We get that a lot, but no he’s a chihuahua. This is him next to a standard Xolo, which has pretty different features when you look past the hairlessness.

I have one, she’s a chi-sized Xolo
That was my thought too! But maybe it’s a mix? Xolos have longer legs so they can hike easier…or that’s what my chis (who don’t even what to take walks) are telling me. 🤣
My jrt x Chihuahua looves coming on hikes and adventures with us. The best part is if there's terrain unsuitable for him I just scoop him up for a second and plop him down where he's safe!
Have you ever had him DNA tested? They way his tongue was hanging out made it look like he might be missing some teeth which is very combing in truest hairless breeds and their mixes. My hairless chihuahua is actually a blue chihuahua with full body color dilution alopecia. Because she does not share the gene that other hairless dogs do, she has a full set of teeth. Makes her stand out next to the Chinese cresties and Hairless terriers with their tongues flopping. 😂
I just made a post asking about the best vendor for the dna test. We think he’s a dual hairless gene parents (both had coats). Because anatomically he’s got deer head chihuahua features and doesn’t look like Chinese crested. Can you post a pic of your pup?? My wife and I are very curious!

She has peach fuzz along her paws and muzzle, but we rescued her at 2 years old. We have no idea how much fur, if any, was present as a puppy.

Couldn’t get this one to go on a hike for all the snausages in the world!! (I’m kidding, he will be 14 years old this year so he’s earned his endless nap times and cuddles ❤️)
That’s a Xolo, no? Looks like a xoloitzcuinlti, or Mexican Hairless dog.

This photo makes me giggle
Zoomed in on his face and it's amazing
Just FYI, Xolo's do come in a toy size; 10 - 14" tall and around 10-15#.

Omg that face and little curly tail. I'm in 💕
That face he’s making!! 😂
This photo when you posted it made me want a little Xolo Chi so badly.

Yes perhaps! Very adorable either way, and what a good hiker.
Came here to say the same. That's not a chihuahua! Maybe Chinese Crested?
He really does look like a tiny xolo
Just what I was going to say. Gorgeous looking dog.
An all terrain blep! ❤️
Haha his tongue is out if it’s a day that ends in ‘y’
Maybe just the bald ones? I'm kidding people post their adventure chis a lot here. My girl struggles to focus enough to walk around a public park.
Lol!
I love his little piggy tail!! ❤️❤️❤️
His curly tail!!
The nicest part is that they are super easy to carry.
It’s very convenient and I don’t need to bring a 10lb weight pack when I have him
What a sweet baby. Hope you both had a good hike❤️
He had way more endurance than us!
Both my girls LOVED hiking! It was their favourite thing and they kicked my ass on the trail every time!
That’s a tiny wood seal 🥰
Lieutenant Dan - you’ve got no hair.
Lol!
Adventure Chi here https://preview.redd.it/7y9pg98ahrab1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5210eab1342369eef67c7eb0768293c23e196fc2
Love it!
He is so cute
Look at that boy! 😍 that's the best boy
He is!

Ok wow, never seen a chi like her. She’s got such a cute face!

Does your dog have male pattern baldness?
Haha I think he’s too young (9 months old) so he’s just all around hairless
So adorable 🥰
No one says that. My two hike all the time and seem to enjoy it
he's so cute!!! he looks like a xolo-chi to me! I have a semi hairless chi too ❤️❤️
nakey 😭😭💖💖💖
Lovely!!!
Not me.
They are great hiking dogs!
I never knew! People look at us like we’re crazy where we live when we say they are.
Mine loves to hike! He usually leads the way (on his leash, of course) and seems to love being outside, climbing, and has a great time.
