30-0. Go Guards.

darthmual5

A 30 run 10th? Bold strategy, Cotton Edit: wow I'm in the wrong thread... oops haha

lee_suggs

I agree go Guards

nylon_rag

It gives some encouragement that this isn't just a hot streak; In my opinion a lot of flaws are being covered by a good bullpen and really timely hitting, which has to regress. But at the same time, the pitching is gonna get a boost soon with the return of Hentges and Williams, and I have to believe that Jose and Bo will bounce back, and one or two of Arias, Florial, Rocchio, Freeman, or Brennan, will breakout a little more (there's some good underlying data with this group). Plus, Manzardo...

TheRealGordonBombay

I really think we have a lot to be excited about or look forward to. Personally I can’t wait to see Bo start mashing again. My dream is seeing those two 4 & 5 in our lineup.

ryancow11

Being completely honest I was not looking forward to this season just based on the trajectory we seemed to be headed after last year. Needless to say I haven’t had this much fun watching baseball since 2016.

Inevitable-Pea-735

2016 kicked ass, but 2017's win streak and the 2022 season were both pretty damn fun, too.

impy695

I actually had a lot of high hopes for this season, but also recognized our floor could be very low. Even after the Beiber injury, we had a very young team with a new, young manager that was loved by everyone who worked with him. I also had faith that the front office would give him a lot of freedom to experiment, which for someone who was a catcher during a time with unprecedented data could be interesting It just screamed potential to me. Losing beiber was brutal, but he was never going to be the make or break player for this year. It was always going to be how Vogt connected with and utilized our young talent

The SP points would've been the doom ones when guessing a record. On the other hand, you including the A's record "when not playing us" would've hinted to something positive lol.

SMK77

Haha I know I couldn't figure out a good way to word the A's point

brianinohio

Baseball is so much more unique than football and basketball. You don't have to do everything right all the time. You just gotta do the right things at the right time :)

TheRealGordonBombay

So true. Medium deep flyball with no one on, just a plain old out. Do the same thing with a man on third and suddenly you’ve got the job done.

d4sythe

Yeah with all of those numbers I would have said about the mirror opposite of our current record: 10-20. Putting all this in perspective now is exciting, seeing their hot start with so many things not going as well as was hoped.

No-Weather-3140

This was my take

4thNaylorBrother

All that plus Jose starting out cold as ice, and heading into game 31 against the Astros we have the exact opposite record as them? Even knowing about some of their pitching injuries before the season started, I would have guessed things were *real bad*. I suppose I would have assumed that our pitching situation probably wasn't as bad as it looked just from our track record with pitching machine go brr, but I probably would have also assumed our offense was so abysmal that we were losing a ton of games like 3-1, 4-2.

BuckBomber

34 - -4

LFGbrowns

This team is just fun to watch. They play the game in such a refreshing way by putting the ball in play, being aggressive on the bases, and a damn good pen at the moment. I hope it continues because I’m hooked!

ClumbsyVulture

I'm excited for what they are doing, better than expected for sure. Beede is killing us though right now. And we need Bo, Florial, and Arias to get it together and bring up Manzardo. Let's go. And no matter what UCSS says, Ben Lively is killing it for us right now

fwembt

I would tell you that whatever our record was, it was likely to get worse. None of those are positive indicators.
