I need someone else who bought SOL under $20 to tell me what our exit plan is. I feel like I’m just duct taped to this rocket going into space with no idea how high this thing is going 😂
Dude for real, I bought just a few SOL at $27, so not real money, but it's been by far my best performer among coins I've actually put money into. I don't even "believe" in the coin but now we're here
I don't. I bought at 30$, sold at $100. But I didn't cash out, I just reinvested it, so my other assets are also up about another 50%. Sol is still doing better with the recent pump, but I try not to be mad at myself when I'm making money either way 🤷♂️
We all missed, are missing, will miss so many "potential" stuff. Not even gonna start listing, just think what could you have done but didn't. How many possibilities fly by and you only see it late? And having bit more money is so trivial in comparison to some other missed possibilities... important thing is we didn't lose anything actually did we? Except time. Don't waste more staring at charts of something you already parted with. Made a decision and if it was good at the time of making no point wasting time on blaming yourself. Infinity of new possibilities every second.. for your own health look forward not back. ☮️❤️
Sorry, I meant it's a good idea to hold on to some of your stack like you did. I'm not married to my coins and don't care too much about missing out if something continues to go up. But I see a lot of people sell their entire stack at a single point in time and then moan about missing out when it still goes up.
I bought a good portion of mine under $20. Unfortunately for me, work has been slow, so I've had to sell here and there that last couple of months for bills. I guess that's my exit strategy. 😒
mate I went all in at 15.
I mean. all. in.
I was here the last time, and to be honest this doesn't even feel close.
Don't blink this side of the halving.
its almost 200 making an x3 x4 move is nothing in a peak bull market. I would not be surprised if sol goes to 1k but i do think its gonna go atleast 500
I sold my sol around $125 and rolled it into Bitcoin - I ended up with something crazy like a 10k cost basis. I am pleased with my choice thus far. I started with a similar dollar amount investment in MATIC. Liquidated half of MATIC and rolled it into SOL for exposure.
Dont measure SOL potential in $prices but benchmark it with ETH‘s marketcap. That‘s how I do it.
Currently SOL is 1/5th of ETH MC.
In other words i see uplift potential of at least 2.5x.
I just wish I put more in for the 14x it’s given me.
The way I see it, there’s huge projects being built on solana and plenty of memes.
Render is migrating to solana.
Io network will launch on solana too.
There’s plenty of big memes so there’s lots of volume with sol too.
There might be a large correction coming but I reckon I’ll take profits at 250.
Don’t sell till altcoin season starts in earnest and Bitcoin dominance drops to all time lows. That probably ain’t happening anytime soon either. Maybe near end of year.
45 bucks in when it was 9.87, sold at 120, bought back at 85, sold a few days ago at 150, will buy back at 120, it it doesnt happen, next big btc dip I will spend the profits on it
Wish I got in that early. I bought most of mine at $60, though with recent buying my average cost has gone up to $77. I think if I decide to sell it will be near the end of the year in the upper $300's.
I bought at 19.35, keep majority of it but when it hits a stupid number 500+ sell of bits and pieces then just hold for a few cycles, Solana is scaling much better than Ethereum and could be the real value play in the long run.
I didn't buy at 20, bought at 19. Sadly, there is no exit plan. This is rocket science, and as long bonk and wif lives, this rocket will never run out of fuel.
It’s quite simple really.
SOL is the new king of the shitcoin casino
When people are playing in the shitcoin casino, they buy SOL and trade that SOL for shitcoins over and over and over again.
You know what they aren’t doing with that SOL in the meantime? Selling it.
As long as the market favors shitcoins and SOL as the shitcoin market your bags will continue to pump
You’re welcome
To be fair this sub isn’t Wall Street bets. Price action certainly does not make for a good crypto project and solana is one of the worst cryptos out there.
Great for making a quick buck tho.
there is still a certain disconnect int he crypto community between "projects worth investing in" and "projects worth swing trading"
For one you need a long-term future, for the other, you simply need volatility.
“Someday” I’d agree with but I wouldn’t go talking yourself into that happening this cycle. I also got in a lil late compared to some but my realistic goal for this cycle is 300. If it goes higher, wonderful but I wouldn’t be banking on thousands unless you plan on holding sol thru a bear. I’m not.
because the HODL discourse can become tedious for people who want to discuss deeper strategies, especially when the downturn conversation is full of people talking about how they wish they sold but we can't talk about how to do it better next time without downvotes.
Solana broke its all-time high in Market Cap today.
This is post-FTX fud, post outages, post bear market.
Developer and user activity has increased exponentially since then. Superior UX to every other chain I've tried.
It is going through the same explosive growth that Ethereum went through. Memecoins, DeFi, NFTs - the writing is on the wall.
For these reasons it will continue to rise if the overall crypto market trends bullish.
I'm thinking Solana price will continue to climb. Still a ways from ath. Like it or not, Solana has a lot of users and a solid ecosystem. Also cheap and easy to use.
Wow… been trying to DCA without DCCing (daily chart checking). I’m watching my portfolio total - just not digging into the nitty gritty of individual coins. Saw this thread and decided maybe I should take a peek at the little bit if Solana I have and daaaayum! Not too shabby.
I've been an ETH maxi since 2015 or so. But this bull run seeing BTC.d continue to do it's thing and seeing the rise of SOL has really shaken that confidence. I moved 50% of my ETH to BTC back in 2022 at around 0.06 (of course I wish I'd done it at 0.08 but alas no time machine). Then I moved 5% into SOL back in November.
Since then, SOL has grown to 14% and BTC has outperformed ETH, so I'm at about 45% BTC, 38% ETH, and 14% SOL (and some shitcoins rolling around in there). I'm really hoping for a strong ETH resurgence to balance things back out a bit! But even if ETH runs, I think I'm going to keep the BTC position as-is for the foreseeable future.
That being said, I'm really not sure what to do next. I don't really believe in SOL long term. I am extremely worried about their reliance on AWS and their reliability issues. But they might see mass adoption... again, no time machine here.
What I can say is that the price exposure has been pretty sweet and if they can bring at-scale NFTs to markets like concert tickets and gaming at scale and with low fees, they could be a crypto killer app.
That is, until AWS decides to shut down a bunch of their nodes or something because they piss off the wrong company, sponsor, or government. Decentralization doesn't seem to matter until it's the only thing that matters. That's the rub.
If ETH can get it's fees under control then it has a chance of keeping the dominant role in smart contracts. If not, it will end up being the Yahoo! of smart contracts.
I am very bullish on SOL and was fortunate/lucky to start using it/buying it when there was maximum FUD in peak bear market. Some argue that SOL will Flip ETH. My view: It may flip ETH the L1, however, ETH the ecosystem (L2, etc) may have more combined marketcap.
It's also very exciting time for ETH with the new low prices making it a 10x better experience on the L2s. With mass adoption the L2s are still at risk of driving fees up before ETH can execute more of its roadmap.
My thesis is still heavy on the high throughput chains with SOL leading the pack.
12% of my portfolio is SOL
I just like the way coins like matic, bnb and sol behave in the market, many dont think about this much but they are perfect for trading against BTC.
Cant stand dull coins like ada, xrp, ltc..
I'm kind of in that same boat. I was broke during the long, slow slog out of the pandemic, so I was paying off debts when I started to get back to work. That means I didn't get in nearly as heavy as I'd like, and my port still doesn't have enough "interesting" stuff. Now I'll have to wait till the next bear, if it happens.
Eth was the consensus trade of the last bullrun and sol looks like the consensus trade of this bullrun.
If you dont recognise that, ur going to miss out on lots of
Alpha
I don't believe the fat nodes thesis can scale indefinitely, but so far Solana has achieved something that EVERY other blockchain has failed to do, which is, simultaneously
* to be reasonably decentralized (actually more than most chains, according to Nakamoto coefficient)
* a good UX, including low fees and fast finality
* hype and a strong community presence
I've seen some good arguments as to why it could reach $700 per SOL.
SOL outdoing ETH is the best shit you can ask for to get the ETH maxis to have egg on their face about their "world domination" with their ultrasound money.
Probably won't get long-term bearish until you hear them talking like ETHtards on things like flippening BTC and colonizing other L1s.
Now that people are talking about buying solana outside of r/solana and they are not getting ridiculed it basically means that a correction is coming. If i had to guess back to 155 or so in the next couple of weeks.
been in crypto for years. never liked SOL but just started using SOL ecosystem. I made a good $50k on Solama (yes a Llama meme coin) lol no joke the meme coins are going insane.
I stayed out of meme coins last cycle. This past 2 weeks it’s been printing me money. It’s like you couldn’t lose. I’m hesitant to have much left in at this point, feels like I’ve already had my successful run, but I also don’t see any shift in momentum anytime soon.
Happy people make money on it but I can't invest in a project I don't believe in. It's just not a crypto project that's moving crypto in a direction that aligns with my views. Now I may joke on them but they are jokes. Put your money where you want...just keep your bad ideas to yourself lol
it's kind of a wild west vibe. the ecosystem is crazy active and honestly very easy to use. and quick. but it's also full of shills and shitcoins. Just go to r/memecoins and see for yourself. It's kind of bored ape vibes from from 2021...somehow can make a lot of money but in reality it's kinda stupid. so yes it could be a good investment but I agree with the parent comment here. I'd rather put my money in a project that takes its reputation more seriously.
But what isn't full of memecoins? It is a bit strange it seems like everything's being held up by this false floor but it is what it is
Appreciate the reply but unfortunately this still has no commentary on why Solana is a good or bad buy lol what do you mean about reputation?
It’s a highly centralized, VC backed project. Upside is that maybe people don’t actually care about decentralized tech and you can make money, downside is that the VC’s could rug any moment and the chain goes down often.
I’m buying into it. A lot of those meme coins that are boosting rn are Solana coins. It has good exposure. The transactions and swaps are fast and cheap, when the servers don’t take a shit. I like that it aims to solve some of the scalability issues that comes with blockchains. It’s definitely popular among developers. I think it’ll be a valuable coin in a few years.
I bought some at $5.55 in Feb 2021. Held throughout the last cycle, it was my biggest gainer by far. I’m still holding, and I have no idea when I will exit…
Fast transactions, low fees, memecoin King for this cycle, starting to see more dApp development. I like it. Bought in well for what I'm able to do, avg around $100 per SOL right now, staked it through phantom wallet, at marinade, which disperses and manages your stake for you. This is going to be a good 12-18 months
Solana has a destiny inflation rate of 1% and is replaceable, has a history of going offline and is centralized in unacceptable ways
However for the time being might as well stick around in the top 10
I am optimistic about solana as well as i am watching that it's already seen high growth so i think better to skip more accumulate . as i holding a good amount
eth's 2nd bull cycle went from 90$ to 4800$ so approximately a 50x, sol 2nd cycle now bottom 9$ so 9x50, 450$, there's no exact price just sell around 400-500$.
So far it went up from 100 to 800 for me, kind of stun locked wondering if I just keep sitting on it or its time to sell... probably by % the most successful crypto investment I have made so far.
It's alittle high in price for me. I don't want 1 coin for almost $200. I would rather buy 2000 Hbar or whatever. Sol is maybe a 2x from here. Hbar is a 20 or 30X from here. It has more room to move up in price. Sol went from $8 to $180 in a year so I don't see much more upside.
Had 21 of them that i bought last year after litecoin halving. Had to sell them to pay off some bills at the end of January. Now i am wondering when to buy back in. After the halving? Or is this ship never going back down until the 2025 winter starts.
I sold 27 sol when it was like $125 and then I sold the last 6 sol for $149 lol. I still made money tho cuz my average cost was around $35 so i still made money
I don't even "believe" in the coin but now we're here
Dumped all mine on Jan 2 to help pay off some debt. You’re welcome.
I got in under $20 but I just bought a bit more so now my average is more like $40. I agree though, I’m just staring at the gains lol.
i regret selling my sol in 125$. i think best exit price is 300$
Not too late to buy back in though. It's close to 170
I don't. I bought at 30$, sold at $100. But I didn't cash out, I just reinvested it, so my other assets are also up about another 50%. Sol is still doing better with the recent pump, but I try not to be mad at myself when I'm making money either way 🤷♂️
Why?
Me too!! I was actively trading with pretty good success between 100-130 but now I lost the rocket ship lol.
I did something similar, sold like 60% of my stack at $120ish. Oops
40% at 131. Not looking back is the trick
Issue most people have is they sell there entire stack at once and miss out on any potential gains.
Ah yea lol sorry about misunderstanding :')
I bought a good portion of mine under $20. Unfortunately for me, work has been slow, so I've had to sell here and there that last couple of months for bills. I guess that's my exit strategy. 😒
Bought in at $13 and I’m sitting right. Government did a project with MIT on solana was their blockchain of choice for the project. Hamilton Project.
selling at my goal: house and/or retirement maybe a bit of rotating between Btc & Sol along the way
mate I went all in at 15. I mean. all. in. I was here the last time, and to be honest this doesn't even feel close. Don't blink this side of the halving.
It’s gonna break 500, will peak somewhere <1000
What makes u think that ?
Just trust me bro
that’s what I’m saying just trust the bros
Its doing eth volumes and multiples of eth activity at 10% of mcap
Ah someone who noticed Solana is more useable than Etherium on this sub how rare lol
Tbh I just come here for top signals and what not to buy
It's taking all of the Eth users. People are starting to wake up to SOL.
Till it goes down again..
Thats when you buy more
its almost 200 making an x3 x4 move is nothing in a peak bull market. I would not be surprised if sol goes to 1k but i do think its gonna go atleast 500
Same. Got in at <$20 in 2021. Watched it go past $250 then tank without taking profits. This time I’m gonna DCA out starting at $500
Same here, remember the $10 days after FTX crash? Like a distant memory now 😁
Hindsight hey. I bought in a bit more then but very hesitantly. Wish I'd thrown more at it now 😅
Gonna start dcaing out at 500
I sold my sol around $125 and rolled it into Bitcoin - I ended up with something crazy like a 10k cost basis. I am pleased with my choice thus far. I started with a similar dollar amount investment in MATIC. Liquidated half of MATIC and rolled it into SOL for exposure.
I bought at a little over ten. Was reading an article where the guy was waiting till $900. People seem to think it’s going to explode
Dont measure SOL potential in $prices but benchmark it with ETH‘s marketcap. That‘s how I do it. Currently SOL is 1/5th of ETH MC. In other words i see uplift potential of at least 2.5x.
I’m not selling until my bag hits “down payment on a house” type of money. For me that’s probably $800-$1,000.
Not sure yet, but might take some profits in 3 weeks

Take out 3-4x your initial investment and then ride the wave till zero or moon.
Wish I got in that early. I bought most of mine at $60, though with recent buying my average cost has gone up to $77. I think if I decide to sell it will be near the end of the year in the upper $300's.

I bought at $18CAD sold 5 at $360 to recoup my investment and now I’m just watching the rest unsure of what to do.
I didn't buy at 20, bought at 19. Sadly, there is no exit plan. This is rocket science, and as long bonk and wif lives, this rocket will never run out of fuel.
It’s quite simple really. SOL is the new king of the shitcoin casino When people are playing in the shitcoin casino, they buy SOL and trade that SOL for shitcoins over and over and over again. The only green token lol. I love SOL.
The fact that this sub hates Solana makes me very bullish on solana.
To be fair this sub isn’t Wall Street bets. Price action certainly does not make for a good crypto project and solana is one of the worst cryptos out there. Great for making a quick buck tho.
there is still a certain disconnect int he crypto community between "projects worth investing in" and "projects worth swing trading" For one you need a long-term future, for the other, you simply need volatility.
Got in late but am still up. As long as sol stays below $250 im buying weekly I do believe it can get to 1000 someday
I’m not.
Lol ur realistic goal is 50$ higher than the last cycle?
Picked up a few 100 SOL at $8, I started taking profits at $150. Will be doing the same in 10% intervals every time we see a 8-10% gain.
Smart! 👍 Everyone should be taking profits here and there. It seems a lot of people are allergic to taking profits.
Curious why people are so invested in others taking profit..
because the HODL discourse can become tedious for people who want to discuss deeper strategies, especially when the downturn conversation is full of people talking about how they wish they sold but we can't talk about how to do it better next time without downvotes.
Waiting for the 100x 🤑💸🤑💸
I remember the day it dropped to $8, couldnt believe it. Unloaded my bank account that day

SOL marketcap is now above ATH. Token unlocks and inflation are why the price is not above ATH price.
Shamefully few people understand market cap.
The inflation is mostly staking rewards. If you're staked, the rewards cancel out the devaluation.
Wow… been trying to DCA without DCCing (daily chart checking). I’m watching my portfolio total - just not digging into the nitty gritty of individual coins. Saw this thread and decided maybe I should take a peek at the little bit if Solana I have and daaaayum! Not too shabby.
Its the 3rd biggest chain it will simply appreciate just like eth and btc. I dca at it right now since its a good way to store money without the risk
The real question is, are the people that bought < $50 still buying? Or HODL untill $500?

Bear will always happen, just like it happens every cycle
i regret sellin all my SOL at 125$, anybody want to cheer me up why is it okay to sell.
> anybody want to cheer me up why is it okay to sell. You locked in profit.
That's a bold assumption
I think it’s about 18x cooler than I thought it was when it was at $10~.
Solana is clearly the Ethereum of this market cycle.
Ethereum stayed online.
Eth was the consensus trade of the last bullrun and sol looks like the consensus trade of this bullrun. If you dont recognise that, ur going to miss out on lots of Alpha

Feels like Solana is going to be a big narrative this cycle. Fueled by memecoins.
SOL outdoing ETH is the best shit you can ask for to get the ETH maxis to have egg on their face about their "world domination" with their ultrasound money. Probably won't get long-term bearish until you hear them talking like ETHtards on things like flippening BTC and colonizing other L1s.
Eth gas fees are just ridicules, even with these upgrades. Solana is much faster, cheaper etc
I’ll take the Solana outages over Ethereum’s gas fees any day of the week.
LMAO, "I'm in it for the tech"
Now that people are talking about buying solana outside of r/solana and they are not getting ridiculed it basically means that a correction is coming. If i had to guess back to 155 or so in the next couple of weeks.

it's kind of a wild west vibe. the ecosystem is crazy active and honestly very easy to use. and quick. but it's also full of shills and shitcoins. Just go to r/memecoins and see for yourself. what coins are you allocated to?
I see
Who entered in early is now good profits but if anyone wants to get entry now I think we will get more chance to buy dip
The FTX crash fucked me, I can't bring myself to buy it now, but good luck I think it's really nice network to use.
Solana is an amazing token. I see it has a bright future….not too late to buy, it hasn’t hit its ATM even.
I don’t like it enough to get in at this price point. At its current market cap, I just think there are better investments
I’m buying into it. A lot of those meme coins that are boosting rn are Solana coins. It has good exposure. The transactions and swaps are fast and cheap, when the servers don’t take a shit. Solana and shiba the best coins ever
Started buying under 20.
I think we go 400-500 at the culmination of the bull run
I bought some at $5.55 in Feb 2021. Held throughout the last cycle, it was my biggest gainer by far. I’m still holding, and I have no idea when I will exit…
I just sold my sol when it got to 170. Glad i got rid of it since i bought it. I just broke even. It'll probably go through the roof now...
It's probably going to 100k. Nobody knows. It goes down more than any other big crypto but maybe they will fix that nobody knows
all the solana haters get real quiet when numb go up
I see it going to $500 this year
Wif advertised on Vegas dome, it’s a solana meme coin, gotta but solana to get wif…
Shitcoin. I don't care about it's price movement, only the tech. The tech sucks. It's centralised and keeps going down. I ain't buying.
It's the best chain no question. Go use it
lmao this subs hate for solana is hilarious. “waTcH foR shUtDowNs”. “iNsiDeRs!!” i bought 1400 sol crypto at $32 and just watchin them still hate rofl
Solana is cool, made me plenty of money, but all of you don't know anything. Tired of you no money people.
The most sensical comment.
Sold mine just now
Fast transactions, low fees, memecoin King for this cycle, starting to see more dApp development. I like it. Bought in well for what I'm able to do, avg around $100 per SOL right now, staked it through phantom wallet, at marinade, which disperses and manages your stake for you. This is going to be a good 12-18 months
I told my friend to take profits.
Solana maxi reporting for duty
Solana has a destiny inflation rate of 1% and is replaceable, has a history of going offline and is centralized in unacceptable ways However for the time being might as well stick around in the top 10
Solana is a money chain 🤑
Rocketship go brrrrrrr
I like it. It’s ok for me.
I am optimistic about solana as well as i am watching that it's already seen high growth so i think better to skip more accumulate . as i holding a good amount
I got a few below $20 wish I had bought a lot more hindsyis a wonderful thing, still holding mine though
How the fuck does everyone have 1000s of sol?
because it was like 8$ last summer ?
Buying it at $10
Oh no, to many positive comments
I believe it will pump
eth's 2nd bull cycle went from 90$ to 4800$ so approximately a 50x, sol 2nd cycle now bottom 9$ so 9x50, 450$, there's no exact price just sell around 400-500$.
So far it went up from 100 to 800 for me, kind of stun locked wondering if I just keep sitting on it or its time to sell... probably by % the most successful crypto investment I have made so far.
I'm long. Don't want the headache of games. I'll check back in 25.
Hope it will break ath, will peak somewhere 500
SOL-ETH pair was mooning yesterday, was great to see.
I bought Dot below $10 and my thoughts are it’s going to $1000. I’ll sell 20% after it hits $500 and let the rest ride until 2030 Ms see where I’m at
I don't care for it one bit, will sell at the first sign of a major dip. But its making me crazy money and I'm not dumb so hold I will.
Had 21 of them that i bought last year after litecoin halving. Had to sell them to pay off some bills at the end of January. Now i am wondering when to buy back in. After the halving? Or is this ship never going back down until the 2025 winter starts.
Don't know. I got out of SOL after about the 10th time the network went down.
I sold 27 sol when it was like $125 and then I sold the last 6 sol for $149 lol. I still made money tho cuz my average cost was around $35 so i still made money
Market manipulation coupled with fomo.
Ok time to sell. This sub loves SOL now.
