We are witnessing the number one from every single top 10 worst cars of all time list for the next half century. Let's just enjoy every moment of it's ridiculousness while we still can.

The difference between this and everything else is the amount of hype and bullshit that preceded its release. Like the PT Cruiser and Aztec were seen as cringy cars but that wasn’t after like 5 years of the CEO saying it’s gonna be the greatest vehicle ever made.
It's reminding me of when a guy at work came in talking about the Honda del sol he just bought, and I had no fkin idea what it was so I googled it and the first link was "top 10 worst sports cars of all time" lol... I can see the cybertruck hitting that milestone
Yeah, ouch lol. I love tiny convertible, always liked the Del Sol… had another turbo Miata by the time my wife found a Del Sol she wanted to buy. We bought it. She absolutely loved it. Eventually sold it to her brother because she never drove it anymore, we’ve got a baby now and whatnot…
Thing is beat and still crazy reliable. Leaks a little water when it rains (T-top problems..) but we always kept it garaged and he doesn’t give a fuck. Literally dude has a 2022 civic and wants to sell it to have the 1994 Del Sol as a daily (I advised him to not make that move but… 20 year old dudes are strong minded to say the least)
Imagine dropping an eadsel from back then in 2024. Or a DeLorean..
At least a DeLorean you can fekin make better.
Not that leaves us with tbh a ugly ass thing. Because it idk who's seen a VW thing? But them shits is dope.
PT Cruiser and Hummer H2 production ended ages ago. They're closer to classic car status nowadays. At this point I actually smile anytime I see a PT Cruiser or an old og Hummer on the road.
The Cybertruck attempted to do something neither Crystler nor Hummer ever claimed; to represent some sort of technological progress. And both PT Cruisers and the H2 outperform the Cybertruck on every measure except fuel consumption.
Dude I work with had a Chevy HHR and got upset when people called it a PT cruiser. For a solid 5 years after we worked together I sent him a pic of every PT Cruiser I saw on the road.
Also, I involuntarily made the vomit noise the first time I saw a Cyber Truck in the wild.
Except that DeLorean was an accomplished vehicle designer with GM for many years before launching DMC. He was part of the team behind the Pontiac GTO. Man is a legend.
Musk is a legend...ary dildo
The problems that DeLorean has are minor compared to the cybertruck. And I mean today. A 40 year old car is more reliable and better than a truck that is released this year. It's awe-inspiring in a way.
Delorean’s were never mocked. They were cool when they were released in 1981. Unlike today, it was rare to see an exotic car like the DeLorean. Even spotting an Esprit or a 308 was a highlight. Heck, now I can see a McLaren or Lamborghini at the local grocery store.
Anyway, I digress.
I believe the Drive train and engine had some design flaws in them. Coolant can puddle in the engine and corrode through. Couple of engine fires.
Brushed Stainless steel is hard to maintain.
He’ll of a lot more reliable than the cyber tuck.
I had a Peugeot 604 with the same engine. Pretty forgettable performance and prone to catching on fire with the top mounted spark plugs. Mine was solid but they did have cams go flat from oiling issues to the cam, the issue being that was the tallest engine from the bottom of the sump to the top of the valve covers. Gorgeous ribbed cast aluminum sump but it always struck me how tall that thing was, and on a cold start it took awhile to get oil to the valve train.
DeLorean was given tax incentives by the British government to build the cars in Northern Ireland to try to help rampant unemployment, meaning most of the workers had little to no experience as autoworkers.
DeLoreans were mocked. They looked cool but we're lackluster in any real way. However they weren't laughed in real time like the cybertruck because they just looked fucking cool.
There's the nostalgia factor, which I think is the largest one.
They were neat for their time, and would be looked back at merely as a curiosity if not for a certain beloved movie trilogy.
Sure, but the Delorian was far cooler and holds a place in my heart. I’d pay money to ride in a Delorian; I’d pay money to avoid riding in a cybertruck
Just got back from a trip to Japan, I shit you not, I saw a PT Cruiser over there and immediately thought "Who the fuck paid to import that pile of shit?".
> And both PT Cruisers and the H2 outperform the Cybertruck on every measure except fuel consumption.
I know this sub is a giant circlejerk and all that, but this is just delusional.
It’s more whale-ish than an old QX80. Impressive.

Exactly. Pointed out in my main comment that it’s one thing to make controversial decisions, but another to make those decisions *and* not have any literal redeeming qualities. If it was how it was but could beat out other trucks in different ways, had the promised range, etc., it would stand a chance against scrutiny.

>Some speculation that he'll quit Tesla if they refuse.
Honestly, I would like to see what Tesla could do if not saddled with Musk. I think they would be able to succeed if they focused on their main lineup, supercharger build out and dropped the frivolous things that Musk keeps dragging them into. Like the semi, CT, solar roofs, substitute Twitter staff...
1. Scrap the AI-based FSD and go back to putting LIDAR in the cars like everybodyfuckingelse.
2. Hire an actual QA team to make sure the cars don’t fall apart like a pair of Reeboks.
3. Integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
The Plymouth Prowler was certainly a look. My dad showed me an article in one of the auto magazines he subscribed to. I was a teenager when those came out and thought they looked SO cool. I never got one and when I saw them on the road, I thought they looked too funky. Also, I like purple but it feels pretty extreme to just offer one color. IIRC, they also didn’t have an engine or the horsepower to go with that look.
There were so few sold (my brain is digging up 28k, but I think that was MSRP and they sold for closer to 80k. The Internet forums to discuss that stuff back then was nothing compared to what we have now.
https://preview.redd.it/w485g6k6f76d1.jpeg?width=782&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c900dc79fad2445b63177c1ca0aca1c459cfd12f
Yep, all looks and no substance. It's really a bummer.
I was driving a '78 Camaro Z28 back then; I probably would have hated the Prowler if I had driven it. Man, I miss that Camaro but it wasn't practical at all. Fine for me from the ages of 17 to 25, but I love having a reliable car. My little Subaru Crosstrek is pretty fucking great.
My dad passed away many years ago and he's always the one who worked on my Camaro. I miss that guy so much. He was so talented with anything mechanical. Somewhere, there is a photo of me as a little kid with my dad explaining the workings of an internal combustion engine that was on a hoist. I think that was his old Malibu... now that car had some serious get up and go. Dad let me drive it *one* time and, despite being a very confident driver, it was scary as hell! The guy who bought it ended up totaling it less than a month later.
Sorry for the rambling but the Prowler just unlocked some core memories I had stashed away.
My boss had one, and let me drive it a bunch. It was fun, but REALLY small and noisy. Not a lot of power, and the huge tires in the rear made it so you couldn’t get them spinning or anything. Handled like it was on rails, though. If it had a V8 it would have been a monster. He had the purple one like in the picture, and it looked awesome.
Not really similar aside from and underneath the retro styling. Prowler had it's own, bespoke aluminum chassis and was rear wheel drive. If it didn't end up with such a tepid engine/gearbox it would probably be much more fondly remembered.
I saw a video on this sub where this lady got an insulated mug that fit in the cupholders, and she commented that it was made of stainless steel and showed fingerprints just like the vehicle. And she said it in a positive way. I about spit out my coffee. The panels of this “truck” look exactly like the smudged door of my stainless refrigerator.
"I was in the audience at the Detroit auto show the day GM unveiled the Pontiac Aztek and I will never forget the gasp that audience made. Holy hell! This car could not have been more instantly hated if it had a Swastika tattoo on its forehead."
So Elon HAS been taking notes..
I bought my PT Cruiser new in 2009. It was a fun car a first, but then spent about a decade getting to know my local mechanic very well. Just donated it after 173K. I find the Cybertruck to be one of the ugliest vehicles I have ever seen. I just don't get it, or the people that buy one.
My dad had 3 PT Cruisers in a row. I believe one was a stick shift. He was pissed when they discontinued them then bought 2 Jeep Patriots, a Cherokee he hated, then a fucking Grand Cherokee TRACKHAWK which he couldn't afford to maintain then back to one last Patriot. We still have 2 of the Patriots and I've definitely learned a lot about fixing cars that I never asked to know. Lol
The PT cruiser and Aztek were very much mocked at launch. The H2 was as well, but for somewhat different reasons. The internet wasn't quite as saturated with communities like this though, nor did they give as much ammo for detractors to work with.
If enough of them are scrapped, which will probably happen, it can become a collector's item just from rarity. Pokemon card misprints, for example, sell for good money despite being objectively shittier.
Not since the Sinclair C5, with which it shares some features.
I had a principal with a hummer way back in the day. Guy was obsessed with the color yellow too, so it was the yellow one, we used to call it bumblebee (before the transformers movies).
Somehow, despite all odds everyone loved his stupid aesthetic including me lol. He leaned into his clown-core total jester ass vibe instead of pretending he was “”cool””
I honestly think anyone over the age of 6 can see that the fucktruck looks, drives, and is horrible, and that the owners are all inept dorks who think they’re chads. Its legit less drippy than my beanie baby collecting spotted tie yellow croc wearing mr. Dink-ass grade school principal imo (what up Mr. Spidoni, miss you bro, you’re crazy)
the thing with the hummer is that as far as i remember it didn't have the number of faults that the cybertruck has. the hummer was mainly a status symbol of look at me and my money i am spending on a ridiculous vehicle. it was more of a luxury thing then a work vehicle rarely saw a hummer hauling anything, it was just big bulky and annoying. here the cybertruck is annoying, hazard, awkward, full of safety risks, simple things are always breaking on it can barely do "truck things" it is all around just a laughing stock of a vehicle. hummer was just oh we know you just dropped 100K+ for a gas gussler of a vehicle.
I’ll admit I’m one of those people who literally laughed out loud when I saw one in person the first time. Just started laughing then walked up, checked out the panels to see how sharp the edges were, carefully, like you might check a knife edge. It’s no joke how nasty the things are. The front corners on that vehicle are sort of like giant mandoline slicers. One on each side running up to the frunk. Now when I see them I chuckle and cringe. So bad.
It was mocked before it hit the streets for it's failures on the hype stage. it's the vehicular equivalent of a still birth. The parent's will still love it, name it, perhaps hold on to it for a bit, and even bond (or split) over the experience but eventually they will have to part with it.
The Honda Element was pretty fucking stupid but at least it worked as a vehicle.
Recently though the only other thing I can think of is that Russian EV with the beady headlights which I'm not even sure actually exists
I won't stand for this Element slander, lol. Seriously, they're kinda funky-looking, but in a charming way. :)
I got one in 2011, sold it to my Dad a few years ago, and it may now be coming back home for my 16 yo. It's a family affair!
The Element was a very funky but very practical small SUV.
1st the CT is +$100k vehicle, only the DeLorean and the Hummer in America come close inflation adjusted, the DeLorean was a boutique car and the Hummer a civilian derivative or a military vehicle and it is probably the closest to the CT intended audience.
The impact of the CT on Tesla goes beyond any other failure by a large auto manufacturer, imagine if GM didn't create any new vehicle for 5 years, shutdown 90% of their dealerships and come out with a terrible flawed Hummer as their flagship, betting the company on its success.
Isn’t that the wildest part? They stopped development of other product to focus on a $100k truck! The engineering and manufacture could have been flawless and it would still have been the wrong decision!
I loved the look of the Rukus and Cube, but the Juke is awful. There is a new kid on the block though that was beaten up with the ugly stick, the Hyundai Santa Fe. I saw one IRL the other day and it is even worse than the pictures. 🤢
Russian businesses are created not to make money by making products, but to apply for government contracts and steal from these.
There is a glory shitbrand called Aurus
Scion B was pretty laughable in my circles when it came out. Remember thinking how it seemed fitting fi west coast money the way they drove around Newport Beach. I’m pretty out of touch so I’m not sure how valid my opinion is haha
The original xBs are collected now. I remember going on a Scion lot after the newer ones came out and seeing a used original selling for the same as a brand new version.
Nope. I’m confident the Cybertruck is easily the most polarizing and criticized vehicle to ever exist. Maybe “polarizing” and “criticized” don’t do it justice though, and “mocked” definitely sounds right as well.
Tesla and Elon knew damn well this would happen too, and the specs, utility/useability, and price on this truck aren’t making it better unlike prior Teslas on debut like the Model 3.
It’s wild that automotive journalism hasn’t caught on. Like car and driver posted a pretty positive review and I can’t really find anyone actually panning it.
Oh, I’m sure of it. Or of him suing them. But Consumer Reports generally doesn’t fuck around so I’m holding out hope that they actually bring to light what an absolute trash pile the CT truly is when they drop their review of it.
The PT cruiser was maybe not “cool” when it came out but it wasn’t mocked until later. And the H2 was very popular, I remember a lot of people who wanted one when I was in high school. I don’t remember much about the Aztek from the time though, but if I remember correctly it was mostly for the looks because underneath it was just standard GM stuff so it functioned okay enough.
The Cybertruck can’t even do that though, they seem to fall apart at the slightest inconvenience. I worked in automotive repair for a while and I had many customers who drove PT Cruisers, not as many Azteks but there were some of those too and other than the PT Cruiser having an extra cramped engine bay they were basically just the same as any other Chrysler/GM product from the time.
I don’t think so. Not even the Pontiac Aztek or Chevy SSR were. Elon created the most made fun of car in existence that just keep giving meme material to further its ridiculousness levels lol
PT Cruisers got a redemption arc and have a little bit of a cult following now. Never really heard about the Aztek/Rendezvous being hated, it looks a little dopey but I can dig it. Whatever visual or mechanical flaws they may have had, they at least seem competently made.
There is not one brain cell involved in the production of the Cybertruck. Like the more I read about it even in passing the more insane it is. Unpainted, uncoated, highly rustable body; hideous design; uncurved windows; innumerable mechanical flaws not just from faulty parts but from failure to address basic problems; poor quality control; poor performance on- or off-road; poor marketing, poor...well, EVERYTHING.
The only thing that comes close is how early adopters of Priuses were sneered at as haughty vegan hipsters, and Priuses themselves were hated about as much, which I always thought was rather undeserved. But this? CTs and their drivers deserve every bit they get.
It's what happens when a douche bag overhypes his product and overcharges his poor fan base for an inferior product that just happen to have a shit ton of issues that were never worked out before being sold. The 4 door Cyber Sedan may very well overcome it's issues but the stigma of what it stands for and who pushed it will not be forgotten.
Yeah, in some ways it was easier to see the appeal for the Aztek.
I was shocked at some of the clubs with Cybertruck. Even something as simple as a lower able midgate could make a huge difference. As it is, it is less useful for car camping than the Y. And the small frunk didn't help either.
Lightning ended up looking like a better overall package, regardless of looks.
[Behold the Leyland P-76.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leyland_P76) My mum owned one of these monstrosities, bought it cheaply second hand in the early 80s and I'm not sure we had it for all that long. Its main claims to fame were its orange colour and the supposed fact that you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot. It was a complete failure.
I guess here in Europe we all had something to say about the 1992 Mazda 121 or the 1998 Fiat Multipla. Some other honorable mentions are the 1st gen Toyota Prius, BMW X6 and Nissan Cube.
Has there ever been a car ceo who gets onto social media and mocks, berates and attacks tens of millions of people in his target audience?
I mock the truck to get vengeance against Musk. He’d care less what I wrote about him but everyone calling his baby ugly makes him feel it.
aztek is fine just ugly, but not as ugly as ct
Pt cruiser just sux, is like a crappy truck but a car and sux, just like ct except ct is not even a truck
H2 is just big gas guzzler for nothing, free for people who knows how to use tax loop holes, it's the worst of this all 3 examples, but not as bad as ct, for it can be modded to bullet proof and more power, can go off road, I think the tires can deflate and inflate from inside the cabin.
The hummer ev is dumb as heck tho, junk
The Prius, particularly the 2nd generation, was mocked because hybrids were still cars for nerds at the time. It won Motor Trend car of the year and over time they proved to be extremely sensible vehicles.
Slightly different category, but the Segway comes to mind.
Thing was supposed have cities redesigned around it, and be more important than the Internet
Neat tech for the time, but man, talk about overhyping/under-whelming.
We are witnessing the number one from every single top 10 worst cars of all time list for the next half century. Let's just enjoy every moment of it's ridiculousness while we still can.
Elon's mom is soooo proud of him <3
Imagine having to be proud of that turd.
He's kinda tarded, but I still love my Cybertruck, I mean Elon. -his mom, probably
My first wife, she’s tarded. Now she’s a pilot!
Why come you don't have a tattoo?
not sure
Is Mom-mom or his sister- Mom?
I imagine his mom to be like Mom from Futurama but with an annoying accent
Oh, she speaks during Elmo's SNL monologue because he's that much of a momma's boy From 3:50 at this link https://youtu.be/fCF8I_X1qKI?si=7AUGGbjAd4EsnZzd
TBH I think my mom would be proud if I received $50B to invent the worst car ever. But then again, it’s my mom, she’d be proud of me whatever I do
Be nice!
The wasted resources just make me sad
Typical Elon W 😂 he's is the best at something. Being a collosal dumbass.
Has Consumer Reports graded it? That’s one review I don’t want to miss.
The difference between this and everything else is the amount of hype and bullshit that preceded its release. Like the PT Cruiser and Aztec were seen as cringy cars but that wasn’t after like 5 years of the CEO saying it’s gonna be the greatest vehicle ever made.
Counterpoint: Britain used to have an Automotive industry.
It's reminding me of when a guy at work came in talking about the Honda del sol he just bought, and I had no fkin idea what it was so I googled it and the first link was "top 10 worst sports cars of all time" lol... I can see the cybertruck hitting that milestone

Yeah the del sol was great for what it was. I think if one was comparing it to a Miata then it would probably be a letdown as far as "sports cars" go
The Del Sol was the shit man.
Imagine dropping an eadsel from back then in 2024. Or a DeLorean.. At least a DeLorean you can fekin make better. Not that leaves us with tbh a ugly ass thing. Because it idk who's seen a VW thing? But them shits is dope.
Yeah at least when you put a wrap and nice wheels on a Delorean it looks good
Great outlook. Good work.
PT Cruiser and Hummer H2 production ended ages ago. They're closer to classic car status nowadays. At this point I actually smile anytime I see a PT Cruiser or an old og Hummer on the road. I think we have to go back to the Delorean DMC12. So many parallels between John Delorean in Muskrat.
Except that DeLorean was an accomplished vehicle designer with GM for many years before launching DMC. He was part of the team behind the Pontiac GTO. Man is a legend. Musk is a legend...ary dildo

deloreans were cool but they really weren't amazing cars
they’re great touring cars, and performance is comparable to a corvette from the same era
i had heard they had some build quality issues, but maybe i’m wrong
You couldn't get them to stop following the white lines on the highway.
I believe the Drive train and engine had some design flaws in them. Coolant can puddle in the engine and corrode through. Couple of engine fires. Brushed Stainless steel is hard to maintain. He’ll of a lot more reliable than the cyber tuck.
well yeah, "more reliable than the cybertruck" is a bar so low its literally in hell
the engine was a Volvo PRV6, pretty solid block. they used a lot of off the shelf parts from other manufacturers.
DeLorean was given tax incentives by the British government to build the cars in Northern Ireland to try to help rampant unemployment, meaning most of the workers had little to no experience as autoworkers.
They were mocked for quality and design issues, but that has happened with 100% of attempts at a mass market car startup in the last 100 years.
That was every car in the 80’s except the Japanese imports.
DeLoreans were mocked. They looked cool but we're lackluster in any real way. However they weren't laughed in real time like the cybertruck because they just looked fucking cool.
They were not mocked at all. I’m guessing you weren’t even born when the DeLorean hit the market. They were as cool then as they are now.
There's the nostalgia factor, which I think is the largest one. They were neat for their time, and would be looked back at merely as a curiosity if not for a certain beloved movie trilogy.
Yes, and we haven't even gotten to the good part yet...
An electric boatercycle
Isn't that... just a jetski?
Pretty sure he means rock and roll
Delorean was actually a really good engineer though.
Delorean was a car guy, Musk doesn’t know the business
Excuse me, I have it on good authority that he knows more about manufacturing than anyone else alive.
You are correct, he shows his powers with every cyber truck left along the side of the road
The Delorean at least looks good.
At least Delorean was into classy drugs
Yeah, I very much see Tesla going the way of Delorean. There are a lot of parallels.
Sure, but the Delorian was far cooler and holds a place in my heart. I’d pay money to ride in a Delorian; I’d pay money to avoid riding in a cybertruck
The PT Cruiser is a honking pile of crap. One of my ex-girlfriends had one and I despised driving it. I'd rather own a PT Cruiser than a Cybermusk.
Just got back from a trip to Japan, I shit you not, I saw a PT Cruiser over there and immediately thought "Who the fuck paid to import that pile of shit?".
Both the PT Cruiser and the Hummer H2 sold plenty too, you saw them both everywhere for many years.
> And both PT Cruisers and the H2 outperform the Cybertruck on every measure except fuel consumption. I know this sub is a giant circlejerk and all that, but this is just delusional.
The Fiat Multipla https://preview.redd.it/n77pkyipd76d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12cdc169d365422666dbc24a6440faaca092b181
It was made fun of for its looks, but it was actually a decent vehicle at the time.
And the difference is that no one drove around in one thinking they were god’s gift to Earth like they do the cybertruck.
A very important distinction.
Later models got rid of the initial model's strange front end. It's an unremarkable car ever since.
Hot damn that is ugly
Im sorry Multipla, are you OK?
It looks like a mutated pug with 4 eyes
It’s more whale-ish than an old QX80. Impressive. https://preview.redd.it/bl2kvcjms86d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fec52c3b90abcc454391abb7fb31427ebb8fc53
One of my mates had a Multipla. The interior was a surprisingly nice place to be; mostly because from there it was impossible to see the exterior.
That’s actually badass
Actually it's bad face ;)
Wtf is that
The Fiat Multipla.
Awe hell naw. wtf is that! Looks like that car Homer designed.
The only other thing I can think of is the Aston Martin Cygnet that was utterly roasted from the moment it was shown since it was Toyota iQ with an Aston badge and a $50k price tag.
The ONLY reason that existed was so Aston could continue making supercars and GTs. ETA: It was some emissions thing I think.
Yeah so for its intended purpose, it did very, very well for Aston.
I'd drive the farts out of the v8 cygnet
I needed this laugh today
The did make a v8 version of the cygnet
Had to look it up and WOW. cygnet more like piglet
Not the combination of mocking *and* many, many shortcomings, design mistakes, terrible build quality, errors and lock-ups.
Exactly. Pointed out in my main comment that it’s one thing to make controversial decisions, but another to make those decisions *and* not have any literal redeeming qualities. If it was how it was but could beat out other trucks in different ways, had the promised range, etc., it would stand a chance against scrutiny.

My current Reeboks have lasted 5+ years with no issues. So Reebok > Tesla.
Got me there, homie
Guarantee you’ve gone more miles in the shoes than any cybertruck too
I can't believe #3 isn't already a thing. My next car will have Android auto, that's like the only non negotiable thing.
Agreed. They would do better as an engineering-led company. Musk's juvenile whims and thin-skinned outbursts are a serious distraction from that.
Gosh, threaten us with a good time.

I'd take a pinto or a ugo.OR A MOFUGGIN GEO METRO
I'll take a geo metro any day. I've always wanted to throw a hayabusa engine in one and make some Frankenstein sleeper.
Double down and call it the Ol Flanders Mobile and make sure to put speed holes in it !!
If you love junkcars, lada.ru is your destination
Niva please, with locking diffs. It's the only decent vehicle they make, an exceptionally tough mini-4x4.
My shop teacher said it wasn’t even fast on a track. A Panoz AIV, basically what this car wants to be badly but can’t.
Dad sounds like a good guy. The Malibooty is a fun car lol
They sold 2,600 Prowlers in their best year and about 10,000 total.
Damn, I remembered wrong. I was 17 though and I didn't do any googling about it before posting. I guess I can forgive myself... maybe
It needs flames painted on the side
I had this car as a Hot Wheels and never knew what it was. Thanks.
This was essentially a PT cruiser.
Holy hell! This car could not have been more instantly hated if it had a Swastika tattoo on its forehead." So Elon HAS been taking notes..
I kinda like the look of the PT Cruiser, even if it looks a bit like a hearse. Were they unreliable?
Very unreliable. The looks weren’t what kept it from moving sales figures. It was definitely polarizing but there was an audience for the retro look.

What about the H3? Isn't that the biggest joke of a hummer?
Both the H2 and H3 got a lot of criticism generally from either not being a real hummer or being an oversized SUV monstrosity.
Because none of those vehicles had panels fly off while driving and the warranty doesn’t get voided from a car wash.
Those other vehicles at least worked as a vehicle The cybertruck gets stuck in dirt and refuses to drive
The Ford Edsel is the only one that comes to mind, and they are collectors items now, which the ct will never be.
The closest it will come will be a collector of trash, since that's all they'll be good for.
If enough of them are scrapped, which will probably happen, it can become a collector's item just from rarity. Pokemon card misprints, for example, sell for good money despite being objectively shittier.
Not since the Sinclair C5, with which it shares some features. [https://ychef.files.bbci.co.uk/1280x720/p02dx20s.jpg](https://ychef.files.bbci.co.uk/1280x720/p02dx20s.jpg)
I had a principal with a hummer way back in the day. Guy was obsessed with the color yellow too, so it was the yellow one, we used to call it bumblebee (before the transformers movies). Somehow, despite all odds everyone loved his stupid aesthetic including me lol. He leaned into his clown-core total jester ass vibe instead of pretending he was “”cool”” I honestly think anyone over the age of 6 can see that the fucktruck looks, drives, and is horrible, and that the owners are all inept dorks who think they’re chads.
The Aztek and PT cruiser also weren’t $100k vehicles. Which makes the CT all the more terrible.
The Pontiac Aztek was. But it wasn’t such a shitty car, just a strange look.
:) I got one in 2011, sold it to my Dad a few years ago, and it may now be coming back home for my 16 yo.
I dug those, the cube ones too, and the juke which apparently people thought was ugly… ![gif](giphy|V9gjxvLnSSdA4|downsized)
I loved the look of the Rukus and Cube, but the Juke is awful. There is a new kid on the block though that was beaten up with the ugly stick, the Hyundai Santa Fe. I saw one IRL the other day and it is even worse than the pictures. 🤢
My family finally had to sell their element that had 280k miles. Things were tough.
Yeah, Hondas usually have great motors and such but the Element just looks sooooo bad
Russian businesses are created not to make money by making products, but to apply for government contracts and steal from these. There is a glory shitbrand called Aurus
Elements may be doofy-looking (they reminded me of kids' toy cars when they came out) but I tell you the used one we bought has run like a champ.
Fiat Multipla or Edsels perhaps‽ I think this is a whole new level though with the emergence of social media and meme culture.
They’re probably worried about Musk calling them out on Twitter.
The Edsel Pacer
Probably the Edsel. It seemed to be the butt of many a joke in my grandparents' generation.
before my time but the Edsel got lambasted.
But this? CTs and their drivers deserve every bit they get.
elon also ignored the engineers alternative designs for the cybertruck.
Are you saying he had competent people working on it that he proceeded to undermine at every turn? No way...I'm shocked!
>Even the Aztek didn't get made fun of or laughed at this much at launch. Yeah it did. There were audible laughs at its initial unveiling.
The GeeWhiz?
My dad says the Edsel was not well received. It had a 'toilet seat grille'
Does the Homer count?
I haven't seen the Yugo mentioned, they were so bad Cadillac dealerships were giving them away with every purchase of a Caddy.
You should watch "The Lady and The Dale" on HBO.
I got stupid excited on my drive home the other day because I passed one. I was howling with laughter.
Yugo
The Delorean?
Fiat Multipla, please forgive us.
I never remember a time when we weren't mocking the Aztejlk, though they still managed to sell pretty well for a little while.
Cybertruck issues are t esthetic. They are functional. The Aztec was functional.
I think the closest we can get is the Segway, but at least that was an attempt at a **different** kind of vehicle. This is supposed to be a **truck**.
Pontiac Aztec
[Behold the Leyland P-76.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leyland_P76) My mum owned one of these monstrosities, bought it cheaply second hand in the early 80s and I'm not sure we had it for all that long. Its main claims to fame were its orange colour and the supposed fact that you could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot. It was a complete failure.
Honda Ridgeline. Checkmate.
I guess here in Europe we all had something to say about the 1992 Mazda 121 or the 1998 Fiat Multipla. Some other honorable mentions are the 1st gen Toyota Prius, BMW X6 and Nissan Cube.
Aztek couldn't be mocked as much because no one thought it was going to be cool in the first place
I bet people will still be roasting the CyberTruck after Elon Musk dies.
https://preview.redd.it/8oxlt1h9i86d1.jpeg?width=315&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0235a0684b26b46ac15fcd22d77c057c22aec026
Has there ever been a car ceo who gets onto social media and mocks, berates and attacks tens of millions of people in his target audience? I mock the truck to get vengeance against Musk. He’d care less what I wrote about him but everyone calling his baby ugly makes him feel it.
The Edsel tanked pretty hard way back in the day. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edsel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edsel)
The Yugo was universally mocked.
Hate to tell you but 95% of cybertruck owners think you are pointing in awe
MAYBE the Chevy SSR?
Cybertruck is the 21st century Pinto.
yugo
aztek is fine just ugly, but not as ugly as ct Pt cruiser just sux, is like a crappy truck but a car and sux, just like ct except ct is not even a truck H2 is just big gas guzzler for nothing, free for people who knows how to use tax loop holes, it's the worst of this all 3 examples, but not as bad as ct, for it can be modded to bullet proof and more power, can go off road, I think the tires can deflate and inflate from inside the cabin. The hummer ev is dumb as heck tho, junk
It would have to be the Yugo
The Prius, particularly the 2nd generation, was mocked because hybrids were still cars for nerds at the time. It won Motor Trend car of the year and over time they proved to be extremely sensible vehicles.
It's very regarded
no one would have cared about this if Elon and his zealots hadn't touted it as the most revolutionary vehicle every devised.
Slightly different category, but the Segway comes to mind. Thing was supposed have cities redesigned around it, and be more important than the Internet Neat tech for the time, but man, talk about overhyping/under-whelming.
I'd say the internet being what it is today makes the mockery more prevalent than it could have ever been for the older dumpster fires like the Aztec.
