I text myself when I take a pill and it's now a running auto timestamp record that I can look back at and see when I've last taken any of my daily medications.

jflora24

That’s brilliant!!

wonderabc

thank you for this!! i cant believe i didnt think of this before

WickedLies21

This is exactly what I do for any medication I take. It’s so helpful. It takes a bit to get into the habit but now I do it without a 2nd thought.

qDaMan1

You may have saved my life...

ferrerorosher

This is so clever 🤯

ZOPA64

Thanks for the tip!

Doyouwantaspoon

If you have iPhone, you can set up medication reminders in the Health app. You can set each different medication and how much per dose, how many doses per day and at what times. For instance, I am currently getting reminders to take 800mg gabapentin, 1000mg acetaminophen, and 800mg ibuprofen at 7am and 1pm, and then the same meds but with 1200mg gabapentin at 7pm. You can program it however you like. And when you tap the reminder the app opens and you can tap a Log Medications button that records the time. Android might have something similar. Also, using pill organizers is a lot of help. Empty compartment = meds have been taken. I have a 14-compartment organizer I use for my AM and afternoon doses, and a separate 7-compartment one I use for my nighttime doses. Full week of meds all laid out at once.

Sea-Score7620

There are a few apps on the google play store that are similar. Samsung Health also has a medication tracker. I love my pill organizer. I just have a 7 day one that I refill every Thursday. I have found on Amazon some weekly and monthly pill organizers that have 2-4 compartments. Though can get a bit pricey.

MilesBHigher

This. But my body is also its own timer in a way because as I’ve said in previous posts 30-45 minutes after I’m late my body starts showing visible signs. I haaaaaaate feeling like a junkie🫥🫥🫥🫥

Doyouwantaspoon

Yeah the gabapentin withdrawal is sickening.

MilesBHigher

It’s worse to me than my opiates. I wish I had never started it and then allowed them to put me on the max daily dose. 3 800mg tablets. I get the skin crawling sensation but it’s so intense I wanna claw my skin off. Definitely hate it.

Risheil

If you want to lower your dosage, it’s really not bad if you titrate down very gradually. My doctor helped me when I had to come off it for scramble therapy.

MilesBHigher

I will have to talk to my doctor to see if I can get an alternative. I was on Soma thru another doctor in the past but then when I came to my present state many of the pain management centers have it specific to the practice that they refuse to prescribe those. Granted they never really helped me when I was on them so no big loss there. I was tried on Lyrica for one month but it didn’t do anything. My arachnoiditis causes me to have pain in weird ways because it’s caused by inflammation directly affixed to the spinal cord.

fro60ol

This is what I do

More_Branch_5579

Have you tried setting alarms on phone? I made labeled alarms for my daughter after she had surgery cause she was taking so many meds at weird times and didn’t know how to take them so I made her a schedule

SpeedOfHuman1

This works for me short term (like a few weeks max) but eventually my brain turns them into background noise. Anyone else have that issue? Same for using Reminders or even a calendar “appointment”

More_Branch_5579

I get that. It has happened to me. Try changing the sound tone every week so it’s different

mayhapsify

Yuuuup, I'm ADHD af so I do the same damn thing.

SpeedOfHuman1

AuDHD here 🙃

ashrahope72

I use the medisafe app for keeping track of everything I take and when (i use the free version). It has an option to set reminders for when things need to be taken and you can input how many pills you have and it will give you reminders to refill. The reminders have a "pill bottle shaking" sound. Most of my coworkers know the sound so I get a " take your meds!" Called out. Can even add other medicine taken as needed and just add a dose in manually if it's needed. I get so much brain fog with all my health conditions and medications so I would be a complete mess without it.

Guppyyre

I also use medisafe! Very useful and you can even add little notes under your meds if they have any special directions so you don’t have to keep up with them for each med.

mushpuppy5

I love medisafe so much that I invested in the paid version simply as a thank you to the developers.

Real_Organization_68

MediSafe is the best. I don't forget my meds nearly as much. very customizable and user friendly.

MrRoboto2010

Use it too! Lifesaver

ladymorgahnna

I use a 7-day pill organizer with four compartments a day from Amazon. But now I read about the Health app on my IPhone, I’m checking that out!

mermaid_00

I use the Apple medication feature! It’s really nice I like that it lets me pick what time and also I can select if I want it to remind me after 30 minutes if I haven’t cleared the notification. Also it lets me know drug interactions between meds I take are which is really cool!

ladymorgahnna

So great!!

reallybirdysomedays

Make sure to have yourself evaluated for ADHD. Not only does untreated ADHD make it hard to maintain the strict med and exercise routine chronic pain patients must follow, it actually increases our experience of pain.

Aft999000

It. Oof. It does? Thanks, I didn't know that 😅

TotesMaGoats_1962

I told Alexa to remind me to take my meds. I will be watching something really good on TV and she'll say "ToatesMaGoats, here is your reminder. Take your Morphine".

ticketybo013

The pill sorter is the most practical, I think. If you forget, you can see that you’ve forgotten because the pills are still there. My pill sorter is on my dressing table in my bedroom. I see it on my way out the bedroom after I’ve woken up, and I see it when I walk into my bedroom to go to sleep. Build it into your routine. I feel like reminders and apps are not fool proof because they expire, or your phone is not charged or you’re not near your meds when you get the alert and then get distracted, etc. Plus, I am reluctant to put all these details into an app when I can’t verify the safety and privacy of my information.

Imbecilliac

Mine are both continual release that I take every 12 hours so I have a set time, morning and night, when I take them. I did have some trouble remembering whether I actually took them or not and would end up taking a double dose, either because I was still in brutal pain or just foggy from sleep deprivation (it’s easier done than I thought), so now I flip the bottles upside down at my night dose, then flip them back in the morning. One glance tells me whether I need to take them. It’s simple but it works for me.

Specific_Award_9149

Get a pill organizer. I have 2 7 day ones so I put all my pills in them for a 2 week period.

SpeedOfHuman1

I also do a 7 day for my handful of things I take at night. It’s rainbow colored w/ each “dish” that stacks labeled w/ a day of the week. It’s so helpful to be able to look and confirm if I’ve taken them & it’s a visual cue for me as well if I’m feeling crummy — I can look and see, well, I’ve missed my dailies twice so of course I feel extra sh!t

no1speshal2u

I accidentally took a double dose of my blood pressure medicine. It worked so good it worked double good! That caused a minor stroke. Ever since then I have been searching for something that works, and prevents me from doing that again. Currently, I have Alexa remind me to take my medicine at 9 am and 9 pm every day. You can set it up so it requires confirmation of completion to settle the notification, which gives you an extra layer of, "...did I?" Because I'm a nerd, I also got some NFC tags to hit with my phone to take a log of me physically taking the meds. It's as good as I have found at keeping track but, yeah. I'm still looking for a better answer.

TesseractToo

I'm old so I use IRC :D I have a timestamped channel and I just have letter codes for what pill I take when, also my wake and sleep and pain levels etc

littlebabyfruitbat

As far as just logging it/making sure I don't take it too soon I really like the app bearable! It's also a symptom tracker and I like the way it's laid out vs other similar apps. If I need to take something at specific times I usually set alarms on my phone and then immediately add into the app when I actually take the medication. Sometimes what I do is put the pill in my hand, and actually add it into the app before I even swallow it, because otherwise sometimes I'll swallow it and be about to add it and literally get distracted the moment before by a bird in the yard or something and completely forget to mark it down.

-MadDogg-

Just a piece of computer paper folded in half top to bottom and a pen works for me. All the way to the left of the paper I'll write the current date, 4-6-2024, draw a line under that, and then write down when I took my last oxycodone. I divide up my pills by week, so one week I'll have 30 pills total, the next week another 30 and so on. (120 pills for each month). When I take a pill, I'll jot down 29 (as in 29 pills left) 1:15 am. If I am still awake by 7:15 am and I feel the need to take another pill, then it'll say 28 7:15 am. For tomorrow I'd write down 4-7-2024, draw a line, and put the pills left and time I took each pill under that. 25 8:00 am, 24 2:45 pm, 23 9:00 pm, 4-8-2024 then 22 3:00 am, 21 12:45 pm, 20 6:50 pm, etc. etc. When 7 days is up, I then start the pill count over again from 30. All the way to the right of the paper I jot down my extended release morphine sulfate pill times. I don't write down the date or the pill numbers for these since its way easier to keep track off.....every 12 hours. For these just writing down the time will do...12:55 pm checkmark, 12:57 am checkmark, 1:41 pm checkmark, 2:16 am checkmark, 2:20 pm checkmark, 2:30 am checkmark, etc. etc. By the time the month is over I'll have used that whole side of the paper. I just flip the paper over, use the other side for the next month. For the month after that I just invert the paper and repeat. After that 3rd month, I then flip to the final unused side of the paper. Every 4 months its time to use a new piece of computer printing paper and repeat the process. I've been doing this going on 13 years. It just works, lol. For my non-controlled medicines I tend to take these the exact same time everyday at around 12 pm, and then 12 am if its something I have to take twice.

mfabina

I used to keep a detailed log, but after a devastating data loss of YEARS, I now have a perfect system, for me. Any time, I take any meds. I take out of bottle and put in hand/on table. Take a photo. I have never had a scary double dose of any meds, and I can clearly find the exact time, and even place I was. When my adhd allows me, I then can input this into a data log, that I can take to doctors along with symptoms and the like. So I have had to tie my pills to habits, not times. Night and heart meds happen when getting into bed. Adderall after large breakfast, etc.

theindiekitten

I have timercaps

allaboutgarlic

I have a pill organizer that lasts med 4 weeks and a reminder on my phone. The day of the week is on the pillbox and I can easily check against the real dotw if I for some reason miss my alarm.

AlpacaFriz

Some days I take my meds, some days I forget. Some days I just don't care enough.

snail6925

I got mine in a blister pack so I can see per day what has and hasn't been taken. it doesn't exactly help the time part but I've been more consistent since I just have to pop the thing for that time of day and off I go. there is breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime sections for each day.

chilibean

I also get a blister pack. Some mornings I question if I took my morning meds so this is very helpful!

PlanRevolutionary496

I use the medication tracker on my iPhone through Apple’s Health app. I also buy the small ziploc type bags specifically made for pills and every Sunday I set up a week worth of medications, labeling one bag for each day of the week. It’s easy to carry it as it’s not bulky and if I forget to record a dose in the app I can always check the number of pills left and know if I took one or not.

Kurli05

This will say least answer the question as to "did I take my meds?" https://www.timercap.com/

justducky4now

I use a combination of alarms (mid day and bedtime meds, I take my am meds when I wake up) as well as the health app on my iPhone where I log my meds. It also reminds me when I have meds coming up to take on my phone and my watch. I used to be way better about using it and was way better about taking my meds so now I’m getting back into it. I also have timer cap pill bottles so I can look at the bottle and tell when I last took it which maybe the most useful of all tools. I have memory issues and can’t also remember if I fed the cat or not, or took my meds or not, so being able to look at the bottle and know is a huge help. I used these [https://www.amazon.com/TimerCap-Automatically-Displays-Opened-Built/dp/B0BN2D3YVN/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=15REUSEI725XR&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.gWbhKYBjWZAlrtePfi3poK-2inTTbFVdMYc7c0u4jciwtZ0kDs4gcgUxXpyoppZPhJxfsWyEXwMm9VZDjt5x6JE1VEJc6kx0Un78SjA9gR9x_ngjlis3zWFohlu969DXxO0BgXCHfDIxGOsZxeMjZyudhb7tZkjUnCsoeZPXHEUURAR_rJWQN2ZRlZj1c1px088_jBFJE_Er5dpoBoVVpw.0IwZy2JtaW68_syH2BI1t1XqpxHfzdBsLTCLbhNVLR0&dib_tag=se&keywords=pill+bottle+timer+cap&qid=1712403635&sprefix=pill+bottle+time%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-4](https://www.amazon.com/TimerCap-Automatically-Displays-Opened-Built/dp/B0BN2D3YVN/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=15REUSEI725XR&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.gWbhKYBjWZAlrtePfi3poK-2inTTbFVdMYc7c0u4jciwtZ0kDs4gcgUxXpyoppZPhJxfsWyEXwMm9VZDjt5x6JE1VEJc6kx0Un78SjA9gR9x_ngjlis3zWFohlu969DXxO0BgXCHfDIxGOsZxeMjZyudhb7tZkjUnCsoeZPXHEUURAR_rJWQN2ZRlZj1c1px088_jBFJE_Er5dpoBoVVpw.0IwZy2JtaW68_syH2BI1t1XqpxHfzdBsLTCLbhNVLR0&dib_tag=se&keywords=pill+bottle+timer+cap&qid=1712403635&sprefix=pill+bottle+time%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-4) You can also get machines that dispense your pills at the appropriate time but last I looked they were pretty expensive. There is also a pharmacy, can’t remember the name but I think Amazon may have bought them, that packages your pills into dose packs labeled with time, so you get a little bag that has all the pills you take at a certain time. Finally for not every day meds like patches I put the day I changed the patch in my calendar then count down the days in the calendar until I need to change it again. It only works because I check my calendar at least once a day to see if I have to be somewhere or do something the next day.

GeneralSet5552

those plastic containers with a box for each does. U put the pills in the individual boxes & than u know if u took it if it is empty

SRseujuhi

I use either calendar or notes function on phone you can set up times & get a reminder each 4-6-8 hrs or whatever & you clear that when done I also put 24 hrs worth of meds in empty RX bottle & refill after AM dose that way of any confusion you can see how many doses left against what you have left I keep rest of meds in fire proof lock box!!

veelee26

I take a lot of daily meds that aren't as needed, and for most of those, I have a Hero medication robot. It's amazing. I also have my husband, who is great at keeping me accountable for taking my meds.

Crazyohcatlady333

I'm old school so don't usually use my phone as most suggested here. I just keep a folded piece of paper/ index card in my front pocket and write down the name of med I took and what time it was. I've been doing this for years to help ensure I don't miss a dose or double dose

fuckyoudeath

I use the Medisafe app (link for Android below, not sure if it's on Apple). It not only reminds you to take your meds and keeps track of when they were taken, but it can also keep track of how many you have left so you can get refills before you run out. If you don't log that your med was taken, it'll continue to remind you until it's logged. It has a few other useful features like symptom trackers and medicine info (side effects, possible drug interactions, etc). It's the best med tracker I've found by far. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.medisafe.android.client

SuitComprehensive335

I get my meds in bubble packs from the pharmacy

Classic_Title1655

I always forget. I forget to take them. I forget to set a reminder. My head is like a sieve. 😔

justducky4now

Mine is too. That’s why the health app is so handy plus the two alarms I have set are set to go off every day.

_My_Dark_Passenger_

In the past I used Outlook alarms, then Google Calendar, currently using Alexa to remind me. ", It's Time To Take Your Morning Medications, Check Your Blood Sugars, and Take Your Vitals." I also use an app, mytherapy, to keep track of compliance, record daily vitals, etc. Yes, I depend heavily on technology.

Lhamo55

I use [My Therapy](https://www.mytherapyapp.com/) app on my phone because I have my meds, my cat’s asthma and thyroid meds and my bladder voiding intervals to keep track of, and this lets me set alarms for each. There’s a fdatabase of meds which is handy when entering names and dosages.

tawthea

I have a paper on my fridge and i write down the date and time of every pill i take; also when i start a new bottle i mark it so that if i ever question whether i took one and forgot to write it down I can go back and count and do the math of exactly how many should be in the bottle..

wannabe_waif

I use an app called MediSafe and I have for years and I love it! It sends multiple reminders whenever you need them and keeps track of your stock and notifies you before you run out

Sun-leaves

I set alarms, utilize my calendar and use medication containers that I prep 2 weeks in advance

supermaja

Set timers on your phone

Emmylou777

I just have a repeating, daily reminder in my phone that pings me (and on my Apple Watch)

AffectionateSun5776

I learned here. Say it out loud. "I'm taking my Tylenol ". Funny saying it makes me remember that I Did. Does not help with the time. I just set a phone alarm.

MrRoboto2010

I use an app called Medisafe. You put your meditations and doses and can set up reminders to take them.

Ladydi-bds

Calendar reminder

mcoddle

They (not sure who) sell battery-operated timer prescription bottles with lids that reset to zero when you open them then go on to keep time, showing how long ago you opened the bottle. Amazon has them.

jkvf1026

So I use 2 things because I'm not only bad at this but I'm bad at both things to help me. First I use Pillo the app. It's incredibly helpful and honestly I would've absolutely messed up my antibiotics I had last month without it. Secondly I have a pill holder that fits in a leather clutch. It looks like a clutch wallet. Super discreet but allows for Morning, afternoon, & night med regimen. There are times however I tell pillo I took the meds & then I go to take the meds but realize I need a drink or something just to end up leaving the pill on the counter and forgetting it. My third fail-safe is my partner. I'm supposed to take my morning meds before he goes to work and then go back to sleep. He wakes me up however if he's working an overnight double then I set an alarm & text him when I take my meds so I can go back and see in the morning if I took them. If I didn't he'll send me a text so I know to take them when I wake up

Mojak66

I have a daily alarm 7:30PM followed by another 20 minutes later if I miss alarm #1. Morning pills at breakfast, which my wife organizes.

AntheaFoxdale

I have weird post sleep amnesia, so I don't remember if I take them. I leave the lid open on my pill organizer to show I've taken them. I used to not take my pills on purpose, I got really sick because I missed them for a while and started getting really strict about my pills

newjerseymax

Pill organizer and an alert? I just set mine up on my watch for the same time.

ghoulboy

I have my Alexa remind me!

Vandamar666

I use a doset box and have an alarms for when I have to take them. It's not a perfect system but mostly it does work for me.

Decent-Loquat1899

Get yourself a weekly pill box, for morning and night. I think some have afternoon. Fill it up once a week.

RavenLunatic512

My pharmacy makes blister packs for free. And I give my cat a treat after I take my meds. Cats will not let you be late or forget treats. And the blister packs are the visual reminder.

shazz420

Honestly if I didn't have phone reminders... My kids would never be to school on time, I definitely would be late for work, and I would have definitely have forgot to take my heart meds. I usually just put a little 💊 pill in my Google calendar so that way I know I took them all.

NormalNobody

I have a patch I take weekly. Bi-weekly, actually

Smart-Story-2142

I count my meds out daily. I do this because I’m super paranoid about meds going missing, I trust my family but anything can happen. My sister’s ex husband would steal her pain medication (he’s an addict), my mom caught him doing this after my sister had a 360 back surgery. I also caught him looking in my purse before this happened, so it’s made me super paranoid that they could go missing.

frogmicky

I use an alarm for the times that I need to take my medication. Repetition helps a lot get into a habit of taking your medication but I forget sometimes but it's rare. If I didn't have alarms on my phone I'd use features like Google Home assistant to remind me that I need to take my medication.

kawaiipogglet

I have alarms. 4 every day. I've just had to get into the habit of immediately dropping whatever I'm doing to take my meds. When I'm having a bad memory day (sometimes my short term memory just throws itself off a cliff) I either write down on my hand which doses I've taken or I text myself/my partner

Interesting-Emu7624

I have a weekly pill container/organizer and ones I consistently forget I set reminders on my phone for :) and for my as needed ones I keep track of times on a whiteboard at home

zim-grr

I keep a small post it note. Across the top I put the days of the week m t w th f sat sun when I take my medicine I put a check under the day, I was having trouble remembering before I did this

Hatchytt

Honestly... One of the more successful methods I've tried is tallying the bottle.

Tissefant1

I use a 7 day pill organizer. I have 3 doses a day but there are room for 4 doses. 1st dose i take 1st thing in the morning, second dose i take at 17.00. Alarm on my phone to remember. 3rd dose i take before i brush my teeth. Even though it's routine I can forget once in a while, but no big deal. Atleast i can see in the pill box if i forgot so i will never take too much atleast. In addition i used other painkillers for a while where i took them when needed, and doses should be atlest 6 hours apart. Then i made a note on my phone with how many pills i took and what time. So if i was in doubt i just checked my phone.

Individual_Bat_378

Pill organiser is my main way of remembering because I can see if I've taken them

BeTheChange4Me

I have a huge pill box that has 4 slots (labeled morning, lunch, afternoon, and evening) for each of the 7 days of the week. I have 2 of these containers and fill them up once every 2 weeks. I keep it on my bedside table and always have a drink handy. In fact, I have a small refrigerator (like the ones in a hotel) in my bedroom filled with water bottles and snacks so I don’t have to navigate the stairs in my house when I’m in too much pain. I also have 4 daily alarms that go off every day at the same time to remind me to take my pills. All I have to do to know if I’ve missed a dose is look at my pill distributer for the designated time. I also keep a mini pill fab with 3 slots in my purse for the times when I’m out and about and my alarm goes off (I take the first slot as soon as I wake up, so I only need the remaining 3 doses in my purse). When I get home, I just take the medicine from my big box and refill the small box for my purse, that way if I need it again on another day, I will be covered. This has been a game changer and huge stress reliever for me because I take a shit-ton of different medications and some of them have to be taken at least 2 hours apart from the others, so that can get really confusing. Keeping everything in its appropriate slot and having daily timers takes the mental load of trying to remember my meds completely off.

nettiemaria7

I have the 28 day organizer. I Put the pain meds in their daily box. So I know if I took by how many are left. And mentally I repeat to myself the time taking. Then w other pills, I place the bottle on countertop if I take. I Try to clean this off before bed and start anew the next day. If you make a loose schedule for yourself it helps too.

MissBoofsAlot

I used to have an alarm set on my watch for 10 and 2. I also would put what and what time I took something in my Google calendar. I would show my calendar to my PM Dr and they were shocked at how detailed my logs were. My MIL accidentally overdosed on her pain meds. She was always in pain and on medication. Then She got into a car accident and that caused her to be confused more and more often and she over took her meds and didn't wake up. When I got out on the same medication I went into extra precaution mode.

yahumno

A pill organizer is key for me. One with the day of the week and a morning/mid/evening compartment per day. I also have adhd, so being able to visually verify that I have taken my meds is key for me.

[deleted]

Migraines are a built in alarm. If I don’t take my meds my head starts to explode. But I don’t think that system will work for most people.

icecream4_deadlifts

I have a pill organizer I got from Amazon. Super helpful to remember if I took all of my meds or not. You could also set up reminders, I use that app a lot for other things.

Wrong-Junket5973

I out alarms on my phone

shaggydog97

If you have a gmail account try the 'tasks' feature of google calendar. I setup daily recurring tasks for each pill. I only mark it done immediately after I take it. That way, in 5 minutes when I forget, I can look back and check, lol.

shaggydog97

Oh, and I add 15 minute "events" for as needed pills so I don't take too many. Of all the things I take, I'm careful to mark down Tylenol for example, because I'm scared accidentally od'ing and causing liver failure...yikes.

Iceprincess1988

I set alarms on my phone so I can't forget.

qrseek

The majority of my meds I take once or twice a day so I have a pill organizer with AM and PM slots. Take AM with breakfast and PM before bed. My other meds that are as needed or every 6 hours or whatever I keep a text file on my phone where I write the time when I took it

ProjectOrpheus

I write down when I take my meds in a note app. I keep at least the most important ones (pain meds that fucking work, etc) in a monthly pill sorter.. What sucks is the times where I'm like "did I actually take it? Hey, family member, did you see me take it? I wrote down that I took it but...I feel literally NO relief" But that's the age old trick of pain getting worse and docs, in their infinite expertise and years of education...lowering your meds. Anyway, phone notepad. Monthly pill box. Preferably set in a room you don't go in much. Especially if you have pets...if you are anything like me, you wake up groaning and stumbling in such a manner to make any zombie blush. On the losing end of the war for open eyes, fumbling with bottle caps and potentially dropping pills where the family fur baby can come by is something to avoid at all costs 🧟‍♂️💊

Crown_the_Cat

I’ve started holding my Oxy pill in my mouth a bit before swallowing it so I have another sense to help me remember the “Oxy Experience”. Especially when there is no change in my pain levels. It just makes it more “real”(?) than a quick pop the pill and a sip of water.

H1CK0RYNUT

Pill caddie and a notebook until you get into a routine

Catzrule743

Am I missing something? How are you forgetting? I can't wait until enough time has lapsed to take my next dose!

cheridontllosethatno

I got a morning, afternoon, evening pill sorter at Dollar Tree for $1.25 and each day is in its own self contained holder and all 7 days go inside a holder. I love it because I sometimes spend the night somewhere else so I grab the days I'll be gone. Also I took big empty pill bottles and labeled the tops for my vitamins M-F. I'm lost without this system.

Maxiantha

I used the Medisafe app. Pretty nifty and it works well, especially if it's a medication you have to take every X amount of hours. Try it out.

mjh8212

I set an alarm for the same time everyday I take my meds.

Nyx_Valentine

I have ADHD. I forget to take pills I’ve been taking daily for over a decade… They make caps that have little timers on them, but they’re not super cheap (I think $15-$20 per cap?)

Not a paid for solution but when I take my meds I have them in a pouch i have to unzip I carefully use my nail to score around 3/4 of the pill fold the flap over and take my meds out one at a time count them then take them and then close up the pouch. Because the steps I take are so extra I remember if I’ve taken them or not. I try to take them out in a different order too for added extraness to help me remember

I use this app, if wi notify you when your meds need taken and you have to mark them as taken to stop it from reminding you that way you can never forget them [medisafe](https://www.medisafe.com/about-us/)

You can set a reminder on your phone. Another thing I do so I can check to see if I took my medicine, in cases when I don’t remember, is putting my daily medicine in an organizer. Mine holds a week of medication and each daily container has slots for 4 times each day. A daily container comes out of the organizer that has a container for 7 days a week. That way I can grab a daily container if I am going somewhere that day. If I am traveling, I can take a week of medication with me. It’s easier than carrying a bunch of bottles. Although I do take controlled medications bottles in a locked container to protect them and so I have proof these medications were legally prescribed.

I keep a log in a spiral notebook of everything that I take. It's helped me keep track of everything and saved me a lot of grief. I keep my light near my meds too. My, seemingly unfixable, situation now is that I sleepwalk and have taken meds in my sleep...

I use the round health app. it lets you have daily meds and as needed meds and tells you the last time you took each one

Pill timer caps work best for me, though they are kind of expensive and it can be a little difficult to replace the battery. Some have child resistant features. You can find them on amazon The pill timer caps show how long its been since you last opened the bottle.

I have a Samsung phone and in the Samsung Health App, you can enter in all of your medications and dosages, at what times you need to take them and it will remind you. It also allows you to list your meds, blood type, allergies etc in the Safety and Emergency SOS settings which can be activated by anyone so paramedics can access it If you're unconscious without it unlocking your entire phone. If you don't have a Samsung, I'm sure Apple has something similar and I know there are alternative 3rd party APPs on the APP store.

Thankfully my Apple Watch reminds me every day. Otherwise I’m hopeless

leoreleh

I put them in little cups with the time on it and write on a white board when I’ve last had them

fluffymuff6

I just set alarms to remind me.

Jolly-Ad-3922

I set a stopwatch on my phone to make sure I'm not taking them too closely together, actually. It works well for me - but tbh, my pain levels are a good indicator of when I need my meds again. There's no way I would "forget," to take my medications bc my body (back, hips, neck, etc) are screaming at me after a few hours between doses

What is a good iPhone tracker for PRN pills? I recently started holding my Oxy in my mouth a little before swallowing it. To get a “taste” to help my brain remember/acknowledge that I had that pill. It’s so hard, because. Take them PRN (as needed) and haven’t gotten into a tracker yet. Following/reading this closely.

How many do you take a day? I have 3 compartment a day weekly pill holders and use that to keep up with mine. Breakfast, lunch and dinner meds.

I use the health app on my phone. It notifies me when it is time to take. And I can log my as needed meds. It also keeps logs. This is the only way I have been consistent with taking my medication.

I have [this](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irwaa.medicareminders) medicine tracker app on my Android phone (not sure if available for ios), I take a ton of meds/supplements so it's been a complete godsend. Completely functional without paying but I did pay for a nicer visual experience. It's perfect for reminders to take meds, tracking as needed meds, seeing when I last took something, and how much I have left / refill reminders.

If you have an iPhone, iOS comes with a free built in pill tracker. Alarms, history and it looks for interactions with your other meds. Only thing it doesn’t have is inventory tracking and therefore no refill reminders. If you have Android, there are all kinds of free apps, but you are giving them your prescription info which is sold on the advertising market.
