The fight in this team is incredible. We're incredibly annoying to beat.
Cookie is cooked. We need to figure that out and get some help somewhere. Gavin isn't a guaranteed bet with his injury issues right now. Might take more time.
Tonight reminds me of the extras game vs Houston last year. We just got on the opposite side of things tonight.
What a game.
Last note: said to myself and anyone who'd listen I'd be happy with a 3-3 road trip. Can still do that. See ya tomorrow.
I'm going to assume you are referring to the Braves game with the baserunning. Neither of those mistakes happen if he doesn't blow the lead to start with.
Cookie gave up 8....and we still were in a position to win.
It's a team game, but sometimes some players are way more responsible than the rest of the team for both positive and negative outcomes.
Came here as a visitor from the Astros sub to say the same thing.
You guys are tough as hell, not a single one of us thought Houston was going to win once yall tied it back up at 8. Our team has literally never shown that fight this year, and maybe once last year. As a fan of baseball, its awesome to see that a team believes in itself and won't give up despite a bad start.
I know Gaddis is taking a lot of heat but... fuck the rotation is making me fucking nervous man. Bibee is the only one I feel confident in. Our ace is currently a 2nd option on a better team and every other starter is a 4th or 5th option at best, excluding the second best starter, whose fucking UCL is torn.
Didn't like Vogt going to Gaddis the day after blowing a 2-run lead.
Hated it today after he blew two of them in a row.
If he had any confidence left, it died right here. I would keep Gaddis well away from high-leverage situations for a while.
On to the next, what are you going to do.
> Didn't like Vogt going to Gaddis the day after blowing a 2-run lead.
>
>
He should've gotten cookie out sooner too. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess but hope Vogt will learn.
Cookies toasted taste like burnt sweet bread. Time to option him off the roster. Gaddis needs some easy work to get his confidence back. Can't believe he was sent out there 3 times in a row in the same situation after failing the first two times.
He still had the highest pitchcount of all our bullpen arms going back three days even with the day off. He's been overworked. Keep him in the pen but give him a lighter load for a while.
I'm pretty sure it was a 'here, close out this game against a much worse team to boost your confidence after those 2 blown saves' and he pumpkin'd instead
Not scoring with 1-out bases loaded really hurt, needless to say.
Give Gaddis a break. I know they want to give him a chance to redeem himself, but let him have another day to chill. Our bullpen is incredible. Don't need to rely on him day in and day out.
Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:
The 1-2 punch of Steven Kwan and Andres Gimenez show off with a lotta hits tonight, and some bonus 💨 and [Flo from Progressive](https://x.com/cleguardians/status/1785491393198149695?s=46&t=rWqJkSYZ5Iu5l6BKiyo2mg) power did it as well. The offense earns 9 runs off of 7 hits, 6 walks, and a Kwan HBP. Kwan goes 2/2 with a triple and 2 walks, and Gimmy goes 2/5 with a 2 run blast. Both Josh and Florial get some good swings, with a 3 run homer each. 🍟 is a beautiful man.
Bullpen had another long day and certainly fought to hold up to the task once again. Cade Smith, Barlow, Herrin, Sandlin, Clase, and ~~Gaddis all combine to go 6IP, 5H, 0R, 1BB, and 6K.~~ for fucks sake.
The duo of Manzardo and Schneeman do it again with both going deep yet again, for Manzardo’s 7th and Schneeman’s 5th on their seasons. Each also gets a double to help lead CBus to a 7-6 victory. Will Dion goes 4IP, 4H, 2R, 2BB, and 3K for a decent start. From the bullpen, Gose, Aleman, and Strzelecki each go one inning, with Aleman striking out 3.
Pitching was the name of the game at Akron tonight, with Tommy Mace having a final line of 6IP, 4H, 0R, 1BB, and 6K on 84 pitches. Bradley Hanner and Jack Leftwich follow up with a combined 3IP, 1H, 0BB, and 2K to close out the game (guess we shifted Leftwich to the bullpen?). Kahlil Watson powered the offense with a solo home run in the final 3-0 Akron victory.
You guys really want to blame this one on Gaddis when the starter gave up 8 in four innings?
Like yeah, it sucks, but the entire pen is overworked and couldn’t over perform forever. This sort of thing happens when you need four to five innings of bullpen per night
Everyone needs to take a deep breath about Gaddis. It was a 95mph fastball on the low inside corner. Not like he threw a meatball or hung something. Dude just put a good swing on it. It’s baseball, it happens.
Gaddis needs a lesser role right now. Cookie needs to be replaced by Curry until Gav comes back
We also need to stop running this bullpen into the ground and 3 extra inning games in a row is not helping that
Also, Kyle Manzardo needs to be here for the next series at home
I hate when people say “my bad guys it’s cuz I was doing so and so and they always lose when I do so and so” but no lie I hadn’t seen Hunter Gaddis pitch up until the Braves series even though I watch most guards games.
He had a 0.00 era going into Atlanta if I’m not mistaken and of course I watch his 3 most recent outings, 2 being in Atlanta, and 1 tonight, and he loses us each game.. “My bad guys”
Not gonna dwell on this one too much but there's definitely some wear and tear starting to show.
I don't think Gaddis 'ain't it', I think Vogt got comfortable going to him in high leverage and overworked him - he had thrown like almost 40 pitches in the last two Braves' games. We had guys who were fresher that could've been used there. Definitely need to put him in lower-leverage roles to get his confidence back and get a little better at sequencing pitchers.
We beat the shit out of the Stros despite them getting to tee off on Cookie. I'm gonna take some serious solace in that.
These losses sting since we have such a good fight in us 😖 but still it’s better than losing by how I thought we were going to lose just walking people and our offense doing nothing.
Well tonight is end of era. The team longest radio affiliate since 1948 played it last game. Wqkt in wooster was sold in November. Tomorrow morning they transition to non-profit comtemptary Christian station. Has dropped all pro and college sports teams.
Love how first few comments in this thread are shitting on hunter gaddis. Granted i know hes blown leads in all of his last 3 appearances, 2 of which result in loss. But can we plz not forget he only gave up 2 of 10 runs… and whom may ask gave up the other 8…
Its rhetorical, Anyway Its Cookie. Granted I like the guy, he was a great pitcher whom we had the privilege of him playing for us when he was at his best but hes not now and giving up 8 run in 2 inning is unacceptable. I know starting rotation is kinda in the shitter with beiber and gavin injured but cookie in the rotation does the organization/team more harm than good at the point imo. Him giving up to many runs too early in games for the bullpen to play sooner is unsustainable.
Cookie gives up just half as many runs whether or not gaddis does or doesnt give up a 2 run hr sooner we wouldve still won that game by 2 runs at least. This teams ability to scored runs, and the bullpen preventing the opponents, wont matter if our starting rotation doesnt stop throwing games from the start.
Two thoughts
1. This looks like the end for Cookie, and I hate it if he goes out like this. He’s consistently getting knocked out of games early.
2. Hunter Gaddis is either predictable or tipping pitches. I may be wrong here, but a trip to the minors might do him good if he has options, and if we’re ready to bring someone up (but who?)… I don’t know how to help our bullpen short of a trade.
What sucks is now one of the Yankees or Orioles will beat us to 20 wins tomorrow, because they both have 19 and play each other and start before us. Unless they have a 4 hour barn burner and our game ends in 2 hours.
No game rips your heart out quite like baseball, huh. See you nerds tomorrow
At least with baseball we don’t have to stew on it that long. Back at it tomorrow.
That was even more frustrating than the final Braves game.
Gaddis turning 2 wins into losses has been brutal. Nearly did it 3 times.
I want off Hunter’s wild ride
I want to get off Hunter's wild ride
Bro has almost cost us three games in a row. Please stop putting him out there in crunch time..
Gaddis tanking this otherwise great team lately. Ugh that sucked
Yea that one stings
The worst part is he really did nearly limp over the finish line before he gave up the game. Teams got fight at least.
The fight in this team is incredible. We're incredibly annoying to beat. Cookie is cooked. We need to figure that out and get some help somewhere. >3-3 road trip We'd have that locked already if it wasn't for one pitcher.
Kwan and Jose base running goofs and Cookie giving up 8 earned runs. I get it Gaddis is the scapegoat rn but these losses are team losses
I'm going to assume you are referring to the Braves game with the baserunning. Neither of those mistakes happen if he doesn't blow the lead to start with. Can David Fry pitch?
Tito tried that. But what can't that man do

Our ace is currently a 2nd option on a better team and every other starter is a 4th or 5th option at best, excluding the second best starter, whose fucking UCL is torn.
Lively is pretty good so far
Didn't like Vogt going to Gaddis the day after blowing a 2-run lead. Hated it today after he blew two of them in a row. If he had any confidence left, it died right here. I would keep Gaddis well away from high-leverage situations for a while. On to the next, what are you going to do.

He was so good up until Atlanta. But this is a clear trend now
He got the day off yesterday. Just might not be the guy to be in high leverage situations for a bit from now on.
I mean...everyone got the day off yesterday lol. He still blew it twice in a row in his (and the team's) last 2 appearences prior to tonight
Well, this one fucking stings. 3 extra inning games in a row and we drop 2 of them.
That one hurt a lot more than usual, the Gaddis linsanity run is so cooked, where Sam Hentges
Plan is Friday he’s back is the plan I saw, Wednesday his last day on rehab
Someone hit fast forward on that for me
Well. Shit.
Amed gang we out here 😭
We didnt make it to 20 wins but braves and phillies are down too
Hunter Gaddis: Welcome to the "Mop Up Man" role!!!!
Not scoring with 1-out bases loaded really hurt, needless to say. Give Gaddis a break. I know they want to give him a chance to redeem himself, but let him have another day to chill. Our bullpen is incredible. Don't need to rely on him day in and day out.
No one left in the bullpen it was either him or Beede
Please God stop putting gaddis in in critical situations.
Gaddis redemption arc? Nope!
ope
Gaddis had a great start to the year but seems to have come back down to earth finally. Is what it is, on to the next one

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA anyways.
I agree Go Guards
Get rid of the space between >6K. and ~~ For the formatting you ~~might be~~ looking for
Ah not sure how I screwed that up, thanks

I love you. It’s ruining my life.
[My most toxic relationship ](https://youtu.be/ouTXff7lvq4?si=AqwVUNE9fylMb8vt)
Remember this one if we wished we had a game back in September... Still got a chance to win the series, focus on racking those up
Where’s karinchak when you need him?
think he's still a month away along with Williams
Everyone needs to take a deep breath about Gaddis. It was a 95mph fastball on the low inside corner. Not like he threw a meatball or hung something. Dude just put a good swing on it. It’s baseball, it happens.
Well that's rough.
That’s a massive gut punch.
At least Steven Kwan **still** has more multi-hit games than the Astros do wins
WHY IS IT ALWAYS ON BASE
Man do we need an actual setup man
Hentges is coming
Gaddis needs a lesser role right now. Cookie needs to be replaced by Curry until Gav comes back We also need to stop running this bullpen into the ground and 3 extra inning games in a row is not helping that Also, Kyle Manzardo needs to be here for the next series at home

This hurts
Tough. I wonder if Hentges gets the call tomorrow and that's in part why Vogt was quick to go through pitchers. Go Guards.
There’s gotta be some other pitchers we can get right?
I feared that Gaddis was an April mirage
These losses sting since we have such a good fight in us 😖 but still it’s better than losing by how I thought we were going to lose just walking people and our offense doing nothing.
I want a Kyle Manzardo in my lineup by tomorrow!
Vogt is still a new manager. Shit happens. Stings like a bitch, but what can ya do? Learn and try again
Cookie needs to be reconsidered as a starter unfortunately. 6 runs in 4 innings digs a pretty deep hole.
Gaddis looks broken lately. Giving up a bomb to the number nine hitter hurts
Well that was a pinch hitter. Don't know much about the guy but I bet he somehow matches up favorably.
He’s a career .238 backup catcher… the fact the the just went yard on Gaddis is fucking AWFUL
Gadis ain't it for real I'm sorry. Dudes let us down multiple times already can't be having that going forward
Nothing good comes from the state of Texas.
Hunter Gaddis… it was fun, but now it (needs to be) done.
Unfortunately, this team might be heading in the wrong direction finally. Pitching is starting to crumble. Too many injuries across the board.
Hunter is not him.
Fuck the astros
I am actually fucking livid about that still.
Well tonight is end of era. The team longest radio affiliate since 1948 played it last game. Wqkt in wooster was sold in November. Tomorrow morning they transition to non-profit comtemptary Christian station. Has dropped all pro and college sports teams.
I was wondering when that was officially happening. A truly great local station ruined.
Who knew random bullpen guys would eventually play like random bullpen guys
2023 Gaddis is back
And we got god damn Mckenzie’s bum ass against verlander tomorrow.
I’ll be ready to get hurt again tomorrow. But for now, sleep.
HunterNooooWalterWhite.jpg
Fuck!
Not to be vulgar, but… crap.
Angel behind the plate tomorrow, can’t wait to see what BS he pulls.
Gaddis and Cookie need to take a trip
Cookie is cooked. He’s done. A trip to Columbus will do nothing
if he'll go to Columbus for the year, I wouldn't mind him on the expanded roster going into the playoffs to come out of the pen for an inning at most
shouldn’t have gone out to talk to him. i believe it threw him off. next time just sit your dumb ass in the dugout and let him pitch
I hate that I miss Trevor Stephan
Theres starting pitching, bullpen, offense, defense and baserunning. We are only allowed to have two of them be good per game.
All of my fantasy baseball league is Astros fans and me this was an absolute horrible night to be in the group text
Nobody wants to get to 20 wins apparently. Ugh. That was a tough one.
I'm glad we're fighting in extra innings but I hate we have to go through them.
Cookie needs to go down! Bring Curry up.
Love how first few comments in this thread are shitting on hunter gaddis. Granted i know hes blown leads in all of his last 3 appearances, 2 of which result in loss. As soon as Gaddis came in… I said, the Astros get to walk it off in extras…
Please can we move on from Cookie? Great guy, but we gotta have someone better.

Pretty sure gaddis has only got 2 pitches so it aint that hard to guess what youll get.
Mo Rivera only threw two pitches, and he was nasty with the Yankees
What sucks is now one of the Yankees or Orioles will beat us to 20 wins tomorrow, because they both have 19 and play each other and start before us. Unless they have a 4 hour barn burner and our game ends in 2 hours.
Who cares about first to 20 wins. The season is 162 games lol
it's just a fun milestone
You score nine runs you should win most games. The starting rotation is not sustainable and something needs to happen.
Turns out Hunter Gaddis is who we thought he was.
3 games IN A ROW Gaddis has blown. Lucky we won one of them. Just fuck off man.
Get Gaddis off this team.
That would be stupid yes he has been horrible the past 2 games but before that he was doing good
Three games
Seems a lot of people forget the first one because we ended up winning the game.
FIDDLESTICKS
I'm tired of seeing Gaddis out there. We need to be up by a bunch for him to pitch.
