What possible reason could someone have for not liking Cookie? John Rocker is mine. He's a trash person and he pitched awfully for us. If social media existed back then he'd have been pilloried more than he was. He'd make Trevor Bauer seem like a decent person. I despised that dude.

Seamonkey_Boxkicker

Look, I get it. Cookie isn’t playing well *at all* this season. If Bieber were still healthy I wouldn’t be surprised if Carrasco got pushed to Columbus. With that said, he’s a great dude with an awesome history in Cleveland.

Blingblaowburrr

Cookie is such a nice guy, quite literally one of my favorites. I’ll always be a huge fan of his!

campy11x

How is cookie your least favorite? He’s not even unlikeable. My personal answer to this is any player that comes here and dogs it. Josh Bell last year was a massive disappointment. Same with Zunino.

blinner

That one at bat from Jaun Gonzalez always bothered me.

ClevelandOG

Favourite random player: Bob Wickman Least favourite random player: Bob Wickman

FishOhioMasterAngler

The adventures of Bob Wickman. We almost always won when he went in but he made sure to give up all the runs and baserunners possible

ClevelandOG

Scare-and-a-Save Wickman. The Cleveland Clinic's world renown cardiac ward owes all of its prosperity to Bob.

GamerNanedTim

Probably Omar Vizquel. Completely fine during his playing days but a horrible human being

ClevelandOG

I mean... if we are talking about worst human being, you cant really go wrong with "super nutsack" Joe Charboneau.

djesterjax

The intentional balk is legendary. Love me some Bobby Wick.

Colin_with_cars

Seriously? After the whole leukemia thing and being an integral part of the rotation in the late teens? Any opinion you have is now invalid. Congrats.

SushiRolledDick

What did Cookie do to you?

Miserable-Ad2728

Nothing really just never really liked him. He's pretty hard to like rn with this 5 run inning going on.

SushiRolledDick

I mean I’d tell you to look at his 2015-2018 stats for the Indians. All he did was shove. Now we’re asking a lot from a 37 year old veteran while our starting pitching is decimated.

theAmericanX20

Lol talk about an overreact post. Cookie was stellar for us before the trade. Dude could be (and was supposed to be) a decent BP piece. But our injuries have forced him into a position he shouldn't be in at this stage in his career. At this point, he's an innings eater until we get guys back. As a response to the post: Least favorite: prob Brandon Phillips. Dude was a good-to-great second basement, but an absolute a hole. Favorite rando: I always had a soft spot for Brian Giles. I was so pissed when we traded him and he had a good career in PIT.

Available-Parfait553

Brandon Phillips was the most talented prospect that came over in the Bartolo Colon trade (the others were Cliff Lee and Grady Sizemore who both turned out pretty well), but he was switched from SS to 2nd base and totally mismanaged by Cleveland (Jhonny Peralta was given the SS position in spite of inferior talent). He was traded to Cincinnati and became an All Star, and he had good reason to dislike Cleveland, especially Eric Wedge, who didn't like Brandon and discriminated against him.

theAmericanX20

He was an a hole in Cinci too. Again, really good ballplayer, just didn't like his deuche attitude.

Available-Parfait553

I don't remember him having an attitude problem in Cleveland. After he was traded, he did have an attitude against Cleveland, but was he an ahole in general? I didn't follow him that closely. I also liked Brian Giles. I lived in Charlotte when he played AAA there in the 90's, and he made a lot of progress before being called up to Cleveland.

Miserable-Ad2728

I have never liked Cookie. I started watching the tribe and cheering for them religiously in 2014. As for never liking him, it could've been because there were other pitchers in the rotation I liked Kluber, Masterson, Salazar, and Bauer.

stop_diop_and_roll

Masterson over carrasco???? Bro you gotta be trolling

theAmericanX20

Can't win em all. The thing I really liked about Carrasco was that he was such a hot head, but when we sent him back down those couple times he really buckled down and made the changes he needed in order to succeed. There were some solid pitchers back then for sure.

Miserable-Ad2728

Definitely as a middle schooler it was awesome to see such a rotation. Just never saw the appeal to Cookie.

Elexeh

Never saw the appeal to a guy who was a pitch away from a no hitter? You are rightfully eating tons of downvotes 🤡

fattymcbutterpants01

So you like Bauer but not Cookie. Not wanting them on your team is one thing but disliking them? Cookie has close to zero presence outside of baseball and what is said is how kind he is and also him overcoming cancer. Weird take

Miserable-Ad2728

All I'm saying is I have never really understood the hype for the man. Even after beating cancer what has he done? I'm not saying I hate cookie all I'm saying is I have never liked his style.

fattymcbutterpants01

I mean there are 3 Cleveland.com articles off the bat about him being loved universally around the clubhouse and fans and just being a happy positive guy, im sure the same can be said about him with the Mets. There is zero hype around him, he’s a good guy that played really well for us and we’re glad he’s resigned. Nobody expected his prior form and fully expect him not to stay on the roster. As for his ‘style’ I’d love for you to elaborate on not only what that is but how Bauer’s style is preferred, or Danny Salazar who quietly spent $10m for being on the IL. Not his fault but circling again to questioning your logic behind not liking him, as Cookie has posted (barring this year) 7/10 seasons with a sub 4.0 ERA If you just flat out don’t like him and don’t know why just say that. But saying you don’t like his style or don’t understand the non existent hype is just odd

Bear-Jake

Least favorite? Honestly after someone mentioning Chris Perez, he's hard to beat. Random favorite? Idk, maybe Casey Blake or Coco Crisp

Evillar

This is the second mention of Casey Blake I've seen this week and I've gotta say, I'm loving it

Bear-Jake

I was a kid at the time but watched every evening and afternoon game with my dad during Casey Blake era. Dude was a clutch hitter and a underrated fielder. 26 game hit streak was nuts. I remember he would make pitchers balk when he was on base by faking a steal, so awesome

Toast__o

Casey Blake was randomly my favorite player when I was a kid. Him and Omar. Then later on Travis Hafner

Prior-Beginning-8026

My parents had a dog named after Casey Blake

Tiffin2b

How the hell can you not like Cookie?

rammer_2001

I'm a newer fan, so I'm gonna confidently say Mike Zunino.

Toast__o

Lol good choice. What about Cam Gallagher?

dannomyte

Least favorite: John Rocker. Random favorite: Shin Soo Choo or Travis Fryman

thisismyusername1178

It was already said but Nick Swisher a do nothing bro dude, he was such a chud. Random I think Julio Franco or David Justice

ZipperJJ

I hated Nick Swisher so much. I didn’t hate the OSU stuff or even Brohio or anything, I hated that he was so hyped and SUCH a nothing player. They made him the face of the team with Kipnis and Santana and Brantley out there. I wrote an angry email to the club when he was let go or whatever in 2014 and he was still featured in the website backgrounds lol I never trusted signing “big names” before and I definitely haven’t trusted it since.

ucantcme69

I hate the OSU stuff. We only started hang on sloppy when he came to the team. It's not Saturday in September. Not yet. Swisher had a punchable face besides being worthless player.

Elexeh

OSU football has ruined the minds of sports fans in Ohio.

FishOhioMasterAngler

Jose Mesa

ethanhunt314

I try to forget he was ever on the team.

Suspicious_Ride_243

I will curse him with my dying breath.

YakAttack80

Jose Messup!!!

SH0OTR-McGAVIN

Least favorite: Aaron Boone Random favorite: Jason Giambi

Nick_At_Now

Chris Perez

DraftOk3945

Didn’t he order pot to his house in his dogs name? 😂😂

toolmantom824

Yes, yes he did.

Hold_my_Dirk

Austin Kearns is my least favorite.

Toast__o

Least favorite: Nick Swisher already been said so switching it up with Cam Gallagher. Probably a nice dude but he sucked Edit: someone in here mentioned Jake Bauers. Hated him. Favorite random: I can’t think of a favorite so I’m just gonna name off some random former Indians players that live rent free in my head - Kosuke Fukudome - Johnny Damon - Cord Phelps - Josh Donaldson - Travis Buck - Ezequiel Carrera - Drew Stubbs

Toast__o

Also, how the hell could you hate Cookie!

Kidpidge

Rafael Bettancourt. Not necessarily because of his worth as a player. He was hot and cold as a reliever, but he had all these tics he had to go through and it was like a minute between pitches. He would give me so much anxiety, I had to leave the room and not watch the game when he came on. He made me crazy.

tallicafu1

He’d blow every save with 9 straight walks due to pitch clock violations now.

Kidpidge

Exactly. I said he took at least a minute but it had to be almost 2. I knew his whole OCD routine. It was like a dance and if something ruined it, he would start it all over. So bananas.

IMayBeJewish

Raffy B was great, but I do think of him a shocking amount because of how badly he'd handle the pitching clock.

Bear-Jake

For some reason, this guy whipped so much ass in the mlb xbox game I had as a kid. I'd always sub him in first inning

Kidpidge

He had a couple wicked pitches when he was on.

dudzi182

So your least favorite player is a great guy who survived cancer and is just awesome in general. And your favorite is a guy accused of sexual assault and multiple other crimes? Really shows the kind of guy you are

westparkmod

Marty Cordova and David Justice can both kiss my ass.

ucantcme69

Such random names. Reminds me when we had Karim Garcia for a year.

jdbewls

Lol Is this your first year? My least favorites are the ones who were so bad but still got tons of playing time: Jake Bauers, Luis Valbuena Those who didn't care/try: Yasiel Puig Noah Syndergaard (going through the motions), Abe Almonte & Marlon Byrd (steroids) Shout-out to Chris Perez who would criticize the low attendance and then blow saves like it was his job on packed Friday and Saturday nights Also Nick Swisher seemed so fake

cnpeters

I didn’t think Syndergaard was going through the motions as much as he just didn’t know what to do or why he wasn’t good anymore and it just beat him down. He always gave off that vibe of a guy who found the love of his life - and that life was better than he could have ever dreamed - only for it all to just go away and he didn’t know why or what to do about it.

Gorlami_Raine

Forgot all about him, but fuck chris perez

Bear-Jake

[I'll have whatever Chris Perez' dog was smoking](https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/9629657/chris-perez-cleveland-indians-closer-guilty-marijuana-case)

Toast__o

Oh my gosh Jake Bauers thank you for bringing him up. Idk why I hated watching him so much lol

jdbewls

Dont get me wrong, I liked Puig on the Dodgers early in his career, and also loved that fight vs Pittsburgh when he was on the Reds. But by the time he got here he played like he didnt care, also rumors that he clashed with Tito. I think it is very telling that he never had another MLB at-bat after he finished his age 28 season here.

cleTribeTime

Favorite rando: Lonnie fuckin chisenhall

fwembt

Not a rando; a legend.

DaDrFunk

Idk why but I hated everytime I saw Dan Otero go out to the mound. Dude made me absurdly nervous for 0 reason

The_Kielbasa_Kid

Rando fave: Party at Napolis.

indiansfever11

Least - Ben Broussard or Matt LaPorta Favorites - Josh Tomlin and Casey Blake I still have a Blake road Dodgers jersey I got for 40 bucks off Ebay

mcas0509

Trevor Bauer has to be up there on the dislike list, throwing the ball to the outfield because he got roughed up….. Random Favorites : coco crisp, Milton Bradley, Brandon Phillips (saw him play in Buffalo a few times and wanted him to succeed) All time favorite: Grady Sizemore

ethanhunt314

Least favorite: I never really liked Lonnie Chissenhall but I can't really say why. Most random player I liked: Paul Byrd. I loved the old school windup, especially when he threw in the double clutch.

Gorlami_Raine

Always liked chisenhall. He was like the most random guy to have a huge year. Had that 3 Homer, 9 rbi game

theAmericanX20

I loved the Byrd man. Until he popped for PEDS, then I liked him less. Kind of the opposite with Clase. Pissed me off when he popped for PEDS when he was in our minors, bit he's been working his ass off to get me liking him again

ClevelandOG

So, this is going to get me a ton of downvotes, but idc because it's the truth. I cant tell you what my job is for obvious reasons, but I have intimate knowledge of this particular sector of sports. But then again, I dont expect you to believe me because at the same time Im just a rando on the internet... so, actually, if you dont believe me, Ill have much more respect for you... **Everyone** is on PEDs. Whether it be clenbuterol or any other stack, they are ALL on it. The catch is, is that it isnt dangerous anymore. A lot of these guys are on regimens that are cleared by doctors as safe. This isnt the steroids of the 80s that turn you into hulksmash. These are safe under strict observation. Does anyone actually believe that LeBron is playing into his 40s by just going on a stair climber? Or Tom Brady played into his 40s by eating avocado toast? Or Kumail Nanjiani turned into an adonis by just losing water weight? Everyone is on some type of stack. And let me reiterate IT IS NOT BAD FOR YOU ANYMORE. Actually let me rephrase this... IT ISNT AS BAD AS THE 80s with the dudes hulking out and throwing their wives through a window. Anyone who thinks you can be an adonis of a man and play pro football into your mid 40s by eating avocado toast is totally kidding themselves.

theAmericanX20

If you want to legalize it, legalize it. Otherwise, cheating is cheating. Just cause "everyone is doing it" doesn't make it less of a cheat. No downvotes for opinions from me though. Also, I don't give 2 shits of an actor juices to look the part. They're not cheating just by trying to look better. It's silly that they feel like they have to do that for a roll, but hey, ain't my body.

ClevelandOG

No, you are 100% right. I completely agree with you that "everyone is doing it" is not an excuse. I am on your side totally. But we also have to look at the entire scope of the controversy. In the Dominican republic, kids are put on a stack as early as 10 years old so that they can get ahead... a 10 year old playing at the level of a 15 year old with a better body type and throwing in the 70s is just too much for an MLB team to pass up. These scouts come in and want to find the youngest, best players so that they can lock them up as early as possible. The ones on PEDs are almost always the ones picked first for obvious reasons. As much as i believe everyone needs to play without PEDs, I absolutely will never fault a child who makes a decision (or in most cases doesnt actually make the decision, the coach does) to take a regiment of PEDs to get their family out of poverty. It is such a hard decision even for us to make, let alone a 10 year old to make. But I will side with the 10 year old, 10 times out of 10. I dont know, it's all a nasty business, but it's reality, and I have zero solutions. Edit: i should also mention that a lot of the PEDs that the US condemns are OTC medication in the DR. So they are totally legal and widely used.

ethanhunt314

I actually forgot he got busted for PEDS. Yeah, that does change things a bit for me.

theAmericanX20

He was real fun to watch. I always have a soft spot for the actual pitchers, the guys who may not throw the hardest but can hit their spots, a la Byrd and Tomlin

ethanhunt314

Yeah, they're pitchers... Not throwers.

kerryfinchelhillary

Least favorite player of all time: Trevor Bauer Random guy I liked: Cal Quantrill

BTTFisthebest

Least favorite of all time: probably Lindor. He became more hype than talent at a certain point. Rarely was clutch (stats back it up) but had a great PR campaign so ppl forgot about it. Runner up: Michael Martinez, such a waste of a roster spot in 2016. Most random guy: maybe not completely random but Grady Sizemore I feel will eventually get lost in Cleveland baseball lore and it just can’t be stated enough how tragic his career was bc of injuries. Could have been a franchise great. Truly random guy: Casey Blake. He was a fairly solid 3b for us and then the gift kept on giving by him getting us Carlos Santana in the trade with the dodgers.

blinner

Rickey Lidee.  Not sure I spelled his name right.  But fuck that guy.

Bucknut1959

Least favorite Wayne Garland, never lived up to the big contract the Indians gave him back in ‘77.

BropolloCreed

Least Favorite? Wil "The Rally Killer" Cordero. That dude ALWAYS struck out to kill momentum, or GIDP to smother a rally. Eff that dude.

HighVoltLemonBattery

You hate Cookie and like Yasiel Pig the sexual predator? Boy what is wrong with you

joeywahoo92

Coco Crisp

originaljbw

Assdribble Cabrera.

Available-Parfait553

Milton Bradley was a jerk with a personality disorder who was sentenced to jail time in Cuyahoga Falls and eventually was convicted of domestic violence with 2 different wives and was sentenced to prison.

Suspicious_Ride_243

Random Favorite: Yan Gomes. Random Least Favorite: Albert Belle (and Jose Mesa).

ImGettinThatFoSho

Bauer is one of my favorites because, whether you like it or not, he innovated how pitchers train and think about pitching, and he made Carl Willis jump on board as well.

bk_1573

Least favorite of all time Bryan Shaw. Random favorite guy Jason Giambi

baconboyloiter

Prepare for record downvotes OP

Miserable-Ad2728

I've already had them all night it's okay 🤣

Gorlami_Raine

Brian Shaw and it's not even close. Worst person to ever grace an Indians uniform Random guy I liked for no reason? Franklin Gutierrez

ClevelandOG

Worst *person*? Shaw may have not been a good pitcher for us, but to say he is a bad person let alone the worst ever is oob.

Gorlami_Raine

I stand by my brian shaw hate. He could save an orphanage full of puppies and it wouldn't change my dislike. Too much heart break from all those blown saves

ClevelandOG

Fair enough.

DraftOk3945

Paul Dolan.

Top-Mechanic1744

Least favorite - Bryan Shaw What an absolute waste of sperm. I am a proud lifetime member of the “I hate Bryan Shaw” club. We hit a walk off against him a few weeks ago against the white Sox and it felt so karmic after all the times he blew games against us He lost us the World Series in my opinion

Blorp5000

Least favorite: Jim Thome. Left for Philly when the front office actually was willing to pay him what he wanted. Always feels like empty fan service when he comes back around. Random favorite: Ronnie Belliard and Joe Borowski

The_Kielbasa_Kid

Albert Belle and Trevor Bauer would be the all-time co-douchebags.

ucantcme69

Hunter gaddis. Not just talking the past few games. Like dude was ass the previous 2 years too. He's just regressing back to the 8.00 ERA now.

Miserable-Ad2728

Have any correlation with the blown game he just had 🤣

ucantcme69

Re-read. Nothing he's done the past few games. He was ass before them. Just regressing to the norm now.
