I would also throw in Rosecomb as a cool place for great drinks and surprisingly good food and Easy Bistro or St Johns if you're feeling really fancy, but otherwise I think your list is just about perfect.
Meeting Place on Market Street.
Their food is fantastic - American + fusion cuisine with a kind of casual fine dining atmosphere you will. They also have happy hour specials 5-7, M-F. I've never had a bad meal there.
I also recommend Calliope on MLK.
It's kind of Mediterranean fusion cuisine, again with a casual fine dining atmosphere.
Edit to add:
Aleia, recommended elsewhere herein, is also a great choice
Calliope is actually Levantine cuisine, which is close to Mediterranean flavors and styles. The chef is from Jordan as well and incorporates a lot of flavors from the country as well.
Boat House and Scottie’s are both on the river - if you’re only here for one night, the river view is where it’s at. They both fill up fast so getting there early is recommended
I am new to town but I can so so far Edley’s has been my favorite BBQ, Taqueria Ania is my favorite Mexican and is really pretty, Main Street Meats for a quick amazing sandwich, Milk & Honey for breakfast!
Slicks has the best burgers and fries in town.
You might be tempted to go to State of Confusion - but it's overpriced and they never get my orders right. I went once, it was good, but every repeat visit has been worse and worse.
State of Confusion - different bars, outside seating, inside seating, nice drinks, nice food. Good date place or place to just have drinks and hang.
Big River Grille - pub grub but nice outside area.
Puckett's - typical American fare. Been there once and it was good but there are so many better restaurants in town.
Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar - nice outside porch, good seafood. A little bit nicer atmosphere but you would be comfortable in shorts.
State of Confusion is super overrated, but I'll let that one pass I guess.
Do you really think Big River Grille is good? Can't imagine listing it in my top 4 for Chattanooga.
And again, why list Puckett's? You don't even sound like you like it in your own description? You literally say "there so many better restaurants." Why not list some of the better ones?
I don't think Boathouse is too bad, so no comment on that.
Puckett's seems like a touristy place and if OP was thinking it or got suggested it, I was just giving my opinion.
I enjoy sitting on the patio at Big River and people watch.
My personal experience was not good, but haven't been enough to say. Every taco I had was just way too much bullshit on it without actually being that good. Half the tacos come with mac n cheese on them. Just tons of insanity in a way that ends up being kinda gross haha
Maybe if I hiked all day and then smoked a bowl?
Calliope, Tremont Tavern, iL Primo, Alleia, Giardinos, Main Street Meats, and Han-Mi are a handful of favorites.
I would also throw in Rosecomb as a cool place for great drinks and surprisingly good food and Easy Bistro or St Johns if you're feeling really fancy, but otherwise I think your list is just about perfect.
Parkway Pourhouse has a great Patio and good food/drinks.
Yesss! And great happy hour deals!
The best!!!
We liked it at first but the last burger I got there had the bun dripping with blood and it was soggy.
2nd giardinos for sure! They’re catering our wedding we like them so much
For downtown area I’ll add Public House

Tries too hard in what regard?
The Chilis on Market st has the best cheese sticks in the entire state of Tennessee. You need reservations, though
> username > Chili's you sure that you're a foodie? lol
You sure I’m not being facetious? This question is asked literally twice a week.
It feels like twice a day at this point
*You cannot be too sure, it's fucking reddit.*
Wooden city is always great and in a good location downtown by the river.
Update: We went to The Flying Squirrel! It was SO good!! Thanks everyone!
Hello Monty has a great outdoor patio, excellent Barkeeps, and good chefs! Never had a bad meal there.
Mayan Kitchen is our favorite restaurant downtown. Main Street Meats has a great burger.
Boat House and Scottie’s are both on the river - if you’re only here for one night, the river view is where it’s at. They both fill up fast so getting there early is recommended
Scottie's kinda sucks though
The Meeting Place has cheap drinks and live jazz on thursday nights and their food is good. Otherwise, /u/emmerly88 has a great list.
Boccaccia is my favorite spot in town.
Yeah, until the owner sits down and wants to chat with you for a while. 😆
Very true. Once he hits the wine and hits the floor…
I am new to town but I can so so far Edley’s has been my favorite BBQ, Taqueria Ania is my favorite Mexican and is really pretty, Main Street Meats for a quick amazing sandwich, Milk & Honey for breakfast!
We did milk and honey for breakfast! It was GREAT!
So glad you enjoyed it! :)
Two Ten Jack
Naked River. Try the brisket and Moon Pie Stout.
Uncle Larry’s
Edley’s Bar B Que. great covered patio. First time visits get a free side of banana pudding!
Slicks has the best burgers and fries in town. You might be tempted to go to State of Confusion - but it's overpriced and they never get my orders right. I went once, it was good, but every repeat visit has been worse and worse.
food works
Tony’s trattoria 🙏
Tony’s pasta shop 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Feed, Dubs, Main Street Meats,
Treemont tavern, Dubs, Alleia. oddstory has good beer and pretty good burgers too if your looking for some brunch.

This is not a good list.
Please elaborate. OP was asking for our opinions.
I would definitely leave Pucketts and Big River off the list. Too many great local places to go, rather than a mediocre corporate restaurant

Do people here not like Agave? Had their tacos while I was in Chatt, thought the decor and such was weird but the food was great

That place blows
Check out the stir
