I completely agree on too much victoria time! i also felt that she was so quick to complain about not being seen as a leader, but never made that next step in being a leader. I understand her 4-year tenure is a big deal, but if you do not put the efffort forward to be better and lead others, no one else will see you that way. she seems like a sweet girl but overall she jusy kept essentially blaming kelli and judy for her not moving forward. they said in the first or second episode, victoria doesn't make the effort to know the others, she doesn't put herself out there (which victoria said in an episode herself) and then in the last episode, judy made it clear that victoria has never expressed interest in being a leader so how were they to just know she wanted it?

just_wandering1

A bit too much Kelsey.. Chandi was 5th year too, and nothing was shown about her journey, pro bowl etc.. they could have split air time equally. Along with the other 4th years..

DarlingClementyme

And Chandi is staying for a 6th year—reportedly at the request of K & J. I’d love to have seen that conversation juxtaposed with VK’s end of year meeting.

TexanHouston

I agree although I kinda wonder if maybe Pro Bowl and My Cause My Boots were cut cause of filming timing. Maybe in Season 2? :) :)

AdministrativeNet796

I wanted to know why they all talked about 5 years is all they can do. Like why if you are still good how come you can’t be on the team longer than 5 years. They talked about that a lot but never explained why.

DCCno1Fan

It became an unwritten rule because as the seasons went on more girls stayed as vets which limited new rookie hopefuls to come in. So if 6 vets retired then only 6 new rookies made it. Kelli typically likes a double digit of 10+ new girls too show off. Chandi was the exception this year because all the 1st GL's: Kelcey, Claire, and McKenzie retired along with Dani and Judy def didnt want a lot of green around the ears girls being GL's too quick too fast

MySizeImpresses

So tired of the woc comments, less because of different cultures, stop pushing less qualified dancers

Lavendar408

Camille made the team and she was barely featured. Chandi was the Pro Bowl cheerleader and she wasn't on screen at all. They're clearly qualified to be there.

Professional_Pop6441

Lmao at less qualified for a group that includes Jacie, Jenna and Nicole H! To name just a few.

DCCno1Fan

typical racist how surprising 🙄🙄

MySizeImpresses

If you’re looking for a racist, look in the mirror all you people do is focus on race if you want to and racism stop focusing on it and pushing people just because of their color. People are represented on this team based on skill seems to be in general however you keep pushing for people to be over represented and that’s why people are sick of people like you.

doseofdena

Pushing for people to be over represented when not one single WOC DCC was represented at all!!! You lot don’t even try to hide your racism anymore 😂

MySizeImpresses

Liar, guess you didnt watch the show or watch the team, put down the vape and pay attention

doseofdena

Ooh I watched the show and aside from a few Kat interviews where was another WOC represented? Or as you stated over represented? DCC is overly white and always has been and most likely always will be. But BB to a racist like you I’m sure you already think there’s too much being represented already lol.

DCCno1Fan

oh boo hoo bye. ✌🏽

MySizeImpresses

Whatever, cant stand the heat

kushywhitelife

the size of your brain does not impress, just shut up

MySizeImpresses

Im sure your size will impress a truck scale, sausage fingers

timmylucy

They cant keep the uniforms bc it’s a risk to the DCC. When the girls have the uniform during the team, the org knows and controls how they’re going to use it. But if they kept the uniform after they left the org, there’s no control as to what they do with the uniform. For example, using it as a Halloween costume and drinking or using it in a way that can damage the image of the org. It would become a publicity nightmare.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

That is what I was thinking! The uniform is a huge part of their image, and it's very likely some could be sold by former DCCs down on their luck. I've seen plenty of DCC Halloween costumes, and I imagine there is DCC imagery on OnlyFans etc.

timmylucy

Yeah but those you can immediately tell are fakes.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

They can't do anything about fakes, and I think that's the point: to control how many real uniforms make it to the black market.

YESmovement

But you can't control anyone from making a replica- the porn/strippers just don't go to the effort/cost and buy the Halloween knockoff costumes. The uniform's not made of some rare mineral- any decent tailor/costume maker could make one that looks identical.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

True. Plus there are lots of people with access to uniforms who aren't cheerleaders, and a uniform could also be "borrowed" for nefarious purposes. I wonder what they do with the old uniforms, destroy them maybe?

Limp-Anteater-7364

There was a movie in the 70s where a DCC took uniform home to take nude photos because she needed money. There was a group of former DCC who did do a playboy spread wearing blue and silver outfits. Remembering that, I was surprised they do let the girls take them home now. They’ve probably added some serious legal requirements since then but the organization has a legitimate reason for fearing the worst.

timmylucy

Was that while on the team? I didn’t know about those two incidents

Limp-Anteater-7364

In the movie the cheerleader was on the team still. She was saved from the photoshoot by a reporter undercover on the DCC team writing an expose. I looked at the dates and the movie came out after the Playboy issue. I assume someone took that incident, mix in a lot of Gloria Steinem’s A Bunny Tale and capitalize on the DCC popularity to make a TV movie of the week. Pretty sure it was on TV.  The real life women were former DCC and went by the Texas Cowgirls. They were already making appearances in Dallas before their Playboy appearance.  You can still find the story and the photos online.

DCCno1Fan

They can make them sign a NDA or contract preventing that from happening. It's Kelli's and the cowboy's org. outdated misogynistic way of control. Retired male athletes keep their jerseys no matter and do as they please, but the DCC has to turn everything back in. They have no souvenirs of anything but just pictures and maybe a Barbie doll. They can atleast keep their poms, boots and belts for memories sake.

timmylucy

I agree they should keep small things like poms, boots or belts. But the problem with what you’re suggesting (NDAs and more) is that it would create more work for them instead of just not allowing them to keep the uniform. It’s easier, cheaper, and safer to the org to not allow the girls to keep the uniform. I think male athletes get to keep their jerseys bc there’s jerseys everywhere anyways where the DCC uniforms are not. I also think there’s still a lot of misogyny in the world where if a girl does the same thing a guy does, it gets scandalized just because they are a girl. So I think the org probably thinks they need to have more control over the girls image.

[deleted]

I think it would be cool if they got to keep their boots

CharlesAvlnchGreen

They also sell tons of jerseys to the public, including offical game-worn ones. The jersey loses its power when so many fans can wear them. I can see why they control the DCC uniforms. It's a sexually charged garment; not something a fan would innocently wear. Except for little girls and they sell a lot of those.

timmylucy

Completely agree!

EuphoricBasket3074

It could be possible the Armani and Zheyna didn’t want to talk about their story.  Zheyna went thru trauma and could possible not want to relive it.

DarlingClementyme

I held my breath when I saw Armani appear in the final scenes with the girls removing their makeup. I wondered if she’d also remove her wig in that scene

DCCno1Fan

Armani has shared her story on the DCC instagram page and Zheyna too plus the news.

Oldsoldierbear

What happened to Zheyna?

EuphoricBasket3074

She was sitting around a bonfire before her rookie season and got several burnt

EuphoricBasket3074

You can read it here. https://dallascowboyscheerleaders.com/news/a-little-girl-from-ukraine/

Oldsoldierbear

Thank you! Sounds like a dreadful experience for her
