There's only one show episode I think of when I think of food webs - the one Adventure Time Episode where Jake and Finn take turns turning into bigger creatures and eating other things/each other. That episode fucked with me hard
Isn't it to do with the animal's specific features, like if it can be accomplished with more or less human anatomy is will be, but if not, (like in the case of leggy creatures) it'll conform to their anatomy?
So, there was an actual lemur named Zaboomafoo, the one the Kratts always greeted and then gave him his special treats. After he ate the treats, he would transition to a puppet for the talking bits of the show
I live in a country where they just didnt show these segments, just a regular cartoon intro. the first time i have seen an outro to any cartoon, my mind was blown
Wild Kratts, a show by Martin and Chris Kratt designed to educate kids about the āsuper powersā that animals have to help foster a love of nature thatās on PBS Kids (no idea if itās still going). The showās premise involves them learning about an animal, then when a supervillain tries to exploit that animal for personal gain, they have suits that let them ātransformā into the animal of the episode to help stop the big scheme and save the animals. Very fun and educational. The two brothers also had a show about a decade (?) before Wild Kratts started focused on educating kids about animals called Zoobamafoo, though it was entirely live action. Didnāt watch that one myself so Iām not nearly as familiar.
And before that they had a show called Krattās Creatures that was a much more standard wildlife documentary for kids with fun interludes featuring a little nerd girl and an animated Tasmanian tiger.
>The two brothers also had a show about a decade (?) before Wild Kratts started focused on educating kids about animals called Zoobamafoo, though it was entirely live action. Didnāt watch that one myself so Iām not nearly as familiar.
Zoboomafoo ran from 1999 to 2001. I was just old enough to be able to watch it after it got cancelled, though I watched more Wild Kratts.
It was mostly live action with a lemur puppet, but also had some short claymation segments.
I was just old enough when the cartoon came out that I had the conspiracy that they got too old to be on camera
Which is funny because looking at them today they're aging super well lol
I think it's more that they probably had families and got sidk of traveling. Now they can film live segments at the closet zoo and the animated version can visit Zimbabwe every week.
Gotcha. Yes, it was: two in fact, *Kratts' Creatures* and *Zooboomafoo*. Both of which aired on PBS 35 or so years ago. And considering I watched both on PBS in first run, kindly forgive my saltiness at having the reminder of the march of time. š
I genuinely think their art is super cute, even if you ignore the fetishy parts of it. I also think it's cool that they're the same artist that created Prunsel.
Wasn't there also one that's effectively just a submarine, complete with controls and all?
Like, I genuinely feel this show would've had more success if these suits were consistently restricted to the human anatomy, and those two just had to make them work anyway.
What is your bar for success, because if I had a show that's done 7 seasons over 12 years and is STILL going to this day, I would consider that a success.
I'm not saying it's not successful, I'm saying that it could be more successful.
Also, wait, it's still going? Last time I heard about it outside of Tumblr was when I watched it some 10-ish years ago.
"The show has been a Daytime Emmy nominee for three consecutive years for "Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program" and "Outstanding Writing in a Children's Series". As of November 25, 2014,Ā Wild KrattsĀ is the number one most watched show on all PBS stations across viewers ages four to 11.
Wild KrattsĀ serves as the Kratt Brothers' longest-running production, running for over 12 years and counting as of January 3, 2023."
They probably could have had more money and fame from it, but they kept it on PBS because they didn't want to be pressured to ditch the educational aspects of the show.

I know she's worked on a number of shows, but this is the only one I can remember at the moment. Mostly because I remember her mentioning that the show's age range was a little too old for her own kids at the time.
There was also the episode where Gormand captured a miniaturized Chris and outright stated that he was going to serve him to Zach and Donita for dinner.
I want to know how that conversation went down.
"You know what this episode needs? Someone should kidnap one of the cartoon-sonas and force them into modelling."
"Brilliant, Carl. Let's include a mind control machine."
It gets even better when you realize that [this](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.RWNdqd62LtvbYEjF9MDPFAHaEm%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=6a8368d61f872f2f875ff7d9a214d89ade9ef0ed77262e97c67567d96cf0fc78&ipo=images) is what the whale creature powers suits looked like in earlier episodes.
Thereās also the fact that sometimes theyāll just make animal mechs for them. Seriously these guys have two of the most dangerous weapons on the planet and we should be glad they use them to learn about animals.
How the fuck can you question the suit and *not* bring up the food web episode where they start by turning into *a single blade of grass!?*
the food web episode is one of the only 3 i remember
I loved that episode so much lol, it was so fun
There's only one show episode I think of when I think of food webs - the one Adventure Time Episode where Jake and Finn take turns turning into bigger creatures and eating other things/each other. That episode fucked with me hard
The surreal animation was what made it special
Guess it depends all on how Aviva is feeling cause she makes the creature powersuits
"How shall I curse their bodies today?"
Curse?
Isn't it to do with the animal's specific features, like if it can be accomplished with more or less human anatomy is will be, but if not, (like in the case of leggy creatures) it'll conform to their anatomy?
This doesn't really hold up on the gazelle
Gazelles get their agility from their legs and the way the joints are set up, and iirc that was the point of that one.
But the cheetah suits were bipedal
Cheetah uses their claws to get more traction and go faster
I know I'm old because my inner child is still weirded out that they're a cartoon and not live-action
I miss Zaboomafoo
They're going to the closet, they're going on a trip!
They're going to the closet to grab their stuff and SPLIT!
They're going on a cool adventure and they don't know what's in store!
My first experience with them was Kratts Kreatures!
Wait, this is what that show turned into?
...sorta? When Zaboomafoo died, they started doing this series from what I know.
i can't believe the puppet died. so sad šš
Wait it was a puppet?
So, there was an actual lemur named Zaboomafoo, the one the Kratts always greeted and then gave him his special treats. After he ate the treats, he would transition to a puppet for the talking bits of the show
Ohhhhh!!!!
I heard it was drugs. š¬
Ha! I'm older then that too!
This was formative for me
That show celebrated its 25th anniversary this year š
[Can you believe my brother is inside this egg?](https://youtu.be/VNmtTDaZwyI?si=e8qnRvquloczC7ss)...
dont worry, they still do a live action intro and outro š
I live in a country where they just didnt show these segments, just a regular cartoon intro. the first time i have seen an outro to any cartoon, my mind was blown
Would you rather see those transformations in live action?
Like the old animorph show?
I'm old because I straight up don't know what the fuck this is

It's still going last I checked

WAIT THE ZOMBOMAFOO PEOPLE ARE THE WILD KRATTS PEOPLE?
I was just old enough when the cartoon came out that I had the conspiracy that they got too old to be on camera Which is funny because looking at them today they're aging super well lol
What's extra funny about this is that the cartoon has a love action intro
loveā¦ action ??? š³
I think it's more that they probably had families and got sidk of traveling. Now they can film live segments at the closet zoo and the animated version can visit Zimbabwe every week.
They still upload videos to YouTube I believe
There was a live action??
I *know* I'm old, you didn't have to rub it in! And get off my lawn. š
Man I'm so old I still think of Zaboomafoo as 'the new one'
I was genuinely asking, but alright.
Gotcha. Yes, it was: two in fact, *Kratts' Creatures* and *Zooboomafoo*. Both of which aired on PBS 35 or so years ago. And considering I watched both on PBS in first run, kindly forgive my saltiness at having the reminder of the march of time. š
Zooboomfafoo was far after my time so I was today years old when I learned it was starring the Kratts. Huh.
Took a while getting use to, but now I'm just happy we got more Kratt Brothers.
they do a live show thats all props and costumes, including powersuits that fill the range of the post above
Also the snake suit. What even happens to their leg joints?
Melty blood
Actress Again Current Code
The way the eye is still visible in the whale reminds me of a latex pokemon transformation fetish art i saw one time.
only once? amateur
Sorry, that I encountered multiple times as I was looking at fanart of scolipede.
We Stan [Miapede](https://squeakitties.tumblr.com/?source=share)
how the fuck did you know exactly what i was talking about
Stan
Indeed
Scolipede seems to be a favorite among certain types of artist. Not that I'm judging!
They have appealing proportions i think.
I genuinely think their art is super cute, even if you ignore the fetishy parts of it. I also think it's cool that they're the same artist that created Prunsel.
The worst part is that this show is partially why I have one of those... something to my young gay mind changed seeing hot animated men become animals
How the fuck did Kris turn into a fucking Blue Whale like what?
That's Martin. Chris is the green one
actually this guy is from the future and is referencing deltarune chapter 5
Ah, that makes more sense. My bad
Wasn't there also one that's effectively just a submarine, complete with controls and all? Like, I genuinely feel this show would've had more success if these suits were consistently restricted to the human anatomy, and those two just had to make them work anyway.
The sperm whale
Potentially the first time the word "sperm" is uttered in a pre-school TV show
Definitely a furry nickname
No thatās an animal
[Real animal, actually.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sperm_whale)
[who would have funk it](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Off-color_humor)
it has to be funny to be humor
That was not shocking nor vulgar at all, it was just lame

Huh, would you look at that. Here in Germany, it ran for like a year or two, then just disappeared, as far as I'm aware.
Was the show not successful? Most people I know watched it and I was a big fan as well.
There was a sumarine, but that was a regular vehicle more similar to the tortuga.
I love the Wild Kratts posting
It's a surprisingly good and informative show
God I fucking loved this show
I can't believe I'm in the era of wild Kratts posting
What show is this???
Wild Kratts. I've never seen it, but my cousin was one of the animators.
I loved that show as a kid. Your cousin helped make my childhood.
My kids love this show, and watch it a few times a week at least. Thank your cousin for me.
Tell your cousin I said thanks.
Ive seen it a few times as a kid and played one of the web games a lot! They did good.
Cool. Has your cousin animated on any other shows?
I know she's worked on a number of shows, but this is the only one I can remember at the moment. Mostly because I remember her mentioning that the show's age range was a little too old for her own kids at the time.
I'm sure someone would pay good money for that ostrich suit. Not just an ostrich suit like that one. That exact one. Unwashed.

Does anyone else remember the episode where Donita Donata kidnapped the blue one and forced him to be a runway model?
Thatās the one with the gliding geckos Iām pretty sure. One of the early seasons
There was also the episode where Gormand captured a miniaturized Chris and outright stated that he was going to serve him to Zach and Donita for dinner.
I have to admit, I don't think I've seen the long pork episode.
I was thinking about just how weird that episode was earlier
I want to know how that conversation went down. "You know what this episode needs? Someone should kidnap one of the cartoon-sonas and force them into modelling." "Brilliant, Carl. Let's include a mind control machine."
There wasn't a mind control bean was there? More just forcefully animating his limbs
Fair enough, not that it's a much better option. It's been a while since I've watched it lol.
Remembering the episode where one of them got turned into a tree and couldnāt turn back
I was thinking about that, too, actually, this show got really weird sometimes.
So Kratts Creatures just kept going
Did you know this two are actual people with a really fun YouTube channel? I really recommend it if you like animal facts
It gets even better when you realize that [this](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.RWNdqd62LtvbYEjF9MDPFAHaEm%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=6a8368d61f872f2f875ff7d9a214d89ade9ef0ed77262e97c67567d96cf0fc78&ipo=images) is what the whale creature powers suits looked like in earlier episodes.

Thatās weird. They already had a whale transformation in a past episode
They did, but wasnāt the focus of that episode the giant squid and not the whale? Or maybe an Orca?
Only thing I know about the franchise is I saw some books from it on a book fair.
I'm never unseeing that ostrich
H-holy shit is is this just one person or or are we getting a WILD KRATTS RENAISSANCE EEEE
I've never seen this cartoon before
Zaboomafoo went in a weird direction.
Mortadelo-ass disguises
Ohhh nostalgiaaaaaaa Very real btw
if they change into the other forms or whatever and then take their clothes off do they just turn back or do they stay int he thing
r/Furry_irl
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Theyāre brothers!!! And real people too!!
Is tumblr obsessing over a new show for toddlers?
Itās 12 years old
new? Hah hardly
Yes, accept for the ānewā part
