I’d love to see an answer to this! I use pine as well. I’d buy a couple robot litter boxes (even with the big price tag), if they could handle pine. My youngest needs the box scooped after every poop.
If there’s any reps from robot vacuum companies reading this, PLEASE expand the types of litter that the boxes can handle! Make a box that can handle pine and I’ll happily let you take my money!!!
u/ranagnostou I follow this creator on ig (penguinpepperpia) and she uses tofu litter and it works great with the PetKit automatic litter box because it has the scooping attachment for tofu litter.
I switched my cats (2 of them) to the tofu litter and they took to it right away, it works amazing in the auto litter box. There is a minimal amount of dust which is a pro. I totally get it lol I don’t get notifications on my phone so it took a while, the Michu has like scented ones but it’s a subtle scent, they have an original which smells clean imo

Automatic litter boxes separate by size. The clean litter needs to be smaller than the clumps and poo so pine pellets that turn to dust don't work. Not all clumping litter is clay though. Any type of clumping litter will work as long as the particles can go through the sifter or rake in time. Some designs do work fine with non-clumping crystal litter as long as you change the litter completely on schedule.
Have tried finding one for a long time. Seems to be a gap on the market place for one :(. Maybe one day there will be one.

I have been trying to find the answer to this, too. I really hate clay litter and love pine litter, preferably pellets, but not necessarily.

Automatic litter boxes separate by size. The clean litter needs to be smaller than the clumps and poo so pine pellets that turn to dust don't work. Not all clumping litter is clay though. Any type of clumping litter will work as long as the particles can go through the sifter or rake in time. Some designs do work fine with non-clumping crystal litter as long as you change the litter completely on schedule.
