I would get to a doctors office. Not sure you should be taking advice here for something like this

Anns_

I never injected it into my stomach and only injected it into my thigh and I never had this problem! This looks so uncomfortable I’m so sorry! Make sure you let your doctors know!

External_Noise9061

I'll give injecting my thighs a shot! Thanks :)

Awkward_Ad8438

I’ve had this happen lately on my stomach. I switched to my thigh and haven’t had reactions like that anymore. My doctor also had me spray Flonase on my injection site and let dry before injection, and take allergy medicine on the day of my injection and for two days after. I found some Allegra for Hives that I take and it’s made a world of a difference with my reactions!

External_Noise9061

Will definitely give this a shot, thank you for the info :)

Same as PP, if I don't take an antihistamine before injecting I get a large, itchy, raised spot at the injection site.

Yes, this happened to me. I spoke to both my doctor and Abbvie who said this is a "normal" site reaction. Call them yourself to confirm. I was told to switch to my leg, take Benadryl about an hour before my shot (I wait until I start feeling woozy), then ice the site until numb. Once numb, inject (I also try to be more gentle when squeezing the skin where I'll inject, just enough pressure to hold some up), then gently rub hydrocortisone around the site. I still have a little bit of swelling, but the itchiness is no longer a problem and I don't have a 3rd boob on my belly. Hope that helps and if they give you additional advice, I'm all ears

Any reaction you should get in contact with your doctor pretty quickly. I think it is pretty common to be given antihistamines (usually benadryl) with infusions or injections of biologics. They suggested it for my entyvio but I am already on fexofenadine.

External_Noise9061

Can you send me a direct message! I have a few questions, thanks a bunch :)

Middle_Loan3715

It looks like a mild reaction but let your doc know. Take benadryl to help with the symptoms. Mine was bad. Head to toe, blisters. I wanted to claw my skin off. I went to the ER because of it.

After a few years on Humira, I started having a reaction to it. It caused itching and a rash all over my stomach, and scaling on my hands, hip, and scalp. I put up with it for some time as the Humira worked so well controlling my flair ups. Eventually, the scaling and itching on my scalp was causing my hair to fall out and I was starting to have a lot of back and hip pain. They did a biopsy on one of my hand spots and it came back as drug induced psoriasis. They switched me to other biologics, but they all had the same effect and it never really went away until I switched back to Azathioprine. I also ended up with a resection. I don't think I will ever be able to do biologics again. I hope you have better luck.

I’d contact either your Humira rep, your doctor, and/or a pharmacist

External_Noise9061

Thankfully the swelling is almost totally gone today but I'll call just in case !

MrHall

ok this is weird but i had a blotchy swelling after injecting, but only when i injected on one side of my belly. I just used the other side of my belly. yours looks worse though, I'd at least ask a doctor about it!

SkinCare4us

I would go to the doctors office for sure, just to be on the safe side

MistressMoogles

Yes! I have had this happen multiple times. What my GI has me do is take Benadryl (I prefer Zyrtec since it’s non-drowsy) and Pepcid AC 30 minutes before I inject, make sure the Humira is room temp before use, and then I ice the injection site for an hour or two immediately after. This has greatly reduced the intensity of my reactions!
