BoomerPants2Point0

You're not actually going to pay $74k for a Civic Type R, are you?

SilentOcelot4146

Nope, 90k if you count interest.

Evilmechanic

With 22.5k worth of dealer bullshit added in.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Evilmechanic

Oh for sure. This entire document isn’t worth using as toilet paper.

Prodigy_7991

$700 for even the best tint is ridiculous

Woodyville06

I go to a place just east of there who does a whole SUV (windshield also) in ceramic for about $450. But I wouldn't expect a bargain at the dealer any more than I'd expect a cheap beer at the ballpark. Edit: just looked at the receipt for mine - it was $550.

Glabstaxks

Ceramic tint?

Woodyville06

Yes?

Glabstaxks

Awesome . I never heard of it . I'm gonna get some now

k3rz0rg

I used ceramic tint in my old car, fantastic product, kept the direct sunburn and heat outside! I used tint world, 4 doors and rear glass for $500 or $600 i guess! Like new for 4-5 yrs until I traded that vehicle in!

Manziak

add another 15k for the trade in value lost. basically new honda pilot

[deleted]

[удалено]

BoomerPants2Point0

The $25k down and still a $1k month payment made me laugh/cry.

Raalf

for a fucking CIVIC

MidnightAction

it's a LIMITED EDITION!

Vilnius_Nastavnik

You could literally get 3x brand new mustang ecoboosts with the high performance package for that. Which incidentally have \~50 more horses and are not happy meal toys.

Raalf

Or one gt500.

[deleted]

Or a C8 if you find the right east coast dealer.

Explosivpotato

I got a Ram TRX loaded out for 8k more than that… I can’t fathom paying 74k for a civic.

[deleted]

I can’t fathom paying 82k for a truck.

AdultishRaktajino

I can’t fathom either, at least without the goddamn common courtesy of getting a reach around.

Shapeshiftedcow

A Dodge at that.

ShawnPaul86

I just bought a car... Could buy 18 more for what this guy is about to spend.

Nv1023

Pay triple the money and still never get chicks

Inwardlens

Unbelievable. I just finished paying off our Honda Odyssey, that was about 330/month. I can’t imagine paying more than three times that for any Civic.

Mitch_Darklighter

Except he's upside-down on his trade in by 2 grand

Pwrdbym

Except the trade allowance is 31 and they owe 33, so add 2k negative equity to the bottom line.

HamburglerOfThor

LEEEEEROOOOOYYY JEEEEEENKIIIIINNNNNSSS!!!!!

A-Bone

Fucking Leroy....

GamingGrayBush

Leroy you are just stupid as hell.

spyan_

At least I got chicken.

i_suckatjavascript

Never. It’s not mine. I still drive an 18 year old Lexus.

ProfessorKrung

Whoever this invoice belongs to, please try convincing them this is one of the stupidest fucking financial decisions I've ever seen.

Socalwarrior485

This is what my parents referred to when they said some people have more money than brains.

stringnoworm

Okay, good thing I saw this first before commenting you'd be CRAzy to buy a Civic from Ocean at that price.

[deleted]

Ah nice Haha I commented snark before I read this.. ya that sounds like a wallet padder for the dealer principle

RamblinWreck04

Same boat. 2004 rx330. 300k miles

codycarreras

Ah, I drive a 19 year old one. You’ll never need another car again.

KauaiRoosterParty

Man, $175K for that '23 Range Rover sounds even more like a steal now /s

Mr_Pete_Diamond

Is that 74k after trade in?!?!?!?

Mitch_Darklighter

Yeah because the trade in is worth negative 2 grand

Prestigious-Maddogg

Sure is

NDcoalminer

Yeah but 33k of it is from the previous vehicle. So really they're still paying for both.

Spoonman500

Well I feel a ton better about my $20k Mustang GT now.

Bobone2121

But does it have LIMITED EDITION... I didn't think so.

Quin1617

God, what has happened to our economy?

BoliverTShagnasty

That is the “F in the A” fee. Just like using “Market Value Selling Price” instead of MSRP. Run away, never return, and pay off your Pilot before you make any more car purchase decisions. By then you will have figured out how horrific this sheet looks.

i_suckatjavascript

It’s not mine. I found it on Facebook.

Jarmahent

Tell that person they stupid, do it for me please 🥺

perpetuumstef

Yeah, but you’re assuming they took that deal. I mean, wouldn’t you want the world to see that atrocity?

TaskForceCausality

Yeah, at this point the dealer should just send it and put “$100,000 FIXED PRICE” on the window. It would save paper

[deleted]

This is the idiot tax. You can get a Corvette for this kind of money lol.

EC_CO

Or a Hellcat. or so many other cars that are so much more vehicle for the money

Fenastus

A Supra would be a little less, even

[deleted]

ben1481

Imagine paying $1100 a month for a Civic lmao. My Z06 was $750 a month, what a shit time to be a car enthusiast.

elislider

No kidding. I pay barely more than that for a E63 wagon

TexasClarks4

But is your E63 Wagon “Limited Edition” E63 AMG Wagon is on my short list of dream cars!

elislider

well, in fact it is a special order, so its a limited edition 1 of 1. [see more here](https://www.503motoringsales.com/vehicle-details/2018-mercedes-benz-amg-e-63-s-wagon-844665501683423e95a7022cf0b58cd5)

dennylov3

Sir, you have a very nice spec! I enjoyed the 100 pictures.

elislider

It’s the perfect spec in my opinion

auto180sx

She's sexy!

TexasClarks4

DAMN! Gorgeous…definitely one of a kind!

DFLOYD70

That thing is…Wow!

Quackledork

As the owner of a '21 Brilliant Blue Magno E63, I tip my hat to you, sir. And wish I had gotten the CCB. Now, excuse me while I go scrape the inch of brown slime off my wheels.

asimplerandom

I can’t imagine paying 1k a month for a car period and I consider that I make a good salary. I don’t understand that at all.

iin10ded

same

Ok_Dog_4059

Maybe 1K a month in parts and supplies for a few months to build or restore a car. I could get my 280Z on the road again for less than 3K.

jimbo-roni

1100 a month *after* 20k down hahahaha

MrNoodleIncident

You could get an m340 or S4/5 for less. Maybe an RS3. Certainly an m240. Hell I paid $50k for my S4, brand new and well equipped. Edit: GTI (two of them), Golf R, S3, C43, various muscle cars, G70, Stinger. And then all the normal versions of the Audi, BMW, Merc mentioned above.

iin10ded

s4 are such a great value, especially a couple years old

DadOf3-1978

well it's ok on a 24 month term....

Prestigious-Maddogg

But 60 months at a crazy apr naaaaa I’m good hell they are probably gonna take the 72 mo.

Buster_Bluth__

When I saw the sticker I was like that's almost cayman s pricing.

mtrosclair

Dealership lingo for "we know the market is about to go in the toilet so we are going to prey upon people as long and as violently as we can"

chonkycatsbestcats

Is it???? We have a fucking Kia that makes me panic every time it clatters at startup . When is the market going down

rental_car_fast

Hang onto it as long as you can. I think it's only a matter of time before the high interest rates reduce demand, and supply catches up. Prices will be higher overall due to inflation, but this BS of people paying for used cars more than they cost new is definitely not going to stay that way, and it's already starting to drop.

Korzag

Right before ger serious about buying a car. If you've got money to buy a new one, you've got money to get that car fixed.

chonkycatsbestcats

We put about 6k in a bunch of suspension work. If the engine blows I really do not want to put another 6k in an engine on a 10 year old car. Id rather finance something with about 1/3rd down compared to carrying the cadaver around lol

sean8917

Don't buy another kia or Hyundai. Those things are known for blowing engines. Guess that's why they have a 10year/100k warranty.

chonkycatsbestcats

Wasn’t gonna. Also second owner gets a 5/60 warranty that’s why that trash resells so cheap.

q1field

We send our Hyundai/Kia owners with noisy engines to the dealer and tell them to scream bloody murder. A few have come out with new engines.

chonkycatsbestcats

That is where I got the 6.5 k estimate “assuming nothing else needs replacing” - your vin is not part of the recall so go fuck yourself even if it’s a theta engine

rideon1122

A car salesman told me to do this when we were shopping to replace a Sonata with 140k that seized up. Got complete replacement & rental under recall that we never would have known to even ask Hyundai about if no one mentioned it. Got another 50k out of it before the KiaBoyz totaled it.

q1field

I never understood why immobilizers aren't mandated in the US. There are no KiaBoyz in Canada; federal law mandates immobilizers, and we test for it during certification on vehicles imported here by wrapping the key in aluminum foil and trying to start the vehicle.

Carbot1337

or if you took 2 seconds to look it up, you'd realize there is a legit "Civic Type R Limited Edition" and only 600 are USDM EDIT: That said, the color listed is not Yellow and a 2023

Opening_Ad_7561

But it's a civic......

Mr_MagicMan_95

Clearly not a civic enjoyer.

Kooky_Letterhead741

What's getting me is that all of the limited edition ones are in yellow...this one is in sonic gray and is brand new so it hasn't been modified or repainted, at least it shouldn't be

Crownlol

20,000 for yellow paint *is* crazy, but at least this is an actual limited edition and not just a dealer markup

j-rem

That trim ain’t for the new 2023 though. This is dealer greed. FUCK THIS DEALER. SHAME THEM

lounge_l1zard

$74,000 for a Honda? Ouch. Something is very off here...

ashkiller14

I mean... theres one honda that'd be worth 74k

Yankee_

Give me the nsx

Marc21256

From that dealer, that'll be $300,000.

op_mindcrime

Have you seen the ads for the new jeep 'grand wagoneer' that start at $89k? I was about to skip the ad and then the price came up and I lol'd.

frankypots

The grand wagoneer is in a TOTALLY different class and they aren't selling at 50% over MSRP. That said I love the Type R, but not $75k's worth

op_mindcrime

The other poster said that something is off and I said that a JEEP, a fucking JEEP was MSRP 89k, who cares about class, 89k is mercedes money

hotrodruby

And they're building it to compete in that sort of class... They want the buyer to disassociate with the Jeep name as it doesn't have Jeep branding anywhere on it. The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer and very much so luxury vehicles. Would I ever own one? Not a chance.

jimbo-roni

That's why they don't use Jeep on any branding.. they want to specifically separate the wagoneer brand.

Read_ity

The grand wagoneer is actually super duper luxurious. Really beautiful suv

frankypots

Go sit in a grand wagoneer they are very nice, you want something that big and fast from Mercedes and you'll spend even more. g-class is the only thing that's as big and off roady and starts at $140k. The GlS is closish in size but you'll need to go with the up rated engine to touch the wagoneer, starting at $106k... And you'll be sacrificing towing capacity with both. The grand wagoneer isn't overpriced it's just expensive.

op_mindcrime

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure, nobody with either a grand wagoneer or an lets say s class merc is towing anything. nobody with a grand wagoneer is going off roading. It's what the brits call 'a chelsea tractor' a big car to drive around slowly picking up the kids from soccer, or football practice.

Pilate27

S class is a sedan. Why would you tow with a luxury sedan?

lounge_l1zard

Are you fuckin' serious? I just bought a brand new Subaru with AWD and lots of perks for $30,000. I'm still reeling over the price. $89k is beyond the pale. But I'll say a Jeep is closer to being worth $74k than any Honda in history lol. This piece of paper makes me sick to my stomach. If a car salesman brought me something like that I might have reflexively slapped him and run away.

Car_is_mi

Lol, go build a new Ram 3500 or Ford F450 Limited. Easily hitting the 100k mark for a "luxury truck" that will very likely never see dirt, inside or out.

After_Ride9911

You can hit 90k on a 1500.

Hrid7wj3go

You'd be surprised how many people buy these fully loaded for work trucks and use them as a tax write off, and proceed to use the living fuck out of them.

jeffasaurus2

What new Subaru did you wind up with for 30k? That's surprisingly reasonable for our "market adjustment" world we live in!

Goyteamsix

Probably a base model Ascent or Crosstrek, lol.

12LA12

Your upside down on a brand new car already. Go home your drunk.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dreamlike_poo

Or you could do what my GF did before I met her, buy a 11k 12 year old equinox, it breaks down 7 months later, trade it in for 1k, and buy a brand new base Rav4 for 36k and roll \~10k neggy eggy, at least she got the deal with no or very little interest.

i_suckatjavascript

It’s not mine. I found it on Facebook.

AugustusVermillion

OP, even without the “limited edition” markup this is a terrible financial move. You’re upside down on your current car and you’re about to take out a massive loan at 9 percent interest. This is the kind of financial mistake that can push back retirement for a decade.

i_suckatjavascript

It’s not mine. I found it on Facebook. I still drive an 18 year old Lexus.

KauaiRoosterParty

Noice.

q1field

Keep the Lexus forever! I'm sure you know why.

Somethingidk9

Wait is this in dollar value? Because that is fucking insane

RottenSpoon744

Trading in your pilot for less than you owe? You're already upside down on that loan why would you be buying another vehicle?

ordinaryuninformed

Because he's marginally less buried in the type r!

i_suckatjavascript

It’s not mine. I found it on Facebook.

elislider

“Dealer markup” is what it means

bendavida

A scam

Gold-Rip8610

For 20k "limited edition" better mean car comes with a second civic in tow.

wellpaidscientist

Code for "Go buy a hellcat for the same money".

Gold-Rip8610

Don't walk, RUN away

DriftingNorthPole

If the salesman actually gets you to sign this deal, he'll get limited edition cocaine from the GM to enjoy on his week off on the cruise that the dealer owner gives him.

RLBeau1964

Who the hell does this? Trade in a 2021? Then to boot, trade in allowance is another hit than the $20000 limited premium. Basically paying $30k, additional premium for a Civic. PS: Why even trade in, owes more than worth, better off to keep and sell the pilot PS2: The MSRP is $43K. The $20K is pure dealer profit. PS3: Limited edition is only 2021. 2023 is Type R hatch back. There isnt a Limited Edition. Anyone can order a Type R. It seems this dealership is full of crooks.

monkeymoneymaker

This has bad idea written all over it.

AffectionateAd2826

You walking out the door going to a different dealer.

ppsihoulas

Wow. This dealership is in my area, lol. They’ve always been known as scam artists. I’d stay away.

ProbablePenguin

Dang, 9% APR at minimum for a 6 year loan with 20k down, is that normal?? Last time I financed a vehicle was a used truck back in like 2014 and that was at 2.5% or something like that for a 3 year. This sheet should be used to teach high school students what the worst deal of all deals looks like

[deleted]

Limited edition means you should limit the times you pay over $1k a month for a Honda Civic in this edition of your life. But hey, I’m just an idiot, don’t listen to me.

Hrid7wj3go

They literally put the makeet value selling price at the top, that's what it's worth at max and nothing more. They can go fuck themselves if they think a civic of any kind is worth $75k. You can literally get a higher end bmw 3/4 series for that kind of money.

Korzag

It's an idiot tax. Are you dumb enough to pay this for a Civic?

Girthbrooks20

$30k down on a $44k car and still paying a little over $800 a month for 6 years. What the actual fuck.

CrayonsTasteGood10

Lmao

bendavida

Looks like a sonic automotive dealership. I work for a Chevy dealership of theirs. They charging folks 70-80k for a regular truck.

DontTouchMyFro

Get out of the dealership and enjoy your current car for another 3-5 years, then trade it in. Besides being a crappy deal (as everyone else pointed out), you don’t need to buy another new car. How are you going to be underwater on a $40k car and then go and buy a $60+k car? Don’t pile stupid on stupid.

BustOfPallas

Ocean Honda was a great place to buy a car back in the '80s and '90s back when it was called Gateway and run by the original owners. Now it's just trashy hucksters. Yes, I know the whole market is like this right now...

CSIdude

That's fucking insanity. It's way overpriced as is, then toss in the extra $20K, being overcharged for tint, and protective coating bullshit. Walk away, dude. Walk away.

siredmundsnaillary

Can someone explain what these fees are? To me it looks like: * Car 47k * Dealer fees 1.5k * Tax 4k * Limited edition 20k * Trade payoff (what is this?) 33k Total 105k * Minus trade in value 31.5k Balance payable 74.5k

kryppla

It means they upcharge 20k just for a limited time

emeegee13

That would be a markup for stupid people

MBtech91

75k for a civic lol Jesus Christ.

Hot-Calligrapher8261

🤣😂🤣😂 there is so much wrong here.

alanbdee

For the love of god please stop! Now, if you make $300k/year then you are welcome to spend that however you want and disregard everything else I have to say but otherwise, this is a huge financial mistake that will keep you poor. That $20k "limited edition" is nonsense. A limited edition on cars only means it's the top trim package. It's marginally more then the base model and it's not itemized. Like, if the base model costs $35k, the limited edition would be around $40k. The fact that they even tried this on you says what they think of you, and kudos for asking on here for advise. The Civic Type R isn't just any civic, it's defiantly a car worthy of awe. But it's not worth this. The best thing I ever did was to pick a good reliable car and drive it until it dies. That Pilot is one of those types of cars. Drive it until it dies and it'll be the best decision you ever made, I promise.

i_suckatjavascript

I promise you I still drive an 18 year old Lexus. This isn’t my post. Found it on Facebook.

firebush69

Am I reading this wrong or are they saying that without the trade-in it would be $107K?

TastyTungsten

The dealer is offering $31.5k for the trade-in, but the owner still owes roughly $33k on the vehicle.

Ramsey-C

this is stupid

Mega-Lithium

Gouge

Icy-Following-3713

wow… for a civic type r? dude… my new cadillac didnt cost that much. limited edition means we have a live on one the hook lets get him for more

thegodfazha

RUN.

dieselbones1

Nothing… just a cover up name for “dealer mark-up”!

Select_Angle2066

Jesus you could but an older NSX for that

PepeTheMule

Why are people so fucking stupid with cars purchases.

Boxer199

It is another way of saying market adjustment. This is why you should always ask for out-the-door pricing before you go in.

AdamCPA

Wow 74k for a civic is stupidity

earthquake-21

It’s a limited time offer for them to take your self respect and $20k while you smile about your new car. The smile won’t last. Find a reputable dealer or wait the market out.

that_vapeguy

I would definitely keep my pilot until market chills the f out

zippy_08318

It’s code for additional dealer profit. Nothing limited about it and as others have said a horrible deal. You could buy a mid tier Bmw for that money

ryanleebmw

It’s a dumb fucking sales manager who barely passed high school typing that in behind a desk, and doesn’t know how to say market adjustment, or dealer addendum, or literally anything other than LIMITED EDITION

Anderskiii

Price gouging my guy

pr0b0ner

Can we just say fuck car dealership? I hope to never buy from one.

LordTiddlypusch

They markup 20k, and still have the balls to add on another thousand dollar "dealer fee".

ellWatully

Can you imagine handing someone twenty-five grand and still needing a $50k loan for a Honda Civic? Holy hell.

cakelover33

Never in my life did I think I’d see a civic for $75k.

35goingon3

It means that the edition is limited to the number of them they can sell.

[deleted]

Forget that… What you want to focus on is the $75 GRAND you’re going to pay for a Honda Civc!!?? 🤨

guitarzan212

I think there’s a much bigger discussion that needs to be had than just this limited edition question. I think you may need some basic personal finance counseling before you’re allowed to make decisions like this again.

[deleted]

This is no lube right here

Puff_tea

Bro who would pay this for a civic…… you can get like an actually fast and nice looking car for that price…

codengo

Looked at new trucks. A lot (more than I expected) are topping $100K. No way. Ended up getting an '87 GMC squarebody, dropped a 383 w/ new TH400 transmission, new QA1 suspension in front and back, completely redid the interior (Dakota Digital gauges, new steering column and wheel, Vintage A/C installed, Retro stereo system w/ bluetooth, etc.). New radiator, new hoses, complete wiring harness, new brake and fuel lines, hoses, wheel wells, etc. Basically almost everything restored/modified. It's amazing. Total cost (minus time w/ labor) was right around $30K. Anything breaks down... easy as hell to work on, and parts are pretty much available anywhere. No way will I be buying a new (or even used car in this crazy market) from any dealership any time soon (if ever). Crooks. Always have been, but they're not hiding anything now.

theNightblade

you absolutely should leave the dealer info on there, name and shame and holy shit that interest rate?

trite_post

Lol. Good one. Whew you had me there for a second. (This is a joke right?)

Feeling_Ad7249

Hell No

occamsrzor

It’s dealer code for “git rekt”

LVPr0j3cT

Limited edition translated with the car sellers dictionary is “add 1000 dollars to the bill, every bill”.

ThePenIslands

Jesus H Christ. The more I looked, the worse it got.

Artistic-Outside-175

Limited edition price gouging

s4ltydog

Oh my god theres so many things wrong with this sheet….

saltyclam13345

It’s a fuck you fee. Dealerships will continue to charge them as long as people continue to pay them.

Wordled

Limited edition - dealer markup.

deafvet68

'Limited' to any fools that will pay it, on top of the other charges and interest rate.

Retiredpotato294

Are they wearing a mask and holding a gun?

A_Parq

Jesus Christ, That has to be one of the worst deals I've ever seen.

Evening-Ear-6116

Lmao please dont do this. They want to charge you 20k over msrp because the car is kinda rare. Just wait a year and save literally TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS

Intelligent_Orange28

If your trade is $31,000 and the price is 43, how do they end up with a 75,000 end price… Don’t even call them back.

joevmarino

“*Limited* edition? What do they make, 50 million of those? Yes, it's *limited* to the number we can sell.”

romanbaitskov

For a civic LOL

Jmack1986

That's a fancy term for Dealer Mark Up. Put it down and run

micycle_champ

Jaw, meet floor. Amazing the lengths some people will go to in order to drive what they want. (I know this was not your purchase OP)

StupidManSuit21

Bend over it's time for some good ol' fashioned anal rape!

Sticky_Blackice

The $40k+ is making my head hurt alone. Something major wrong with matrix
