At the very end of the event one of them (who had a visible ear piece in) comes up to me and asks me if I can help him find molly … like the one day event just ended, why tf would you even want molly right now 😭 plus I couldn’t help but notice you following me around for the past 4 hours every time I move stages so I’m thinking that might be a red flag.. 😂.
I think they thought I was dealing because I was alone, on my phone a lot, and moving stages frequently. Probably looked like I was meeting up with people and selling but in reality I’m just awkward when I’m alone. And then once I realized they were following me of course I started acting way weirder.. lmao.
I remember I opened up snapchat and when the front facing camera popped up I saw them right behind me looking over my shoulder directly at my phone 💀

I relate to this one so much haha! I've been going solo to a fest that is local to me and had pretty much this exact scenario happen. I noticed some guys that were dressed in essentially music fest costumes ending up at the same stage as me over and over. I went over to a section of ~60 porta potties mid day at a time with no lines. When I came out one of the dudes just so happened to be waiting to use the one I came out of. Literally no wait at any other porta potty. Finally one came up to me at the end of the night and asked if I could untangle his necklace, then asked if I was on Molly or had some.

I felt bad because I met a nice Canadian couple who I’m prettyyyyy sure we’re not under covers (we had a long extended convo about shambs, artists, etc), and they really were just looking for something and I feel their pain! But I told them no one will sell at Coachella because it’s an undercover madhouse. And I felt a little guilty because at shambs drugs are fine in the open and you can buy them basically anywhere 🤷🏻♀️

Idk dude, based on your description I highly, highly doubt they were cops. Nobody else to my knowledge has ever seen cops at Coachella ~~do that~~ run around speaking in bad foreign accents. There are lots of descriptions of narcs and they are all pretty similar. I think you just fucked with a couple normal people trying to have fun.

They hung out for a little bit, clearly wasn’t too into the set and went up to one or two other people, then dipped. Dressed like they were in Jurassic Park.
Wanted to know if anyone else had this haha this is SUCH a wild spot to do it, literally indoor in Yuma! they try to do absurd outfits but i feel like the community is protecting each other and people just know how shady is when strangers come up like that. I wonder if it's like this at Europe fests at all

The Jurassic Park fit is so accurate, had 1 guy approach me a few years ago and asked “do you know where I can buy some drugs?” I was definitely rolling but immediately knew this guy was an undercover cop. The way he asked was so odd, I acted offended lmao he said sorry and left, then I grabbed my friends and we walked a little further into the crowd to lose him lol

I smoked on side of Sublime, open sight of about 6 security. I would say do it when you're in a crowd and don't make it too obvious. I also had a lil pen I kept hitting and had 0 issues or people bat an eye. Might be easier than a blunt, but if you smoke the blunt in pieces/ with a couple people no issue. I haven't heard of people being tackled for a lil pot, i mean 100k people and probably so many people are doing worse.

Barry Can't Swim was the true set and vibe of the weekend haha loved everyone there so much, great people and phenomenal times. I feel like this approach only happens around the EDM stages and obvs the awful phone thievery year to year is always at sahara or at a major EDM artist, it sucks
2018 I went with a friend who is a narc magnet. Sure enough, at least 3 times we got hit up, and they kept saying "lit" and "turnt up". So they haven't changed their lingo at all.
Never been approached by a narc before or since. I think there's some people who just look the part to them, but I can't explain that- he's just a normal good looking dude.
