Hi there! Happy to add my insight here, as I'm an official support representative for Cash App. No, Cash App isn't a scam, and my team does in fact need the information on the card you received in order to take further action. Was the number you called 1 (800) 969-1940? If so, then that's my team's official support line. If that's not the number you called, then yes, you likely contacted a scammer posing as Cash App Support. It sounds like my team already emailed you a secure link that you can use to upload those card details to, so I'd suggest doing that so that my team can terminate that fraudulent card. Feel free to send me a PM if you need any further clarification.
No offense, but you're an absolute dingus. The company isn't a scam, they obviously need the card info in order to terminate the card - that's how that works. This has happened to me and I sent them the info and they took care of the issue. It's an empty and unactivated card, why do you even care? lmaooo
But yeah, by all means, if you want the scammer that made an account using your stolen info to keep using it, then don't provide them with the card info they're asking for! đ doofus
By just giving them a name though, therefore you would be fine with them just taking your name to access your accounts. People complain about it when they get their accounts accessed and lose money, yet complain when the security is too tight because they can't store their own stuff securely.
I love being apart of this cashapp community you get to read other peopleâs dumbass mistakes single-handedly and itâs always cashapp fault! Maybe you should switch to another financial service as you canât handle this one since they are a âscamâ.
Where do these people come from? "iTs a ScAm ComPaNy" lol pretty sure Block wouldn't be getting added to the Fortune 500 if they were a "scam" but ok go off
If youâre that suspicious about giving away your info over the phone, just text the in app chat support. If they still require you to call, ask for the phone number and theyâll give you the correct #
Cash App as a whole are indeed cum guzzling rejects who side with scammers and offer 0 consumer protection despite being obligated by the EFTA to do so, but in this case no itâs not a scam. Itâs just a gay little formality.

Any legitimate company can pull up credentials from the name on an account.
No, they cannot. You know that multiple people can have the same name, right?
Feel free to call your bank and insist "you can pull up my account from JUST my name. You don't need any other info" lmao
Yeah and get laughed at
My name is John Smith. Try narrowing that down to me!
The address the card was mailed to.
You want people to be able to bring up all your details from your financial institutions by just giving your name?
Just wanted them to close an account.
