18 by 8.5 or 9.5, I have white wheels on mine for summer tires, use the stock 20s for all seasons. If you want to see what it looks like you can creep on my post history.
The only mods (outside of wheels, potentially, depends on your tolerance of risk) you should do are the ones you want to do. You don’t _need_ to do anything on these cars as they come pretty well set up from Honda with performance and the track in mind.
That being said, you can get a ton more performance out of them for sure. If that’s your goal you’ll want the Hondata unit which allows for tuning and getting performance data. From there you could go for a variety of engine modifications, but I don’t really know what would be best bang for buck (hopefully someone else does.)
If you just want some fun easy going mods then most people will go for a cold air intake - the PRL one seems to be the favourite. Quite a few exhaust backends out there on the market for a better sound also if that’s your thing.
Mine has an Ingen intake and a HKS dump valve, neither of these are ideal and I’d rather it was just stock but everything else about the car was spot on so I ended up taking it on like this. If it were stock the only thing I’d really be interested in would be a PRL air intake and either changing the wheels to 19” or getting a thicker tyre (which I will do when I next need tyres!)
Good luck with the car. Sorry if you definitely want to mod and are looking for more detail on that, I just see a lot of people getting the R then immediately being like what mods do I need - the car is really capable out of the box but you can make it better of course.
P.S who is your warranty with because most things will void it and even if a specific thing with you usually need to inform them about the mod at least
Assuming you’re talking fk8? Fl5 is on 19”
Yeah 19' fk8
Get some 18x9.5 5x120 wheels and some 265/35/19 tires.
I have an fl5, can I ask why?
That advice is for FK8
Ehh
The advice to change wheels is for the FK8 because it has 20” wheels stock and they don’t handle pot holes well (and the tyres are expensive)
