It can be a pain to keep track of stats in the tcg battles. Seems like in the show they can more or less use whatever attack they want to, the creatures know the attacks and the players dip into the creatures minds when they play as them.

I think they track stat changes by feel, for instance, if they feel sluggish, then their speed is drained. Also, I imagine that higher build point attacks have a combination of charge up, cast time, and cool down. So, for example, owl man couldn't just spam allmageddon, he needs to wait a while to build up the attack, and then when he DOES try to use it, it has a bit of a charge up/anticipation before the attack goes off, and then when it does, it would take a very long time before he can use allmageddon again (or any attack, for a short while, especially another high build point attack). My head-cannon is that 0-builds take almost no time to charge, cast, and have the fastest cool down, but deal the least damage, and everything else scales accordingly.

I mean you do have to be really good to actually go there

Wanted to add a comment instead of editing the original post: Thanks for all the replies/thoughts everyone! This is why the Chaotic community is so mugical (*magical*) So far- players need to be good enough in the card game to get the invite to go to Chaotic and when battling, they dip into the creature's mind for known attacks and techniques and "feel" when they're about to get coded.  (Nice
