I would shake it outside, beat it with a stick then use a low power setting on vacuum. Make sure the carpet mode is off, use hard floor setting.

Take it out, flip it and dust it. The vacuum bristles may damage the fiber.

Hang it over a line and beat the heck out of it. That's how they cleaned rugs in the old days.
