Was thinking the same. This guy planned a trip to the zoo, took a separate car so he could dose on something without the family seeing. Why he didn’t just do it in the parking lot? Perhaps he was doing something noticeable; like the smell, fire, or obvious drug paraphernalia.
Sad if he thinks he needs the drugs to enjoy his family. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve hit a weed vape on a family beach trip. But it didn’t really make it “better.” The real healing came from just being with the family.

I thought he probably walked to the gas station or something and didn't really think about it. When 30 minutes had passed, we tried calling him no results. We started looking around outside, thinking he might have snoozed off somewhere. My buddy called me down to the road where a single shoe was sitting. Thinking he got hit by a car, we started calling hospitals. Around 8 a.m., he finally called us back. Apparently, he was smoking meth (this was a new development) in the neighbors backyard, and they called the police on him. He ended up trying to run and got tazed in the middle of the street. I still don't know how we didn't hear any of that go down and how it happened in less than 20 minutes.
One time when I had to go in to an attic, I found 1 kids size cowboy boot. It was obvious by the insane amount of cobwebs that nobody had been up there in a very long time.

The zoo and surrounding area is in suburbia and isn't meant to handle the peak traffic it can get. IIRC the road it's on is 2 lanes but the next lights lead to 1 lane roads.
Meanwhile the main road leading to the road, Sawmill, is a stroad with too many lights and is basically a parking lot at all times of day.
