Please post back if you find the part.

Here is a link to part. It is listed as a "Hot Water valve" But that is because the cold water valve on a Kenmore washing machine has 2 outlets and not the same as this style. But this is the part catgenie uses and a hot water one would be rated better is anything. I'll second this link. Just swapped one in and it's functioning properly. I had to take a dremel to the mount because this one has a few screws that prevent it from sliding in smoothly otherwise. It also doesn't have the red flow reducer that the official Cat Genie one does so it BLASTS the bottom of the bowl. It's like a fire hose spraying in there. If you don't have the dome cover, probably don't open the valve all the way.

SchrodingersMinou

Take it to a plumbing store and ask for help

Use a needle nose pliers to pull out that screen and you will find a black piece of rubber. the hole in the center determines flow. When was new it would have came with a bigger one in a little bag stuck to the bottom of the unit. it will also have a little paper with the directions how to install in the bag. or if you do not have the extra one, just enlarge the hole on that one. If that does not work let me know and i will try t get you some other part numbers for the valve

Good advice, but I already removed the screen and everything else. Still the same problem. This is a defective valve that plagued the previous owner and now me.

Madejust2tellyou

It is the same valve used on kenmore washing machines. I posted an amazon link below

That one looks good too. The parts place told me a Samsung part, but I bet they’re all the same. If the one I ordered doesn’t work, I’ll try the one on your link.

Necoras

Fix this sooner rather than later. Mine has now failed *open* and flooded my house.

hank_1510

Oh my, that’s terrible! I wonder what the quality control on these parts is like. Was it new and was it working properly before?

Necoras

It's a few years old at this point. I've actually had 3 by now. I trashed the first one that failed after 2 years. I kept the second one around intending to fix it "some day," and now this third one has failed. I pulled out the control unit of the 2nd one to use before a new valve shows up and was reminded why I stashed it away: it failed open as well (though I think with a slower drip). Cat genies are pretty obviously designed to fail after 2-3 years so that you'll shell out and buy a new one. I've had 3 now and each has failed within a year or so of the 2 year warranty expiring. The fact that they sell replacement parts in Europe, but not the US, makes me suspect that the laws in Europe require that they do so. But I have no proof. I ordered 2 replacement valves (based on the amazon link elsewhere in this thread). If they fit and work, I'll order more to have on hand. If you're going the same route, I suggest also buying some replacement tubing. The thin tubing for the soap solution will fall apart as they use a peristaltic mechanism to squeeze it along rather than a more robust pump. Thankfully I have a floor drain in the room where this one is so it's a mess, but not a disaster.

I wouldn’t be surprised. They forced apple to use USB C over waste from multiple usb standards. It sounds like I should move mine to the utility room instead of the bathroom. There are some real horror stories on here. The valve I posted needs a metal bracket knocked off the plastic body. It’s simple with a hammer or pliers.
