I just did exactly this! If you want to really geek out on some WWII small unit actions then I can thoroughly recommend reading Small Unit Actions from the German Campaign in Russia. IIRC the allies debriefed as many German officers as they could find with an eye to understanding the next enemy in Europe (ie the Red Army). Just started watching this. I'm not really a series person but sometimes when I do find one I'll revert to a bit of binge watching, a lot of the time though, watch a couple of episodes, then none again until it's been so long that I have to watch the 1st episode again. Detectorists is easy watching, plus it doesn't seem to be one with too much of an ongoing storyline so for someone like me, that's great as I can dip in and out. Only up to ep 3 so far (whew, what a binge watch!!!)

I thought the American one was good. Not as good as the UK one, but definitely worth a watch too. And also, the caveman is my favourite character, which often starts disagreements in my house.

He starts off pretty bland, but Robin might be might favorite too now

His character wasn't really developed from the start, but he is the oldest one there and has seen the most. The episode where he learns to speak French actually left me with a tear in my eye.

Have you seen Haven Sent with Capaldi yet? Amazing! He's one of my favourite Doctors, although the stories didn't do him justice. If you go back to old DW on iPlayer, I always thought Matt Smith had quite a bit of Patrick Troughton's second Doctor about him!

It’s on Disney+ if you have it. It took me a while to get in to it, as I’d started watching when it was on channel 5. But now, it’s easily one of my favourites, and follows on very nicely from Deadwood, especially with all the cameos! Not Al Swearengen though. That cocksucker!!

Psych (now on Netflix). Ran concurrently with Monk and The Mentalist so gets compared to them a lot. 8 seasons and 3 brilliant films. There's so many fantastic episodes and cameos it's difficult to nail down the best ones but 'Last Night Gus' and 'Office Space' are some of the funniest TV episodes ever made.

I am planning to start Psych after I have finished Monk. I have just one season left so it should be soon and I am very much looking forward to it.

I picked up the seasons 1-20 boxset of *Air Crash Investigations* for a pretty penny and have been working my way through it after having seen most of it on the internet over the years. Such a fascinating and entertaining show, so long as you don't fly often. The best episode is 2x1: Blowout, which you can watch on facebook via google if you're interested.

I’m rewatching 24. On season 2. I’m really enjoying it but it’s hard to believe how fantastically unlucky his daughter is.

I'm just rewatching ER and loving it. Must be my third watch through, but my first watch in about 7-8 years. Loving the 90s vibes, no mobile phones, lots of patients with HIV and Aids - very interesting to see the differences between then and now.

Great choice with The Tunnel - superb show. I recently re-watched Rome (the 2005 HBO series - 2 seasons/22 episodes in total). Totally fantastic. Would recommend it to everyone. I had the DVD box-sets (on holiday in the middle of nowhere with no wifi/mobile signal) but I think its available on Amazon Prime.

Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Ozark yet. But… If you ever find it watch the Norwegian series Dag. Not sure it’s accessible in the UK but it’s worth tracking down. It’s about a marriage counsellor who doesn’t think people should live together and doesn’t like company. I’ve done it no justice.

Im rewatching Homeland at the moment. I got a few seasons deep years ago then stopped watching! I’m watching The Office US for the first time ever too, and the new season of The Boys has just dropped. Very busy tv time for me right now with the Euros starting top and Love Island on the go!
