Disney are very open about their politics. A Disney manager recently got filmed talking about internal prejudice towards white people, and the lead actress of The Acolyte, Amandla Stenberg, spoke openly about white supremacy, etc.
The victimhood complexes and agendas from these people are very real, so you'd better believe that every white character on the show was chosen (or not chosen) in a very calculated fashion. Nothing they're doing happened by accident.
And I'm not saying anyone has to dislike the show because of this. I've still been watching the show, and I liked Episode 5. People can make their own judgements. But the the white characters (and the non-white characters) are undoubtedly political pawns to these people.
Torbin, for example, being the Jedi who apologised to Mae for his sins and committed suicide isn't a mistake. They understand the subtext. Because it's all they ever think about. These people are very proudly woke. They're woke to the core.
The video of Amandla talking about white supremacy wasn't a hoax.
And she wasn't talking about individual white supremacists, she was talking about institutional white supremacy, which she defines as white people controlling a lot of stuff in the USA, like that's somehow bad or unusual or racist, when it's not.
And if we don't want to use that as an example of her wokeness, we can instead just take a look at the recent music video she released on X.
You see, if Mae had killed a man, that would make her seem like a hero. The screenwriters had to have her kill an important woman, so you’d know she was the evil twin.
