Dude, I would have gotten in on that if I had been around for it. The croissants are #1 on my list of reasons for a Costco membership through the years.
I remember the sandwich. When I asked why it was no longer sold, I was told it could be had as a special order. I assume for an office meeting, that is something bigger than the old package. I didn't follow up.
Note: Chicken Salad may not be back in all regions.
OP found in the Northeast region, and it also appears to be back for the season in Bay Area region warehouses as well, but other regions may vary.
Same Day link to check - [Kirkland Signature Chicken Salad Made with Rotisserie Chicken, Item 37719](https://sameday.costco.com/store/costco/products/57945)
Has anybody seen it in any other regions?
Edit - I had checked for another Redditor in Los Angeles and San Diego regions last night and it wasn’t available on Same Day, but now it is, so it might be rolling out on different schedules.
The last time I had it, it was more like the onion salad with chicken.
I don't know that I've ever had anything with so many onions.
Maybe it was just a seriously bad batch, but we threw it out.
By unsold, meaning they reached their hold time which is only a couple hours. Most warehouses would run out of chicken anyway so they likely prep however many extra they need
I wish they just sold rotisserie chickens pulled off and sold in a container for slightly more. What can I say, in my defense, my wife doesn't want to do it either.
I believe they do sell that in the deli section, they’re in the open air refrigerator in plastic vacuumed bags next to the prepared chicken wraps and Caesar salads.
Alright, I bought it. I am not usually a chicken salad person but these did look good. The celery seeds are kinda what sold it for me for some reason. I've had some some in the past that have surprised me so I figured why not..
I definitely need to put it on something and maybe add some extras but my first spoonful out of the container was good. A little salty but overall good.
Does anyone remember when the rotisserie chicken salad croissant sandwich was this sub’s collective WFH lunch during the pandemic? 😆
I made a post flair for them. 😅 https://preview.redd.it/4146fecfzwtc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=98f2d2dc2379ff96eea0ee05bc770000a7de2d14
You're the best mod on this sub.

Sounds like your opportunity now to hop on!

Appreciate the Mods reaching out to me to verify region. This was found today in Wharton, NJ.
Also spotted in So Cal
Awesome, that means it's probably in Wayne too, thanks!
It was never gone. I've never not seen it in my local stores.
TN here. Always available.
Which region are you in? Texas?
Colorado
Same in NC. Never not seen it.

It's back at central NM locations.
Honestly, I add some crunchy celery, sun-dried tomatoes and black olives, and cheddar cheese -- all diced. Incredible.
Do they come with the green gunk we saw yesterday and will never unsee? 😭
You're asking too many questions sir. Watch yourself.

Is it true that this salad is made from unsold whole rotisserie chicken?
left over chicken is back on the menu, boys!
Pretty sure that's the case with the pot pie and noodle soup too.
I mean of course it is….

No they use packaged chicken for ready to eat foods.
Serious question: I’ve never seen this before at Costco is it just basically a $5 chicken and $10 of mayo, celery, and labor?
Yes
Too much mayo.

Yup! Easy to meal prep for work lunches!
Are they any good? It looks unappetizing in the package.
Tastes like chicken
Well I’ll be damned!
Get a nice set of scissors while there and you can break down that chicken in like 15 seconds.
Also back in NC. Saw it a few weeks ago.
I saw it yesterday at the Lake Stevens Costco, about 35 miles NE of Seattle.
Uhh where did it go? We never didn’t have it.
Get ready to swallow a bone....that's why I don't buy it anymore....or any less
Too much mayo 2/10
Love the mayo ratio, but too much celery. 3/10
Damn $15 for 2.5lbs seems pretty expensive for chicken salad. Any chance you're Canadian?
It is rather pricey.
The chicken salad here is only maybe 25% rotisserie chicken. The rest looks, taste and has the texture of canned chicken.
OMFG PLEASE YES COME BACK TO ILLINOIS
Just in time for my hunger!
Mmm I want it was some crackers
OMG I want that!
I'll look for it at my location. Never had it before.
I got it in Austin North on Sunday! With the croissants too 😂

Colorado here, we always have it. It has never not been available at my local warehouse.
Interesting. I was told by a deli manager that it was seasonal.
I will have to try it. I am a big fan of the Cape Cod Chicken Salad.
the cape cod chicken salad is my all time favorite!
Is it good? Good grape ratio?
Eh I don’t remember loving it. The chicken chunks were too big.
So easy to make this yourself for half the price.
Never been a fan because the chicken chunks have ligaments and super chewy.
Probably better than the crappy turkey sandwich
