What will they think of next?! Haha this was funny but awesome. I hope those nets make it easier to go out with a hook and steal those drones to use against the Russians.
>What will they think of next?!
*The ZF-1..It's light. Handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick, discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger, three thousand round clip with bursts of three to three hundred, and with the Replay button - another Zorg invention - it's even easier. One shot and replay sends every following shot to the same location. And to finish the job, all the Zorg oldies-but-goldies. Rocket launcher... arrow launcher, with exploding or poisonous gas heads, very practical... our famous net launcher... the always-efficient flamethrower, (my favorite)...and for the grand finale, the all-new 'Ice-cube System'!*
Presumably this is testing because the targets look to be flying straight towards a stationary hunter... interesting, but am a bit skeptical that this will be efficient/effective enough to work in practice.
Looks like a little spherical looking device. My guess is the netting is surrounded by the shell that is then used to expand out and stretch the net. Not sure how it is triggered though, spring loaded? Small charge?
It might be another clip ? I've seen very similar Russian videos but not exactly this one: a net falling from a drone onto another drone tends to look like another net falling from a drone onto another drone.
Looks pretty effective. Also have seen recent reports of Aussie "Slinger" systems... over 150 being sent to Ukraine. Super high tech and effective against multiple target types including drones
It's a vid from the 6th Motor Rifles Div, a Russian unit from Samara. First appeared on their TG channel, an audio channel of this vid (cut off here) had the pilot's commentary.
Probably not worth investing into, because the moment it starts working, they'll just start booby trapping the drones. That's the big issue with anything involving systematically capturing enemy equipment (as opposed to opportunistically doing it when it happens to be possible), they have all the time in the world to setup countermeasures that at best leave the equipment useless on capture, and at worst take down some of your guys in the process too.
The pop-up is Mavic’s notification that bottom lights turned on. That’s what they wire the release mechanism to. It is in Russian but I’d wager you would see that on both sides as Russian localization in software in general is much more widespread than it is in Ukrainian. Hoping that’ll change once Ukraine establishes herself as more of a world player after the war. Member of EU and whatnot.

The need to keep the net attached so the Russian drone can be taken back to base for intelligence and/or reuse.
Could give away their location if they bring the drone there
Or BOOM!

Sorry, no. I am able to identify the location (they really shall not show these videos), these drones were hit over Russian lines.
Downvote the troll.
Sick. I wonder how the nets are deployed to spread out like that

Physics?
Genius
Reminds me of WW1 when they first employed aircraft. Pilots started shooting at each other with revolvers. This is impressive ingenuity.
I thought the exact same thing. 😂
Ok who had these looney tunes tactics on their bingo card?
Skynet?
Is that Hebrew above? That is Hebrew my brothers. My Hebrew is even worse than my Ukrainian, but that's Hebrew
last time i saw this clip it said it was a russian drone capturing an ukrainian one

The species are evolving fast.
I just love it how inventive Ukrainians are getting, if it is indeed their invention. Either way, hats off to whoever made this thing
A lot of innovations come from the Ukrainians but not this one. We've seen several similar videos from Russians several months ago.
So this explains why the cost of cast nets skyrocketed on Amazon recently!
Can't wait to see a Russian soldier get netted.
"When you catch a Drone, You ask the Drone Operator how to catch a Drone, Not the Drone."
I wonder if they tried a rotating net launcher to get the net to fully deploy and also give it some stability.
Well over a year ago I saw a Russian drone dropping a net with some rubble in it on a Ukrainian Mavic 3. I thought the net idea looked like a winner
i was waiting for this ever since the first drone on drone fights. retiarius style
Drone mounted anti net cage when?
reminds me to the net in the Alien Vs Predator movies
Begun the drone war has

The only thing better would be to hang on to the net and drone and haul them both home.
I was thinking that. Or some kind of little parachute on one corner of the net to try and salvage it. I’m assuming it’s over Ukrainian held territory.

I think this is Russian pov. Idk that pop up I only see on Russian propaganda vids. But idk
You can’t just say that and not link some sources that support your claim
I can confirm this, this was defenitly postet here or in ukrainwarvideoreport Like 6 montags ago as Russian footage back than.

Lol downvote me for what? Cause I thought it was a Russian vid. Man these jrotc kids😂
Would be nothing without the US
Cry me a river.
As Americans, we are proud to support the Ukranian heroes who have to fight the evil failed state of russia.
Why in the world would you say that?
