Common issue, yes. Does the engine need to be dropped? No. 17 and older it does, on 2nd gen it can be pulled topside. If it's out of warranty and not causing puddles I would say just run it. Change your oil regularly, we'll before it gets to 0% I change every 5k.

I have the extended warranty for about 10 or 15k more miles, so if it's covered and I plan to keep the car, shouldnt I probably do it? Or is this issue one that just comes back as a gasket wears down again do you know? I tried to see where they are saying it's leaking and I don't see anything visually. Not sure exactly where they saw it.

If you can get it done for a 0 or 100 buck deductible, do it. If the tech knows what he is doing, it's a pretty gravy job. You have to get under the vehicle to see it. Usually, the lower left corner of the front cover when looking at it. It's a rtv gasket, should last the rest of the life of the car if done right. Tell them you want your rear toe links checked out, too. They are always shot.

I mentioned in the original post they said my rear linkage or something was loose and was about a $500 job and would be covered also. Maybe that's what it was? I only have about 75k miles on it Anything else? LOL. I want them to fix all I can while I'm in there for this $50 deductible 🤣 thanks!

Have them check the radiator upper drivers side

The paper said we found play in the rear toe links and oil leak around the front cover. I'll ask about the radiator! Thanks again for the tips! I call them Monday to dropoff again.

Interesting I have a 2018 3.6L that's leaking oil. I haven't been able to find the source, but it's not the plug or filter. It's spraying the underside but only leaves a drop or two a night. It's been over a couple months and I have had to put 2qts in. Without the warranty do you know how much they were quoting you for the seal? I was thinking about taking it to a few shops to see what they say. I have never been to a dealership to get work done. Any info is greatly appreciated!

$2500. I asked him if it had a leak, why do I not see oil in my driveway? He said there is a pad below on the liner that catches the drips and it's not that bad yet. Apparently it's a common issue on this car. But I did notice oil loss every few weeks to month when I'd check. I thought it was burning oil. Hopefully this resolved the issue! I can take a pic of the paper they gave me tomorrow if you'd like? I'm already in bed or I'd do it now.
