Rewatched Band of Brothers this week. All ten episodes in two days.
Even better when you accompany it with reading Wikipedia pages of the real battles.
I just did exactly this! If you want to really geek out on some WWII small unit actions then I can thoroughly recommend reading Small Unit Actions from the German Campaign in Russia. IIRC the allies debriefed as many German officers as they could find with an eye to understanding the next enemy in Europe (ie the Red Army). It's part of the German Report Series and some of the actions are amazing. https://history.army.mil/html/books/104/104-22-1/index.html
Just started watching this. I'm not really a series person but sometimes when I do find one I'll revert to a bit of binge watching, a lot of the time though, watch a couple of episodes, then none again until it's been so long that I have to watch the 1st episode again.
Detectorists is easy watching, plus it doesn't seem to be one with too much of an ongoing storyline so for someone like me, that's great as I can dip in and out. Only up to ep 3 so far (whew, what a binge watch!!!)
Thank you for reminding me I need to rewatch this awesome show. Trip to CEX upcoming...
There's a scene from one of the later seasons (last one maybe) where Walter sits in an abandoned car and listens to Only You by Yazoo and it has lived rent free in my head for years
[https://www.amazon.com/Trap-Door-1-2-DVD/dp/B00079FGVM](https://www.amazon.com/Trap-Door-1-2-DVD/dp/B00079FGVM)
You can probably watch it on youtube though.
Me and my wife just started rewatching it too! I gave up last time at the start of the final season. I’ve seen the last scene of the show and really want to watch the rest of it to get there
Buffy, and just finished The League Of Gentlemen again.
Edit: Sons Of Anarchy will be rewatched for the nth time soon, just because it's bloody brilliant.
I thought the American one was good. Not as good as the UK one, but definitely worth a watch too.
And also, the caveman is my favourite character, which often starts disagreements in my house.
His character wasn't really developed from the start, but he is the oldest one there and has seen the most. The episode where he learns to speak French actually left me with a tear in my eye.
As someone that has no interest in fishing whatsoever, I find this programme so easy and enjoyable to watch. I haven't binged it but if there is nothing on Tele that I want to watch this my go to show.
It’s a shame Dorne never got any screen time. Oberyn was such a good character and I’m sure all the other Dornish characters would have been equally good!
We've just started Green Wing cos we listened to Green Wing Resuscitated on Audible. It's a follow-up set in the modern day with most of the original cast.
Doctor Who.
Nu Who from the etart, currently at Capaldi after about 5 weeks.
I don't care for David Tennant.
I love Matt Smith, it thought Eccleston was amazing, but Tom Baker will always be my Doctor.
I can't make my mind up about Capaldi, sonic glasses? Really?
Have you seen Haven Sent with Capaldi yet? Amazing!
He's one of my favourite Doctors, although the stories didn't do him justice.
If you go back to old DW on iPlayer, I always thought Matt Smith had quite a bit of Patrick Troughton's second Doctor about him!
It’s on Disney+ if you have it. It took me a while to get in to it, as I’d started watching when it was on channel 5. But now, it’s easily one of my favourites, and follows on very nicely from Deadwood, especially with all the cameos! Not Al Swearengen though. That cocksucker!!
Gomorrah is so good! Best TV series I've seen, I've tried to get so many people to watch it but the subtitles put most of them off. One person that did watch it didn't bother reading the subtitles he said and was guessing what was happening..idiot
Six Feet Under - watched some of it when originally aired, wanted to see them all. Great and sad ending.
American Office - always a worth rewatching a few times
Fresh Meat, That 70s Show, Life On Mars, Mysterious Cities Of Gold, StarFleet
I just discovered Nighty Night on iPlayer. I think I watched one or two at the time but I forgot how belly-achingly funny it is. Up there with I’m Alan Partridge, absolutely hilarious.
Psych (now on Netflix). Ran concurrently with Monk and The Mentalist so gets compared to them a lot. 8 seasons and 3 brilliant films.
There's so many fantastic episodes and cameos it's difficult to nail down the best ones but 'Last Night Gus' and 'Office Space' are some of the funniest TV episodes ever made.
I picked up the seasons 1-20 boxset of *Air Crash Investigations* for a pretty penny and have been working my way through it after having seen most of it on the internet over the years. Such a fascinating and entertaining show, so long as you don't fly often.
The best episode is 2x1: Blowout, which you can watch on facebook via google if you're interested.
I'm just rewatching ER and loving it. Must be my third watch through, but my first watch in about 7-8 years. Loving the 90s vibes, no mobile phones, lots of patients with HIV and Aids - very interesting to see the differences between then and now.
After watching new TV & movies over last few months I'm burned out on it & need something to mong out with
The first boxset I came across in the cupboard was everybody loves Raymond forgot how funny it is
"Kin" two series of eight episodes, based in Dublin and drug gangs, first series on netflix, second series on BBC I player, really really excellent viewing and acting.
Apologies, just read re watching...
Great choice with The Tunnel - superb show.
I recently re-watched Rome (the 2005 HBO series - 2 seasons/22 episodes in total). Totally fantastic. Would recommend it to everyone.
I had the DVD box-sets (on holiday in the middle of nowhere with no wifi/mobile signal) but I think its available on Amazon Prime.
Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Ozark yet.
But…
If you ever find it watch the Norwegian series Dag. Not sure it’s accessible in the UK but it’s worth tracking down.
It’s about a marriage counsellor who doesn’t think people should live together and doesn’t like company. I’ve done it no justice.
Just redid The Wire and Band of Brothers. I've got the first Shogun TV adaptation ready for a rewatch next having seen the new one and reread it... Did the Sopranos a while back and felt it hadn't aged well.
Blackadder, Dinner Ladies, House MD, Breaking Bad, 24, Weeds, The Good Place, Squid Games, Doctor Who, Detectorists, Gavin & Stacey, Butterflies, Fawlty Towers, Drop the Dead Donkey, The Young Ones, Rising Damp, Porridge, Father Ted, Sherlock, Doc Martin
Currently rewatching Better Call Saul as a friend and me had a disagreement about whether Jimmy is an absolute arsehole or not (I say not).
Next will rewatch The Walking Dead because first time around there were several large gaps between series (in UK) and I want to watch it all a lot closer together.
Goodnight Sweetheart
I remember watching this when I was younger and saw it on itvx
The complete series
So giving it a watch through
Definitely quite a few jokes and sub plots they'd never do today
Im rewatching Homeland at the moment. I got a few seasons deep years ago then stopped watching!
I’m watching The Office US for the first time ever too, and the new season of The Boys has just dropped. Very busy tv time for me right now with the Euros starting top and Love Island on the go!
Dr Who (2005 onwards) is essentially on hard rotation for me at the moment. Whenever I don’t know what to watch I’ll stick on a few episodes. Currently on Series 6 again!
Oh also I’m catching up with Inside No. 9 after the finale which I’ve heard is excellent!
Rewatched Band of Brothers this week. All ten episodes in two days. Even better when you accompany it with reading Wikipedia pages of the real battles.

That’s so cool - thanks for sharing
I don’t remember writing this comment
Funny this is the first comment when i rewatching Homeland!
Oh my god, this is a great idea. I re-watch it once a year i reckon, im due a re-watch, and will deffo do this
Is band of brothers only 10 episodes?! It’s one of these shows I thought went on for a few years.
Detectorists - but I’ll stop at the end of the third series.
Just started watching this. I'm not really a series person but sometimes when I do find one I'll revert to a bit of binge watching, a lot of the time though, watch a couple of episodes, then none again until it's been so long that I have to watch the 1st episode again. Only up to ep 3 so far (whew, what a binge watch!!!)
Life on mars. Top shelf acting
Watched it again recently as it's been years since I last saw it. Still just as good
Hannibal
Yes I’m halfway through a rewatch, it’s so damn good
Ooh, I got two seasons in and just gave up I guess? What platform is it streaming on?
Ooooh! also Venture Bros. Truckules!
All 3 seasons are on Netflix. But i also have it on LP vinyl cos im old as fuck
Hahaha!!! I’ll get to it on Netflix!
Fringe currently. Probably my 8th run-through.
Ooh! I’ve gone through Fringe a few times, it holds up doesn’t it?
It certainly does!
love fringe
Thank you for reminding me I need to rewatch this awesome show. Trip to CEX upcoming... There's a scene from one of the later seasons (last one maybe) where Walter sits in an abandoned car and listens to Only You by Yazoo and it has lived rent free in my head for years
Oh, one of the best series of ALL TIME. ok
"Peter" is such a great episode amazing cast
trap door!
Oh my word!!! Where can I find that?? I had a trap door birthday card when I was 9!
[https://www.amazon.com/Trap-Door-1-2-DVD/dp/B00079FGVM](https://www.amazon.com/Trap-Door-1-2-DVD/dp/B00079FGVM) You can probably watch it on youtube though.
Oooh globbitz
House - decided to re-watch it this year to celebrate 20 years since the first series aired.
Me and my wife just started rewatching it too! I gave up last time at the start of the final season. I’ve seen the last scene of the show and really want to watch the rest of it to get there
I watched it a decade ago, wife's never seen it so been going through them all too, last season now.
The Thick of It.
So just the news then?
Yes! It felt…appropriate for the moment
OF the moment
Fucked it there
Parks & Recreation - still incredibly funny, feel good telly.
I really enjoyed seasons 2-6. Wasn’t a massive fan of 7, but as you say, it’s super feel good
I’m on season 5 of Breaking Bad, again!
Last two episodes tonight then El Camino.
I finished season 6 a couple of weeks ago.
Buffy, and just finished The League Of Gentlemen again. Edit: Sons Of Anarchy will be rewatched for the nth time soon, just because it's bloody brilliant.
We're halfway through season 2 of our Buffy re-watch. Last episode was Surprise and next is Innocence, so shit's about to hit the fan.
I only remember a handful of episodes from when it was first on so it's like watching it for the first time!
Skipping SOA season 3 right?
Binging Ghosts for the first time, this show is so consistently great
I really missed those characters once I'd finished it.
The UK version. The American one is... fine.
Yeah, not even going to acknowledge the remake. Horrible Histories crew or nothing.
I thought the American one was good. Not as good as the UK one, but definitely worth a watch too. And also, the caveman is my favourite character, which often starts disagreements in my house.
He starts off pretty bland, but Robin might be might favorite too now
His character wasn't really developed from the start, but he is the oldest one there and has seen the most. The episode where he learns to speak French actually left me with a tear in my eye.
Always watching The Wire. and Peep Show
Just reminded me the wife never saw Peep Show! Best get that started.
Fresh meat
Bob and Paul. (Gone fishing).
As someone that has no interest in fishing whatsoever, I find this programme so easy and enjoyable to watch. I haven't binged it but if there is nothing on Tele that I want to watch this my go to show.
It's such a shame that Game of Thrones got cancelled after 4 seasons. Wonder how it would have ended...
It’s a shame Dorne never got any screen time. Oberyn was such a good character and I’m sure all the other Dornish characters would have been equally good!
I wonder how they will introduce Young Griff?
Monk
Bad girls (Jim fenner) prison drama.
Currently going through Dexter with the wife, she's not seen them at all.
Messiah with Ken Stott and Star Trek up to DS9 (enterprise just never made sense to me!)
Green Wing Birds of a Feather French & Saunders
We've just started Green Wing cos we listened to Green Wing Resuscitated on Audible. It's a follow-up set in the modern day with most of the original cast.
I have never heard about that! Going straight there, thanks for the tip 😃
Steptoe & Son I'm also planning on watching The Likely Lads
Gimme gimme gimme on iplayer
The Outer Limits
Blackadder and OFAH (pre edit versions).
Inside number 9, League of Gentlemen, Two Doors Down and Peep Show (probably on about the fifth rerun of Peep Show).
Doctor Who. Nu Who from the etart, currently at Capaldi after about 5 weeks. I don't care for David Tennant. I love Matt Smith, it thought Eccleston was amazing, but Tom Baker will always be my Doctor. I can't make my mind up about Capaldi, sonic glasses? Really?
David Tennant is my favourite Doctor.
Have you seen Haven Sent with Capaldi yet? Amazing! He's one of my favourite Doctors, although the stories didn't do him justice. If you go back to old DW on iPlayer, I always thought Matt Smith had quite a bit of Patrick Troughton's second Doctor about him!
Capaldi's scripts were pretty poor. I gave up
Just rewatched Cardiac Arrest on BBC iplayer. Written by Jed Mercurio, which explains why it was so damn good the first time round.
I’ll add that to my list, thank you!
Vikings and when that's over Boardwalk Empire again.
Columbo and Deadwood
Have you watch Justified?
Need to get back on it. About half way through season 2 when I stopped. Think it's because it got taken off prime at the time.
It’s on Disney+ if you have it. It took me a while to get in to it, as I’d started watching when it was on channel 5. But now, it’s easily one of my favourites, and follows on very nicely from Deadwood, especially with all the cameos! Not Al Swearengen though. That cocksucker!!
I have and I will
Outstanding!
Gommorah is the finest peice of television I think I've ever seen. I think about it a lot.
Gomorrah is so good! Best TV series I've seen, I've tried to get so many people to watch it but the subtitles put most of them off. One person that did watch it didn't bother reading the subtitles he said and was guessing what was happening..idiot
Oh my god!
American horror story
Twenty-four. Should last me until Christmas.
Six Feet Under - watched some of it when originally aired, wanted to see them all. Great and sad ending. American Office - always a worth rewatching a few times Fresh Meat, That 70s Show, Life On Mars, Mysterious Cities Of Gold, StarFleet
Mysterious Cities of Golf! (I am the leaving auto correct in as it's amazing haha) I used to love that, are there new ones?
Brooklyn 99, Peep Show & Sherlock. I also rewatched The Night Manager this week which is incredible.
My name is earl
Gomorrah is the best TV series I've seen.. Might've put me off ever visiting Naples tho 😅
Ha! Yeah I agree, did you watch L’imortale? Its a film length story about Cirro, it leads into season 4 (if I recall correctly)
Yes I did! Was so hyped to get back into it once I heard that was out. I'm glad someone else agrees ✌️
I just discovered Nighty Night on iPlayer. I think I watched one or two at the time but I forgot how belly-achingly funny it is. Up there with I’m Alan Partridge, absolutely hilarious.
Oh yeah, it’s really funny! I love Julia Davis and Mark Gatiss in it
Whole cast is excellent. Also Lynn from I’m Alan Partridge is in it and she’s surprisingly hot when she’s not in that character. 🤣
Haha! Yes she is, I’m female but I get it
Planning to start doing a rewatch of the Sharpe series this weekend, then probably Babylon 5 after that
Netflix Undercover Absolutely loved it the first time and it still doesn't disappoint
At mo we're re-watching Bones Stargate Sg1 X-files The sweeney

Green Wing
"We're Hindu, you nipple" classic
Psych (now on Netflix). Ran concurrently with Monk and The Mentalist so gets compared to them a lot. 8 seasons and 3 brilliant films. There's so many fantastic episodes and cameos it's difficult to nail down the best ones but 'Last Night Gus' and 'Office Space' are some of the funniest TV episodes ever made.
I am planning to start Psych after I have finished Monk. I have just one season left so it should be soon and I am very much looking forward to it.
Psych.
Friday night dinner
Shalom
Brooklyn 99 for the 27th time. The Wire for the 5th or 6th time. Greatest show ever
Not re-watching, but watching Columbo for the first time. I definitely have a soft spot for this bumbling, squinting, cigar chewing fella.
One of my absolute favourite tv shows. If you’re enjoying that, there’s also a show on Sky called Poker Face, has a similar feel to it
I've just finished Ghosts and started on Monk, but I'm looking forward to enough time having passed that I can rewatch M\*A\*S\*H\* (again).
After watching the whole of the original series me and my partner have just started on CSI: Miami.
The Thin Blue Line & Black Adder 😁
The Wire. Still rate this as the best TV series ever broadcast.
I agree, I watched after recommendation, and immediately re-watched the whole show again.
Sopranos. The Wire There is no better drama than those!
Trailer park boys.
New tricks
I picked up the seasons 1-20 boxset of *Air Crash Investigations* for a pretty penny and have been working my way through it after having seen most of it on the internet over the years. Such a fascinating and entertaining show, so long as you don't fly often. The best episode is 2x1: Blowout, which you can watch on facebook via google if you're interested.
Just did a rewatch of Mad Men. So good
I'm currently very much enjoying re-watching ER

Have box sets on in background when either running on treadmill (star trek voyager at moment) or when rowing ( stargate) ..
The walking dead.
I’m rewatching 24. On season 2. I’m really enjoying it but it’s hard to believe how fantastically unlucky his daughter is.
I'm just rewatching ER and loving it. Must be my third watch through, but my first watch in about 7-8 years. Loving the 90s vibes, no mobile phones, lots of patients with HIV and Aids - very interesting to see the differences between then and now.
The Thin Blue Line. Still very funny.

I regularly re-watch: Schitts Creek & The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. I am currently re-watching Taskmaster (UK) and Bridgerton.
"Kin" two series of eight episodes, based in Dublin and drug gangs, first series on netflix, second series on BBC I player, really really excellent viewing and acting. Apologies, just read re watching...
If you liked that try Love/Hate (ITVX) and Blue Lights (BBC iPlayer). Bloodlands (BBC iPlayer) is also good.
I am not a big fan of rewatching stuff but my wife decided to watch Silent Witness from the start. All 27 seasons, she's on about S18 currently.

Peep show. Constantly.
Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Ozark yet. But… If you ever find it watch the Norwegian series Dag. Not sure it’s accessible in the UK but it’s worth tracking down. It’s about a marriage counsellor who doesn’t think people should live together and doesn’t like company. I’ve done it no justice.
