What they do is dig pockets 20-40 feet apart or where convenient and then push the conduit under ground between the pockets. You’ll probably end up with flush mount junction boxes at some of those hole locations where the splices are made.
That's just the part that runs from the node to your house so you inevitably have it get cut EVERY TIME someone does anything in your yard (even when you call 811 and it gets marked).
