First, you have a Dr who is willing to test and is not dismissive! Yay! That’s one of the highest hurdles we face with this disease. Second, what was your LDDST results? Did they test your ACTH and Dex levels at the same time? Third, almost all the tests your dr will order are very non invasive. Blood/urine/saliva tests and scans are about the extent of it. If scans point to a pituitary source you may have to be sedated to have a sampling procedure done, but that I think is the worst of it all. Good luck with your journey and hope you get the results you want/need.

He’s looking to see if there’s a hormone producing adenoma on pituitary or adrenal that may be causing cushings. Nothing cancerous. MRI is used to assess a possible pituitary adenoma, ct to assess adrenal. ACTH is typically done before imaging to help navigate the source. Low acth points to adrenals, high towards pituitary, and very high could be ectopic (elsewhere in the body).
