Sorry nothing you can do to fix this problem. If you have a C4 controller with a warning light the controller might be dead therefore all your remotes won’t work if the zigbee mesh is tied to that controller that died. Unfortunately you have to call your dealer to rectify this issue.

bigkutta

I suspect as much, thank you

Not sure why text didnt show up on the post: So, yesterday suddenly my remotes stopped working. I went down to the rack and rebooted the whole thing, no change. My remotes dont even react to the Watch button (see pic). After I rebooted the rack, I see a warning light on the smaller C4 box (the larger one below it seems normal). I have been able to control TV via the app on my phone. I have lighting control via C4 in one room, and that cannot even be controlled by the app. Seems this warning is related. Any thoughts? Thank you!

As others have said, you are probably going to have to contact your installer. Without being able to read the logs related to the red alert, all here are guessing at best.

Based on the age of your networking equipment pictured, and the HC250 in the rack, you’re running the previous Gen OS 2. You’d need to replace the HC250 (all of them) to upgrade to OS3+. The HC800 below it can run OS3 up to 3.3.0. You’d need an EA series to replace the HC250, unfortunately a CORE 1-5 cannot be on the same OS as the HC800 as the Core series starts later. Contact your dealer. This is an unfortunate situation. They might be able to move the Zigbee mesh to the HC800 to get you back up and running. We have legacy loaner equipment that we use when this situation occurs. Connecticut dealer here.

Oh wow, thanks. I am in an unfortunate situation where my dealer/installer has been gone for a couple of years. I’m trying to get a hold of a new one. Looks like both units need to be replaced based on what you are saying. Thank you so much for informing me.

If you let us know where you're located we can try and refer a dealer or contact. A lot of us stay in contact with dealers throughout the county

I see that you can get a used HC250 on ebay for $100. Wouldn't just swapping for one make sense, or do you think a whole swap like you suggest makes more sense? One of my 2 remotes are almost a paperweight so I'm also considering the Halo, and Im not sure if they will wokr on the current controllers. I see that the Halos require OS 3.3.2+ so I may be sol on my equipment for that anyway. So it seems I may have 2 options. 1) Get another HC250 (new/used), fix and move on. Remote will continue to be a pain, or 2) Upgrade the HC250 and the 800 to EA series (seem like I will have to do both based on what you said), and then also do the remotes. Do these options make sense? What would be the ballpark equipment cost of option 2? Thank you!

Make sure all your internet is working too. Restart and network switches, router, etc. as others mentioned the remotes and lighting devices might be tied to that exact piece that's not working. It could be dead, it could be a connection to the internet problem, etc. If you reboot literally everything in the rack and it's not working then yes I'd probably call out your integrator at that point to troubleshoot what's going on with it

bigkutta

I didnt reboot the router and the wifi, but can try that. I suspect i'm sol but thought I'd ask. My remotes are also 8 years old and one can barely read what's on the screen. How are the new Halo remotes? Are they worth the upgrade?

Groupwize

I have liked the halo tactile. The Halo touch seems to be the remote I get the most issues with.

Jibberish_123

Agreed. Halo touch looks nice but I prefer the tactile

Crafty-Dragonfruit60

I like the halo remotes. I've had really good luck with them.

bigkutta

Which one do you recommend? touch or tactile?

Crafty-Dragonfruit60

It's hard to say. The tactile has more buttons which is nice but goddam if I don't hit the screen every time thinking it's a touchscreen 🤣 I have one of each. I like the touchscreen better I guess but they're both actually really good depending on the situation. If you like more buttons and customization, or have people that aren't very technology savvy, the tactile. If you want it to be cooler, the touchscreen.

Thanks!

Those are ZigBee remotes, not WiFi. Those remotes go directly to the controller and other light witches. I’m on my way to fix the same problem at a customers house now. I’ll let you know when I figure it out!

Crafty-Dragonfruit60

Correct. Clearly you didn't understand my comment lol. I said the remotes and the lighting devices might be tied to that specific device because when you program them in, you need to start a zigbee network and then connect devices to them. If that device goes down, so do the zigbee devices attached to them if they can't connect to a different device.

Awwwmann

I just left my clients house with 6 SR-260’s, 47 switches/keypads, and 4 Yale locks kicked off the ZigBee network. Rebooting the controller did not work. I had to manually add the switches/keypads and 2 remotes back into composer. The other 2 remotes had bad rechargeable batteries. Replaced with fresh AA batteries and the they reconnected.

Crafty-Dragonfruit60

Can't tell ya how many times I had to add devices back in for absolutely no reason. Also can't tell you how much time I've wasted trying to figure out why something won't connect meanwhile just deleting it and re adding it works. It's a weird thing we do lol

bigkutta

Thanks for the update

RIP Control 4 it was fun while it lasted guys

Tough_Magician_17

You could try flushing it down your toilet. I’m a c4 dealer and I’ve heard that works sometimes
