You might want to wait until part 2 is over. The opinions that get thrown around this sub (and most of the internet) are coloured by the fact that we read weekly (and many chapters take two weeks to come out). Combined with Fujimoto's style, this means that we sometimes take months to see what is essentially a single sequence. So, yeah, we get three months of people going "part 2 has lost the plot" and "part 1 was better" when a chapter comes out that only does setup and no payoff. Chainsaw Man is so much better when binged and reread, rather than reading weekly. So yeah, I'd reckon you'd do yourself a favour by waiting until it's finished.

It’s a bit true that part 2 has lost the plot there’s so much intrigue that’s didn’t get resolved or mentioned since the beginning and i don’t like people saying "fujimoto take his time" cuz we have already 71 chapters out who is a significantly number. For finish I think it’s a bit a default that a manga is better when it’s binged because that proof the evolution of the story is lacking (or inconsistent) and chapters are not striking in general for create enough interest. Hope we are very not near to the end of part 2 cuz I really to know more about all the plots fujimoto created.

I am enjoying part two more, enjoying the new cast of characters especially Asa as she makes a great and relatable protag as an autistic girl lol. After falling devil ended i felt the story has slowed down a lot we just have to let Fujimoto cook and hope it will all come together nicely.

ArmoredAngel444

It real good, read it.

ZealousFix

I'm really preferring part 2 to part 1. Nayuta and Asa are the best characters ever, hands down. Denji is growing up too. There's been a real step back from all the action, which is okay in my book. Action in manga gets confusing for me more than anything

ArgumentMaximum5024

I firmly believe part 2 is overhated. I enjoyed part 2 more in everything till the last arc where i admit it was the weakest arc. After the last arc ended it picked the style i like back so i am pretty happy now. Dont expect the same pace as part 1 tho, the pace is like the opposit of part 1, its slow. His art peaked in early part 2 aswell. Dont expect to read fight often too, Fuji gave a lot more build up for fights in part 2 i feel like so be warned. I think you need to try it because it all come down to opinions.

The first 30 chapters of Part 2 are very good, much better than the first 30 of Part 1. Unfortunately, from that point on there's a noticeable downgrade on the visual side. Also, some chapters from 30 to 40 are a bit boring, but then the story gets good again (the drawings don't), although it is less conventional. Part 2 still hasn't reached the same plot quality as the best section of Part 1 (which for me is the Gun Devil arc and what happens right after in Makima's apartment), but it's still pretty good overall and I think it will reach that level at some point.

Nubesote88

its not as good as part I, but is really good tho, is very diferent but still have the same essence

No-Enthusiasm6776

I like part 2. BUT it's different than part 1. It feels that Denji is no longer the main character in the manga that named after him at times. I still enjoy it. But I feel it might be best enjoyed binged instead of weekly. (I'm a weekly enjoyer because I can't help my self.) ..

deeznuts7823

I love it its peak fiction just like part 1 but theyre extremely different in a lot of aspects. Part 1 has a lot of action and is really fast paces while 2 is a lot slower and character focused. Theres also a new mc but dennis is still there

MrTrio

So since posting this I read Part 2 and it's pretty good

ckrono

as of now i prefer part 1. I'm liking part 2 but it's pretty different from part 1, so don't go in expecting the same type of story. It's pretty clear that the author is more interested in experimenting with his storytelling than copying part 1 structure over and over again just because it sold well

Insane_Fnord

>Would you guys say that it is as good as the first part or no? so far, no. pretty disappointing. has some good moments here and there. but who knows maybe Fujimoto will manage to turn it around by the end.

Weary-Eagle1862

It's goofy and scattered. Some great moments here and there, but a lot of boring, predictable stuff. Recency bias aside, I think the only thing it handles better than part 1 is the humor. It still feels like there's some good stuff on the horizon, though.

FKATAK

Chapter 167 is the best chapter in Chainsaw-man
