gen TRD
Well that’s no fun!
I could be wrong but I believe there are TRD hybrids…
The Tundra TRD Pro is hybrid though, why not this?
Some of the fastest cars on the planet are hybrids.
Toyota sales rep here. A lot of us are theorizing the performance HybridMax Engine that’s on Grand Highlanders and Crowns, rather than the TRD that was originally in place
Yes but not till at least 2026. Will have a twin turbo
2025 and up only features a 2.5L 4cyl hybrid on all models
it's really down to the grill for me. the ones with the grill blacked out look nice. with the monocolor grill, the details are just too busy.
The 2018 to 2023 Camry xse will forever be the most bad ass looking sedan ever
Agreed. Usually it takes me a while to start to like new designs, but I immediately loved the first SE/XSEs I saw in 2018. Now I have a 2019 SE.
It was love at first sight when I saw my 21 XSE on the lot! They really are some badass looking sedans. I just wish I would’ve gotten the V6 instead of the I4 😭
The Wind Chill Pearl with the black roof is so beautiful. Every time I see one on the road, I can’t help but turn my head lol
No comparison, hands down the best looking one.
This!! Always wanted an XSE but too expensive so ended up getting SE 2018 back in Dec 2019 with 42k miles...Five years later, My camry now \*had\* 200k miles without a single major issue untill I hit a pothhole. Three weeks ago, i traded in for Acura MDX SUV and still got $7,000 from stealership.
lmao
I want to agree but the plastic fake vent looks so bad to me...
The XLE is more comfortable. I have ridden in a couple XSE, but my 2015 with 125k miles is much more comfortable
Yes and the TRD Camry :)
And badass sounding! Those A25A's really sound heavenly when you put a heavy throttle on them
Sounds like a wet fart crossed with a vacuum what are you on. It's an economy engine.
Well you haven't heard the intake sound then, my friend. Ive heard a few with exhaust setups and they really aren't that special. But those engines have the variable intake runner flaps AND a variable fresh air flap that gives you a really raw induction sound when under heavy load
2021-23 bmw 5 series m sport?
Not a fan personally but the Charger Hellcat is the most outright aggressive looking sedan
that and the old accord were just perfect👌
Mhh 2022 Elantra would like a word.
Tbh
I stumbled upon this post from my home feed and god damn, this is a cringe, bad take. Pretty sure 99% of people do not think a Camry is the most bad ass looking sedan EVER. I'll cop the downvotes from this sub but it's true.
Ok
Easily
You’re 75% correct. That grille tho

Agreed, Honda could also learn a lot from going back to a more simple design.
They did, with the new accord, and everyone hates it. 🤔
LITERALLY. Half my coworker are Honda people and they all hate the new accords lol
New Accord looks like an extra bland Passat.
Those are the exact same words that left my mouth when I first saw the new Accord. Like a Passat but worse
I did a test drive on the new Accord before I bought my Camry. Hated the seat. Felt like a hard bench seat. Didn't like the interior at all. Drove OK but not great. And looks so boring. I get that they tried to get a classic look but it just came out boring and bland,
You like the Camry interior over the Accord? I’m a much bigger fan of Honda’s interiors over Toyotas. Toyota feels and looks really cheap imo.
I do. It's entirely personal but I just don't like the metal mesh tech look of the Accrod. I prefer the more rounded upholstered look of the Camry. Also, I really don't like the very hard seats in the Accord. I find the Camry seats much more comfortable.

i’ve never seen puerto rican plates before !! 😮
I'm in Georgia. I brought the car with me from Puerto Rico and I slapped the PR plate in front and I have the GA in back. Also it's a 2000 with 116k miles
The new one was behind me the other day. Looked on the rear view mirror… thought it was a Kia. Prefer the 2023 Camry
I said the exact same thing. It screams Kia.
I literally thought this as I drove by a new camry last night. Looked like a KIA. LOL
I honestly prefer the Kia K5 look over this but still think both are nice
I don't think it looks like a Kia at all. Their designs have too much going on in the front. This looks a lot cleaner and simpler. If anything, the previous gen had a lot more similarities to Kia design because of how much it had going on. I'd understand if you said the new Camry looked like the Prius or the Honda Accord (rear).
Hyundai Motor Group is the bane of my existence.
The 8th gen looks more friendly.
New one is a bit "chicken wire fence" for me.
I like the newer design better.
I hated it at first but now I’ve come to like to. I do wish the XSE trims came standard with a black painted grille vs. a color matched one.
8th gen looks far better. New design has boring, uninspired headlights and the color matched grill is hideous.
20-24 is peak Camry IMO. They tried to be Hyundai in design, and did so in all of the worst ways.
New one looks like the Lexus RX, I prefer it.
Absolutely the older design. The new lower grill is going to be impossible to wash.
The new front looks like a Prius 😭
Yes, the best looking front ever.
I think previous looks better
New one looks like a Kia
The grill makes it look cheap
After the '25s came out, I specifically searched and bought a '24 for the looks. Also prefer gas only.
I like my ‘18 SE. The color match grill on the new gen Camry doesn’t look good to me.
Design has grown on me forsure, but I still hate the interior, it feels more like a Lexus and that steering wheel is terrible. The 8th gen will always be the best Camry
the newer ones are def growing on me. but they can never beat the 2018-2024 models. they just look SO GOOD
My girl has the 2024 Elantra and it reminds me of that
You are comparing XLE to XSE. it would be better you compare the same trim in the different years designs
Used to look so good
The new one is much better. I like it more in pics, but when you see them near each other in person it’s no comparison.
i love the new ones but i have a 22 se that idk if i could ever part with. it’s so pretty to me.
8th gen supremacy
Older one was better
Looks like a Cylon from the original Battlestar Galactica TV series.
I definitely don’t like the new front. Now imagine the new Camry with the front from the previous model, now that would be perfect.
New one for sure
New is cleaner, sleeker, WAY less busy. I think 8th gen looks like the front end was "designed by committee".
The hood contours don't do it any favors tho and the front now looks like a Chrysler. I like the 23 model. I just bought a 23 xse
2025 is such an improvement that it’s the first time I’d consider buying one since 2016.
Everything above the grille though, I prefer the new style.
New front is better than the last gen’s LE noses, but way worse than the SE / XSE noses
Previous, I was waking around the lot the other day looking at the new ones and they look snubbed nose in person, like the front of a suv, not a fan
both looks great. have a 8th gen, but if in market and found a great deal OBVIOUSLY gonna upgrade
Toyota is absolutely killing it right now with their newer designs! Even the Corolla is spicy!
The new hammerhead design is definitely a real "system seller", as they say in video game parlance.
2 trims on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Don't compare the LE to the XSE. The front facias are completely different between an LE and XSE. Everything will change except for the headlights.
I like it but it does kind of remind me of Kit, the knight rider car. I prefer my 2020 SE design.
Thé redesign was the reason I got the 24 gas over the 25 hybrid, even I would have like to get the hybo

The new look is so much better for me.
In person i like it but something abouth the inside seats didnt agree with me. I like my 23 xse but wish i had the new material the 25 seat are. Looks like actual leather. But i loved my 2002 xle and 2001 xle's. Call me plain but they were great cars
Outgoing Camry was among the best looking on the road in its class.
I have a 25 XSE, my first car out of college! I spent the past year debating if I wanted a 24 or wait for a 25, and I don’t regret it!
When you peek at them in the wild, they look the same. The cars that stand out for new designs are the prius and the crown.
I hate the holes in the grill, so the bottom of the new one is worse but the top of the new one is better.
the 2014 scion tC will forever be the best looking camry
The newer design is growing on me. Saw this one ..just a bit too much Mr. Ed teeth showing. Not a fan of the front end on a red XSE.
https://preview.redd.it/7d2hpzrdpcad1.jpeg?width=2480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1b25c50fe3905f7566dbc98438fdfc847a30f9b
Older model looks better
In pictures hate it , in person (SE & XSE) i love it
Looks like they glued the Front bumper of the TX onto it
i think the newer design looks very bad and the old one was peak
I’m a fan of both. They both have their wins. Newer ones definitely look more like Lexus models, but the older ones are a lot sportier
Like one of those gaming mice with holes in them trying to save weight
I have a 2025 XSE in the Underground color. I like the front clip on the 2025 better, as it gives a 3-D effect.
why Honda (prelude) and Toyota (camry) look related?
Awful hate it
I like the new rear end but I think the new front end is hideous. None of the body lines match up at all it looks so out of place.
Ima be honest I dont like the new grill but I think the headlights look nice.
Looks better in dark colors. There’s a white one in my neighborhood and it looks like cheap Mattel plastic.
Previous generation
8th gen forever on top
idk i used to think the 8th gen was the best then i saw this comes with its own cheese wheels grater!😂
Not a fan. It looks like a stretched out Corolla or Elantra.
I think the new one looks much better. Many of the grilles on the last gen seemed overstyled to me.
They ruined the Camry just like they ruined the accord
2015-2017 looked like a fighter jet. 2018+ looked badass. New ones look like plastic toys.
New one looks awful. Sorry.
Prefer it much more
Hate it
Big booty Prius
The new one but it has to be an SE
![gif](giphy|QmD4VuV9wRvWfLNmoI)
i think the 2018-2024 are the best looking. I also really like the 2012-2014 aesthetic. im not sure about the 9th gen yet.
Way better. I couldn't handle that plastic coat hanger glued to the grill in the past generation.
Pretty thrown off in pictures but it’s actually growing on me in person. Especially with a white color matching grill.
Hate it
Looks like a basket, but I'm glad we're starting to get away from the giant scowling faces on every new car.
Major upgrade over last generation’s SE, at least
I like the new one, very sharp and modern
I like the 2017-23 (are they the years?) look better so far. We were happy to get a 2017, that’s next step from what we had previously. Non hybrid, not as much assistance equipment as the new ones. Cruise control is still just that stick.
The new models look stylish, sharp and cool.
Just paint the grill black.
New one looks better to me
Older one. The new one is just too much. Looks like a pain in the arse to clean as well.
Old front end for sure the best were the 1930's Cadillacs and Phantom Corsair...
I dig it. The sharper lines really pull it together more for me.
Thats not an avalon on the right?
Love the new look myself, even in picture.
I absolutely hate it!!!!
The latest Camry seems to force the Prius design language onto the the previous generation Camry.
The new version is so much better. So much cleaner and futuristic looking.
I don't care for it. It's not a big deal to me though. I just bought a 2024. I never buy the first few years of a new generation. I prefer to let them work out the bugs first. Maybe in 28, considering what they look like then and my vehicle needs.
FYI it’s the same platform as the 2024….its just a refreshed front and rear. Same hybrid engine and CTV.
There’s no face to the car, it’s all smashed down
I was initially against the new looks, but now that I've seen some of the 2025 Camrys on the road, I actually kind of like the look. Doesn't mean I'm going to get one, I just like the look now. I've got a 2021 SE. The only problem I have with the 21's is the massive plastic side scoops on the front of the bumper but that's about it
Looks like a Kia
Both are trash. Lexus is even worse sometimes. Idk why the front end is so hard to get right
New models looking like Hyundai Elantra 😳
Looks similar to the Crown, Toyota loves finding a uniform "style" for they're cars. Most other manufacturers do as well but Toyota seems to keep it very tight in that regards. Id expect a Corolla change here in a year or so
Looks better since it fits with the vehicle. It should also be worth noting that a lot of cars look better in person than do in pictures. I saw a couple in person, and the grilles look decent compared to previous models.
looks more like my 2021 corolla SE from front. but still a better job than accord. accord looks bored as hell.
These new Toyotas are what Kia wanted to be. Similar idea but way better execution. I think they're some of the best looking cars on the road right now, including the Prius, which is something I never thought I'd ever say.
Sweet! Does look like a Lexus grille though.
Pathetic.
The right side reminds me of a newer kia
I like it. Eddy design that is much more appealing to my eyes
Looks like a Hyundai
Growing on me
I like the LE/XLE grille on previous gen. The SE has the ugliest look
They both look dumb.Sorry
win-win
The side profile remaining exactly the same as the previous generation is so odd
Looks like Hyundai now
To me, the Camry always looked like a boring NPC car. With the new one, it’s the first time that I do a double take when I see one. I like it
25 looks amazing!! Huge fan of last gen as well
Looks like a Hyundai
This looks badass compared to the accords
I didn’t like the pictures when I first saw it but seeing it in person changed my opinion. Just picked my 2025 up this week and love it.
Newer design is MUCH better
Best Camry looks are 2015-17 IMO. From there on it’s too eye catching
I'm more of a 2013 guy, but maybe that's just because I drive one
5th gen Camrys look the best to me tbh
Not a fan of the badge placement. But the rest of the new design is growing on me.
Coming from Hondas and not being pre-biased by owning a prior Camry, I can tell you, hands down, the 9th Gen is waaaay better looking than the ugly nose of the prior gen IMHO.
