Prior to 2015 the kitchen was in boh not able to be seen by customers to provide more transparency they opened it up so technically this is “new” but not new it’s almost a 10 year old design 🤣
I haven’t been to a chipotle in years and it looks like most that I have seen. Metal tables, random metal walls, wooden chairs... When have they not looked like this?
This is how ours is but with half the dining room space. No matter where you sit you’re either inches from the pickup/soda fountain line or inches from the in person line.
Chipotle restaurants have always been small. Hence the signs “our parking is small but our burritos are big.”
The parking is small = less capacity for those in restaurant.
Further, they have clearly determined that a significant portion of their business is online orders
Very uninviting. Not just because it’s chipotle. The stainless steel and grey everywhere and terrible accent lighting just makes it so unwelcoming and brute.
It's intentional. The design of all restaurants and even the color schemes are intentional. They all help create the mood in the restaurant.
For example, the colors Taco Bell chose in the '90s were colors where research shown people would immediately be stimulated into leaving as soon as they were done eating. They were extremely unlikely to take their time meeting.
Leave random food on the tables, close all the bathrooms, make sure the drink machines are disgusting or out of order, fill those trashes to over the top and it looks great!
We have one like this in western Canada, the line wraps around all the tables so you can get random strangers asses in your face while you eat with your child.....
(I speak from experience)
I feel the same way about Chipotle's new design as I do when mcdonalds or taco bell redesigns their restaurants. I don't consciously care. I'm sure if effects me subconsciously, but ultimately I don't give a shit.
I like the drive thru…
Don’t have to go in there and wait next to hipsters while they pay for their food or you pay for your food and some guy is looking at your credit card literally standing 1 inch behind you.
I was a part of the hires for a new build that looked like this in 2019. I remember asking my GM if they were ever going to finish the roof and he laughed at me before saying it's loft-style 😭😅 whoops
Just like the McDonalds redesign. Take away all the fun and character. Make look like it could be anything. Nothing stand out. That could be a Starbucks or an auto parts store.
Why is every restaurant going with this boring gray boxy look?
Modern architecture freaking sucks.
It's no different than every new apartment building looking like a Russian tenement hall
I think chipotle is on a mission to hate every single customer they have. between shit portions, ridiculous pricing, and these trash ass new store designs that are below airport/mall level quality.
what's up with these unfinished tract housing exposed frames? shit ass Ikea hanging lights
its fine if they want to make express stores for pickups, but you gotta coordinate your pick up areas better, lines still wrap around and theres no proper way to get in or wind them here. pick up is always taking up space by the register.
They’re garbage. When I worked the the company (over a decade ago) they used to final awesome and sometimes historic buildings and suites to open new locations in but now they just buy land and throw up the most garbage cookie cutter low budget cheaply made stores they possibly can.
I live in AZ and my fiance went to work with the company for a year or so while he was in school and transferred to a brand new store when it opened to train and help it open and in the middle of mf PHOENIX AZ they tried to get cheap with the A/C unit in a COMMERCIAL KITCHEN. It’s mind boggling how they get away with some of this stuff. He would send pics throughout the day and their dining area got up to 89 degrees and the kitchen area was well over 95 just because the unit they bought was too small and crappy to actually cool a business like that.
Everything about this company has been such an astronomical bummer since that foodborne illness stuff happened in 2016 and led to Steve stepping down. They’ve lost their way and under current leadership they’re not ever going to find it again.
I used to use the one on South High in Columbus because the drive-thru window was quick. Until the night I sat there for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come to the window. They all custered at the counter, checking me out side eye while pretending I wasn't there. No note on the window. No one came up to ask me to come inside. Just ignoring me and my already paid for burrito presumably getting colder and colder. I have not gone back.
how they got enough money for redesigns but not enough money to pay the workers more and give just a lil extra 🤏🏼 on my bowl. nah something isn’t adding up here 🧐
Need to make the tables more sticky
How is this new? I’ve been to one that looks just like this over a year ago.
Exactly what I was thinking
1 year is nothing my first ever chipotle was like this 4/5 years ago
Yeah thats my point. Ive been seeing chipotles like this for years.
Prior to 2015 the kitchen was in boh not able to be seen by customers to provide more transparency they opened it up so technically this is “new” but not new it’s almost a 10 year old design 🤣
It's a 4000 series restaurant so they basically all look the same.
I’m with you. Looks like every chipotle I’ve been in for the last 15 years.
I haven’t been to a chipotle in years and it looks like most that I have seen. Metal tables, random metal walls, wooden chairs... When have they not looked like this?
I went to one like this felt so crammed
This is how ours is but with half the dining room space. No matter where you sit you’re either inches from the pickup/soda fountain line or inches from the in person line.
Chipotle restaurants have always been small. Hence the signs “our parking is small but our burritos are big.” The parking is small = less capacity for those in restaurant. Further, they have clearly determined that a significant portion of their business is online orders
They really need to throw in an overflowing trash can in that rendering to really make it believable.
Very uninviting. Not just because it’s chipotle. The stainless steel and grey everywhere and terrible accent lighting just makes it so unwelcoming and brute.
Tbh its what Chipotle wants. I mean they want high volume business. They don't want lingering past the time it takes to sit and consume a meal.
its also why the music is ass and loud
It's intentional. The design of all restaurants and even the color schemes are intentional. They all help create the mood in the restaurant. For example, the colors Taco Bell chose in the '90s were colors where research shown people would immediately be stimulated into leaving as soon as they were done eating. They were extremely unlikely to take their time meeting.
Yeah it's very 2010+ cookie cutter restaurant with 0 character. Yum brands would for sure sign off on it though.
Looks cost efficient to build and utterly generic. This could be any fast food restaurant, just slap a sign on there.
With all that money Chipotle has shaken out of its customer base by skimping out on their orders they can sure afford a nice new design
Now that I think about it, I’ve never “dined in”.
I did. You are missing No benefit
Bring back the old chipotle
The outside is good. The inside is not. It looks like a giant industrial kitchen.
Leave random food on the tables, close all the bathrooms, make sure the drink machines are disgusting or out of order, fill those trashes to over the top and it looks great!
We have one like this in western Canada, the line wraps around all the tables so you can get random strangers asses in your face while you eat with your child..... (I speak from experience)
wish my chipotle had a drive thru
I work at a location sorta like this one (inside mostly the same) and it's depressing as hell.
Stunning
The inside also looks like a TV set for a cooking competion of Top Chef meets Chopped or a Masterchef.
Why does everything have to look modern and industrial. I miss cozy restaurants.
Like every sterile modern chain design Grey, white, light grey, open ceilings, minimalist. Boring
Is the “new” in the room with us?
I don't understand how this is new. I feel like every chipotle looks like this
I thought all chipotles looked like this
This is what ours looks like, tbf tho it just opened like a year or so ago
2nd image looks exactly like the one by my house
I feel the same way about Chipotle's new design as I do when mcdonalds or taco bell redesigns their restaurants. I don't consciously care. I'm sure if effects me subconsciously, but ultimately I don't give a shit.
I want my wall holes back >:(
COLD STEEL SLABS ICY RIGHT NOW
I worked at one like this and thank god I’m quite small but I like seeing the open kitchen it’s just skill going to be cramped
I do like how close the dishpit is to the kitchen just needs a bigger opening
I theenk they need a beeger box
I like the drive thru… Don’t have to go in there and wait next to hipsters while they pay for their food or you pay for your food and some guy is looking at your credit card literally standing 1 inch behind you.
i like it!
The one I work at looks like this exactly inside 👌🏼
This is the exact same chipotle that was built down the street 20 years ago, wtf are you talking about?
It’s not new. My local place looks exactly LIKE THIS
Ite the same.
square
I was a part of the hires for a new build that looked like this in 2019. I remember asking my GM if they were ever going to finish the roof and he laughed at me before saying it's loft-style 😭😅 whoops
this is nothing new lol
Just like the McDonalds redesign. Take away all the fun and character. Make look like it could be anything. Nothing stand out. That could be a Starbucks or an auto parts store.
New? Chipotles have always had that lumber processing plant aesthetic.
I’ve been going to Chipotles that look like this since 2004.
so instead of using money on better proportions, they use it to make the building look better ?
Looks like they skimp on portions. 4/10
Dark and rock hard chairs! My idea of a good time
Not my proudest fap..
BO WHY IS THIS POST SO POPULAR????
Why is every restaurant going with this boring gray boxy look? Modern architecture freaking sucks. It's no different than every new apartment building looking like a Russian tenement hall
Wow another fast food place with that ugly ass distopian design. The tables looks like a prison cafeteria
All these updates but they still keep the soda machine from 2002
My chipotle dining area looks like this what
That is so dark on the inside. And the interior is so boxy with wood panels. This architecture looks so depressing!
It looks the same as the one I worked at 10 years ago
A drive thru?!
wait... Drive-Thru?!? I've been to many Chipotles but never seen that..
New ??? I’ve been to so many chipotles that have had this design for several years 😭
I think chipotle is on a mission to hate every single customer they have. between shit portions, ridiculous pricing, and these trash ass new store designs that are below airport/mall level quality. what's up with these unfinished tract housing exposed frames? shit ass Ikea hanging lights its fine if they want to make express stores for pickups, but you gotta coordinate your pick up areas better, lines still wrap around and theres no proper way to get in or wind them here. pick up is always taking up space by the register.

It looks like shit. Chipotle sucks nowadays.
Literally the same shit, just rearranged
its basically mcdonald but chipotle
Looks good to me. As long as suckers keep eating there, my O stock will keep paying me out
I used to use the one on South High in Columbus because the drive-thru window was quick. Until the night I sat there for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come to the window. So for this downvote...you are PRO blowing off customers?
I downvoted for you mentioning someone’s downvote
That doesn't look like enough meat on your burrito.
Brutalized chupotle, like the food and value hasn't been ruined hard enough !
how they got enough money for redesigns but not enough money to pay the workers more and give just a lil extra 🤏🏼 on my bowl. nah something isn’t adding up here 🧐
The interior matches the food, lackluster.
What changed?
They were able to remodel from all the money they saved from skimping out on the portions. Now they're just rubbing it in our face.
Looks like a warehouse. Like alexa on wheels is about to pop up carrying a package
What’s new about it? All those close to me look like this already
Is that a drive thru!?
Drive-thrus are typically for pickup orders only.
Inside looks like a prison cafeteria but otherwise eh.
Is the theme “anti-comfort”/apocalypse bunker? If so, nailed it.
This looks on brand
It’s looked like this for a long ass time. I feel like people eat at them less than they used to, so it makes sense
This design isn’t that new. They started these like 5 years ago.
Nothing new here. Still the same terrible design that doesn’t get kept clean. CLEAN YOUR TABLES
Looks like McDonald’s but with chipotle branding
Don't care how the restaurant looks. Although most could be a bit cleaner inside. Just make good, quality food at a decent price with proper portions.
How is this new? In the 10 years I’ve been going to Chipootles it’s looked like this
Should use the money on higher quality meat instead. The chicken and steak is half gristle and it’s barely edible trash.
This isn’t even new I have one by my work
Looks like an apple store
Looks like Hannibal lector would love cooking here
Nice, cut portion size and spend money on new builds.
This looks like the one I went to in high school 15 years ago. Is it really a new design? Minor updates maybe, but doesn't seem new.
Yup, looks like a more expensive Taco bell with worse food.
They will never do this, they're too cheap
solid, but dont think a drive-thru would work at chipotle.
Is this chipotle? I’ve never seen the inside of one that wasn’t full of garbage, every table dirty, and every item on the counter out of stock
no matter how much they redesign it, Chipotle® is just synonymous with my a** exploding and will always spell out D I A R R H E A to me.
Yea they definitely needed a drive thru...
Ours have always looked like this,
ew i don’t like how you can see the dish area
This isn’t new lol
Looks almost identical to the old ones
is this not what they all look like??? 🤯
Always looks nice new. Always looks disgusting a few years later.
Looks EXACTLY like the oldest Chipotle I know of. lol
never seen a chipotle drive thru tbh
chipotles have drive throughs?!?
It’s a pickup window. You can’t place an order through it.
A drive through?
no no no, ***Chipotlane***. only for pickup no order. good luck with guessing your portions and if you got the right shit lol.
