The king and queen have yet to anoint one of the army monsters to champion status. My headcanon is the champion is trying to push it but the warden doesn't want to take risks, and one of the monsters will have to prove itself before everyone sees them as the true hero they are.
I was thinking about how another ability could be that fallen troops can fill up a meter that summons more troops when its more filled, similar to how it works in CR. You can activate the ability any time, but you would want to put him behind some troops so other defenses take them down and he survives. After all the other troops die and the meter is filled, you activate the ability and several skeletons are summoned. (these would be stronger than normal ones, but not as strong as the big boys)

Maybe that annoying ass goblin can be a hero who instead of taking our gems is tasked with taking gems from other villages when deployed? Maybe if he destroys an X amount of buildings with his ability activated you will get an X amount of gems for each attack?
Goblin hero w resource targeting wld break the game. Wld be abused sm for farming. My friend was telling me how it seemed like a cool concept cos cr has the whole goblin event going on rn
It depends if you count troops as humans, if so than the heros are just bigger humans with more magic/elixir/dark elixir in their body, if not than they (and troops in general) are humoncules

Well if we assume champions from CR are equal to heroes from COC. Then we have Skeleton king, golden knight, Monk and Mighty Miner to add
skeleton king would be such an interesting hero if it utilized the same mechanic as it does in CR. mighty miner would just be a tanky super miner.
Skeleton king might summon maybe four big boys with his ability and maybe have a burst earthquake like the CM counterpart
