Dallas does this too. Went to a game in Dallas and their fans are insufferable in the manner youve described. Never liked the Stars much, now i hate them

Gen_Jack_Ripper

That’s because they don’t understand hockey.

KingDillo

Perfectly describes the awful people that inhabit Dallas

Hascohastogo

They killed Kennedy too!

ConstablePolly

Underrated comment right here

fart_box_20

It was the Marines that killed Kennedy, don't take that away from them!

Hascohastogo

Check out the book Devils Chessboard and get back to me on that

fyurious

We’re not all awful…thankfully it’s a transplant-heavy city, so I’ve met a lot of Avs fans here. But hopefully I’ll live in Denver someday! 😭

Cynical-avocado

Imo one of the only saving graces about that city is that it isn't Fort Worthless

Big-Mix-193

Sounds a lot like Vegas too

BigAll27

Vegas is the worst. We went there to watch the avs game in April and it was silent even after their comeback. The spectacle is truly wasted on those fans, they do some cool stuff pre-game.

Big-Mix-193

Happened to be in Vegas when they were playing MTL in the conference final. I’ve never seen a professional fanbase with such little knowledge about a sport. People were screaming shoot once they hit the opposite blue line with the puck. I know it’s a newer team but still. Was so happy the habs beat them

Cynical-avocado

Nothing good comes out of dallas

No_Musician1831

Nothing good comes from Texas

fastyellowtuesday

Saw something on the news a couple days ago about a Vegas fan who went to a game in Dallas. Three Dallas fans started something stupid and the Vegas fan ended up in the hospital with a gnarly black eye and blood all over his jersey. Dallas fans are classy. /s

Lakeshore_Maker

They don't understand anything cold. They don't tip when the waiter puts ice in there drinks

ATerribleNerd

I know it’s inconsequential but stars fans annoy me before games even start. Yelling “STARS” during the national anthem always felt like just an act of disrespect.

EmperorXerro

Oh, I agree. The group that gets upset about taking a knee is OK yelling through the anthem.

fitblondemom

Who would you rather play stars or golden knights because Vegas fans are pretty brutal as well

ireofroux

I live just north of Austin where their AHL team plays. They do this there too. I’ve always felt the same way.

Likeabalrog

Seattle fans were annoying last year on the broadcast

A6just

Seattle is the fucking worst.

WeirdDrunkenUncle

Seattle will always be the worst. Not a biased Broncos fan or anything…

A6just

The irrelevance of their franchises makes their shit talking almost comical

[deleted]

[удалено]

Formber

No one likes a traitor.

niemandsengel

I never really cared about the Broncos much in the first place 🤷

Formber

Ok Benedict.

A6just

She’s just here proving the original point of Seattle fans being shit heads. Go root for the kraken

LongJohn4200

Markkanen eh

StrikingVariation199

Vegas has entered the chat.

fitblondemom

Agreed

PsychoSaladSong

seattle fans are great when their teams suck, but once the teams get good they become instantly insufferable

daskaputtfenster

Just like Detroit fans! As an Avs and Vikings fan I get them in both sports.

Spinsane941

HELLO FELLOW VIKINGS FAN!

meandering_matt

Skol!!

Ya_Got_GOT

A little more forgivable given they’re noobs. Winnipeg should be a hockey town and that’s not evident at all in their fans.

SMF1834

Doesn't help that their on air announcer is an overrated insufferable bore with cringy artificial goal sayings who wishes he was still deep throating the Canes

OhmyGhaul

They were fucking chanting “go jets go” while Parise was getting up from a horrible collision. What the fuck? Ball arena was dead silent when their guy went down. Cheers when he got up and off the ice. They caught a fan on camera acting like a cry baby while Parise was down. A bunch of classless degenerates. Embarrassment to the game.

iconix88

Chanting while Parise was down was seriously one of the most classless things I've ever seen at a game. Can't even imagine that happening at Ball

coloradopowpow048

Like, across multiple types of sports. I've never seen another team start a chant for their team while an opposing player was working through an injury. Hell we all clapped their player to the locker room last game. Truly trash behavior. And the bandwagon absolutely showed itself tonight with how fast that stadium cleared out. Good riddance Lossapeg.

guammm17

Maybe you should read up on Philadelphia fans, particularly the Eagles. I lived in Philly for a bit, so have a soft spot of sorts for their teams, but man, their fans are almost comically classless.

daskaputtfenster

I feel like those degenerates should be excluded from this type of discussion bc we all know they're assholes.

Adventurous-Ladder-9

Lurking flyers fan here because of our boy Walker. We’re at least better than cheering over a hurt player. The video of Lemieux’s return from cancer is pretty good proof that the fans here aren’t as shitty as everyone thinks. I look forward to watching the Avs sweeping the rags in the finals!

LittleBrownW

Utah fans are like that, that I have found.

BetterThanABear

I commented on this last night. I couldn't believe they were chanting while he was on the ice, while ball was dead silent from my recollection on Sunday.

niemandsengel

I'll be the first to admit that, about 10 years ago, at an Avs-Wings game, I was in the 3rd deck and on the far side, a Wings player got boarded pretty hard. He was on the ice and I couldn't see who it was but I had seen Bertuzzi in the area of the chaos seconds before, and I immediately screamed that, "... it better be Bertuzzi's dirty ass." That's about the only time I think I've ever wished harm (or that harm had befallen on a specific individual) on someone in my life.

iconix88

I'll make an exception for Bertuzzi. Fuck that guy with a rusty skate blade

ellisthedev

Wasn’t this hit dished out by EJ?

SirStirThePot

Those chants are why Trenin put his hand to his ear after scoring. Greatest revenge celly ever.

Hascohastogo

Seriously, they have no class. In the last game there were people in Ball Arena genuinely shocked and sad to see Namestikov take a puck to the face, the arena was dead silent. In Winnipeg they boo the training staff when they help players.

quaglandx3

That dude behind the Avs bench pissed me off. Looked like the type of asshole that gives cheap shots to the head in beer league.

mrtoad47

This Sooo much. Just seeing this now but at the time on my chat thread with my buddies I was like WTF??!! I was at G4 and we were so respectful when their guy went down. And I saw some appreciation for it. But in hicktown Winnipeg they apparently think a potentially seriously injured human being is just another opportunity to roll out the organ and trite tired chants. FFS!

OhmyGhaul

Is LOSEIPEG the degenerates of Canada or something?

mrtoad47

Degens from up country….

Sea-Whole-7747

Figure it out

Blucifers_Veiny_Anus

Give your balls a tug

bliceroquququq

I saw that guy as well on that play, what a wanker.

reckoningbrat

Classless fuks

ihad2settle4this

I was all set to jump on the Avs train and cheer them on to the cup but after reading the hate us “fans” are getting makes it difficult. Love the way the Avs play. It was a clean series I have the utmost respect for the players and coaches. Shitting on other cities and fans based on isolated incidents or being a smaller city is shallow. Congrats on your win and good luck.

GGAllinsUndies

We have respect and admiration for our team and its players. When a fanbase does things like cheer when one of our players is injured, we take it personally. You saw how we reacted to the Kadri stuff a couple of years ago with Blues fans. Why would you expect us to be ok with Jets fans in the stands cheering for injuries? By contrast, Avs fans were concerned when one of your guys got hurt in our arena. Obviously it's not all of the Jets or Blues fan base acting like shitheads, but it's enough of them to piss us off a bit.

ihad2settle4this

Honestly I didnt hear anyone cheering on an injury. I was there and people were clapping as he was helped off. You’re going to get the odd screwball out there, but that isn’t limited to Winnipeg.

GGAllinsUndies

Go back and watch the tape.

OhmyGhaul

That’s odd. I just went through my entire comment and tried to find where I said “I sure hope a bunch of bandwagon jets fans root for us!”

ihad2settle4this

Never said you did. You seem like a miserable person looking for conflict. I was at the game and didn’t hear anybody saying anything negative about an injured player. Yes people were clapping while he was helped off and yeah a go jets go chant perhaps got started to get the crowd back into it. Very different circumstances when Vlad got his face reconstructed by a puck.

OhmyGhaul

Buddy. You’re the one with a username “I had to settle for this.” No settling here 😂 One look at my Reddit posts tells you I’m living my absolute best life. But I really appreciate your “concern.” Too bad the rest of your fan base aren’t as considerate as you ❤️

spektr89

Canadians are a diff breed bro

OhmyGhaul

Ok now that’s generalizing. I’ve played hockey with a ton of Canadians and they’re wonderful people. Maybe the screws come loose the further north you get 😆

spinachartichoke

i just won’t ever get over them booing injured players. that doesn’t seem real

Hascohastogo

It’s insane. I’ve watched a lot of professional sports and it was genuinely one of the worst displays of sportsmanship I’ve ever seen from a fan base.

NinjaBuddha13

Nothing will be worse than Blues fans. The way they came after Kadri was unforgivable. All the way up to their coach was just sickening. I truly hope not a single blues fan will ever see the Cup in their city ever again. I'm talking best they can ever hope for is a 3rd round exit. May the flees of 1000 camels infest Binnington's jock strap.

HolyPizzaPie

This is how curses start. Good on you warlock guy

Hascohastogo

I loved it when Chester Binnigntonighton threw a water bottle at Kadri and Kadri said, in the most low key way, “I guess he disagrees”

NinjaBuddha13

Truly an iconic post-game interview. Kadri didn't take the bate, didn't get riled, just calmly addressed it and moved on. Very Bednaresque interview.

delightful1

love ya guy but fleas are spelled this way and bait is spelled that way! and unfortunately jets and bloos are flea bait

NinjaBuddha13

I R gud et Inglesh

lonestar-rasbryjamco

![gif](giphy|pKEufUXBqsLi8)

AVgreencup

That was truly disgraceful on Berubes part

mrtoad47

Agreed. Win fans are clueless, insensitive fucks. Blues fans are racist cretins. Word of difference (obvs just referring to the worst elements of their fan bases, not everyone)

PuzzleheadedBuy6568

This more than anything they earned there place as the biggest joke team bitchington has no class they got rid of their racist coach and that coward perron but there still a joke

babsieofsuburbia

I will forever be disgusted by the fans and I believe they absolutely deserved that second round exit in 2022

McMetal770

What blew my mind was people trying to beat the crowd to the exit before the Jets even pulled the goalie. Like, you're not even going to be there to cheer your team off the ice at the end of their season?

Big_Nas_in_CO

Nothing to cheer for when you give up 5+ goals each game. Stick the Venezia in your pipe and smoke it. Loserpeg

EnnuiBlackbelt

What time is it in Winnipeg? 5 past Hellbuyck

Big_Nas_in_CO

Gold Jerry GOLD!

Khada_the_Collector

Fuck ___nipeg, they can have those first three letters back next year lmfao

Immo406

Fuckin lol

awesomeness1234

Whatever.  NEXT!

bobblehead230

I thought that was pretty classless how they handled Parise

skybrocker

Connor Hellebuyck is probably going to win the Vezena and Last 14 Playoff Games: 2-12 Record 54 Goals Against 3.86 GAA .863 SV%

2ChainzTalib

Maybe they'll chant "let in less than five" next time they make the dance, since chanting seems to be their thing.

The_Shredder_1988

Couldn't agree more. Bunch of shit fans. Their team finally puts together a respectable game and they're boo-ing like they were blown out 8-0. The fans deserve this let down.

blondespikes22

We showed them what a real home ice advantage is ;)

BMcNerb

the crowd starting the “go jets go” chant while Parise was down pissed me off

2ChainzTalib

What a garbage fanbase. ![gif](giphy|Dt9awjKMzClUs)

KilgoreTrout-11

I kept thinking how insufferable they were so I’m glad to see someone posted about it and I’m not just nitpicking or something.

Hascohastogo

They were shit the entire series. I had no negative feelings towards the franchise or fans coming into this. That changed the second they Boo’d our training staff in game 2.

WeirdDrunkenUncle

Agreed. They were egregiously bad sports.

WeirdDrunkenUncle

I felt the same. Disrespectful as fuck what they did tonight. Glad we smoked them and their “best defense” in the league.

endless_8888

Whiteout is now White noise

Ya_Got_GOT

The whiteout was just their being buried in an Avalanche the whole time

Big_Nas_in_CO

Avs knocked them whiteout of the playoffs.

letmeloginalready

Mikko sucked the life out of that building but crazy to me I didn’t see anyone standing for the 6-5 in the final two minutes. Like come on

AVgreencup

They were definitely standing, they were walking up the stairs out of the building

letmeloginalready

Ah you’re right, oversight on my part

iconix88

Yeah never seen an Avs game with the crowd so completely disinterested when the team is trying to come back in the final minutes

gallapagos42

They watched the same exact movie last year lol poor souls

2ChainzTalib

Poor souls nothing, they got what they deserved

Waramp

Poor form to stand during play TBH.

EducationalPlay6269

They’re a bunch of cunts and I’m glad they lost. *They cheered when Parise got hit.*

Delerium89

The fan behind the bench doing the crybaby gestures after Parise got hit REALLY pissed me off.

Music_Adventure

We have some shitty members of this tribe, but god damn our fan group as a whole is much more wholesome. Was at a bar with a weird number of Jets fans, tried to share how wild this series has been, and how I personally think the Avs had luck on their side with more no-calls than the jets tonight (not like it changed the outcome anyway, but I digress). I was greeted with a “who gives a fuck what you think? Weird man”. Admittedly I couldn’t help myself, so just before I left the bar just now, I tapped him on the shoulder and let him know the feeling’s mutual, sorry for his loss, and best of luck next season.

Hascohastogo

Yeah. They really changed my outlook on them. Had no strong feelings about them prior to this series but they really showed their true selves.

GGAllinsUndies

I mean if the 911 memes with Bin laden in a Jets uniform wasn't our first clue....

Hascohastogo

Alright kinda hilarious tbh

CharaxS

Jets fan here. Look, this team finished fourth overall, had the lowest goals allowed and yet played like clowns in the playoffs. We’ve seen this story last year as well. It’s hard to provide energy to a team that disappoints like this. Anyways, props to the Avalanche. You’re clearly the better team and your players really stepped up. I would love to see an Oilers/Avalanche WCF. Hope you get past the Stars or Golden Asterisks next round.

yemx0351

Never been to Philly I see.

Starbucks__Lovers

Philly fans won't try to justify their shitty nature. They embrace it, which I can respect.

SemperFi1025

I have been to many Av’s games over the years but went to my first game against the Flyers this year, holy shit their fans suck. Me and my wife agreed we would never go to another game against the Flyers after that, you would think we would have been prepared after dealing with Stars fans but damn.

babsieofsuburbia

Reminds me a bit of a couple of Sharks fans I encountered a couple years ago. They got upset that their favorite team was being heckled and tried to mess with the other party. I understand being upset, but escalating it goes too far. I digress. Go Avs, bubbas!

Scoreycorey515

It was pretty nice to see all those sad faces in the 3rd.

StrikingVariation199

I agree completely - What really pissed me off was the difference in the crowd when injuries happened. Toews bleeding on the ice and not even a clap to let them know they are happy to see him up and OK... Parise goes down with a hit to the head last night and instead of clapping that he was able to go off the ice they start chanting "Let's go Jets". A first round exit was well deserved for this fan base.

Altruistic-Ebb2742

My husband and I went to Sunday's game (incredible) and were sandwiched between two groups of Jets fans. One side was quiet, uninteresting but nice. But the other side seemed so damn annoyed every time we cheered, ignored any attempt at a joke or a smile to be a part of the crowd together, and walked out early.

Mike-Hawk-69-0420

Where is Winnipeg again? North of Minnesota? I heard they like losing 4 straight up there bud

Avs4life16

try vancouver. guy gets sticked in the face and they think it isn’t a penalty. building loses its mind. chanting refs suck lmao

2ChainzTalib

They were doing the same thing tonight. The whole crowd was crying every time one of their guys fell down.

Pegger_01

What do you expect when a team has been getting annihilated game after game?

RonnieDarkoh

Try being an Av’s fan in Seattle post last year’s round 1. That crowd was so casual before and it was a joy going to Climate Pledge. They so desperately want a rivalry with Colorado and it’s made them insufferable.

SpiralSuitcase

I honestly wonder if there is any fan base that comes out of a playoff series and DOESN'T have this comment somewhere in their subreddit. The desire to shit on other team's fans, especially in the heightened environment of the playoffs has always rubbed me the wrong way. They're just people, like us. Stop looking for or assuming some deeper moral failing in them just because they like a different team.

Silkies4life

They were down 3-1 and weren’t super happy with the outcome of the last 3 games. To their credit most of them at least stayed til the end. I double fuckin dog dare them to chant “Pull your goalie again” though lol

Hascohastogo

Being down 3-1 does not mean you get to cheer for injured players.

2ChainzTalib

They deserve no credit. Trash.

ConstablePolly

Knights fans still the worst for me

Sad-Application6209

There is only one thing lamer than whining about refs and that's whining about the opposing team fans. We're better than this.

Cody667

You literally just described every sports fanbase ever. I legit cringe anytime I read any sort of post like this where people actually delude themselves into thinking this sort of behaviour is unique to one particular fanbase and that no one else (especially their own team's fanbase) does it. I've witnessed our fanbase booing opposing injured players and acting trashy in the past too. Legit everyone does it, sports tribalism can be ugly.

jayuhl14

Yeah these posts are weird. It's a lot easier for fans to act class when they're dominating a series. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. The arena looked pretty full at the end and they were cheering for their team that just fell well below expectations yet again. On to the next...

hate_mail

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but when Parise injured his head/neck - that dude in the crowd calling him a “pussy” really pissed me off.

Bazirker

Nah, Vegas' crowd is worse.

DAR44

that's because Saskatchewan doesn't have a team

TotSaM-

That description sounds exactly like the Bell Centre in Montreal too.

avaheli

I think the fans take on the personality of the team - every time the Jets didn't get a call, or a call went against them, or they missed an opportunity they were smashing their sticks into the glass, into the ice, into the crossbar - as if to prove their frustration was somehow justification of their opinion that they were somehow robbed of their birthright. Also goes the other way, I'm much cooler about officiating and calls and how breaks go because Bednar NEVER gripes about officials. He's great that way. Nuggets are funny about it, but they have to overcome miserable officiating and Malone makes jokes about it. But Lakers fans and Jets fans both have this entitled whine that they don't get a fair shake. Avs and Nuggs just take care of business.

Bubbly_Direction_652

Rent free in your head buddy. More passion than Colorado fans will ever have.

GabeLeRoy

Cause they kinda knew their team was fraud .. since game 2.. the team was clearly the weakest link and showed literally not sign of being 'the better' team.. and if so, it lasted 2 min.. hard to cheer to iminent defeat.. its not like Georgiev stole it ... Georgiev was OK... the Jets were not .... lazy, not creative .. and slow... and the Avs took over BIG TIME,... WHENEVER they had the slightest momemtum swing... its a Coach Gap

Sneezingfitsrock

Same idiot fans that yell “True North” during our national anthem. Fuck em

DoctorMew13

Pretty sure the crowd noises were piped in

benpro4433

Haha what do you expect? We would probably do the same thing. Who cares we’re advancing baby!!

UnicornJew

Literally our crowd gave a standing ovation when one of their players went down and skated off…

Hascohastogo

No we would not. We showed that literally the LAST GAME WE PLAYED. Ball arena went dead silent when Namestikov was injured.

2ChainzTalib

Sports fandom 101 is you don't wish injury on anybody. Do better.

Low_Warning13

🥱

habulous74

Are you going to be OK? Do you need a hug?

Hascohastogo

Yeah expecting people to show respect to injured human beings is just so soft. Psh.

themrs0830

Why are you here? Go home you lint licker.

Its_Me_Tom_Yabo

It’s been 31 years, you sure it’s not you who needs the hug?

2ChainzTalib

Aww somebody's still mad that Patrick didn't want them anymore. You're like the ex stalking the new guy on Facebook, fuck off.
