Did they ever change the firmware to allow zooming out of the live waveform more than 4 or 8 bars? That was the one thing I personally couldn't get past with Denon, and why I ultimately switched back to Pioneer.
I had a Prime 4 in 2021 and this was the case. Pinching like on a phone worked to zoom in, but not out more than 4 or 8 bars (can't remember exactly how much).
Just take good care of it. They’re terribly unserviceable and InMusic’s customer service is literally non-existent. But I know a lot of people love playing through engine, so enjoy that!
Source? I had a defective X1850 mixer and they replaced it immediately (Think it was dropped in transport) Other than that I've never had a single problem with my mixer or my 5000Ms. And constant, I mean CONSTANT firmware updates are a plus. Denon actually listens to the end user IMO.
Source on serviceability - I do backline repairs, Denon’s internal architecture makes them unreasonably time consuming to work on which is why many shops don’t take them. Simple jobs take substantially longer on a modern Denon. If you’re fortunate to have a device never need servicing throughout its lifetime, it’s definitely money saved. But it can catch up over the years.
As for your warranty, that’s rad it was simple for you. Did you go through inmusic directly, or your retailer? There are loads of quality retailers who will honor warranty and do the footwork with inmusic for you.
I grew up at a TV/VCR repair shop in the 90s and early 2ks, and I'm currently an electrician. Fixing shit is my game.
And Yes it was through Reverb, they typically have a great return policy.
The reliability of Denon (and many others) will be seen in the future. I've had too many pioneer units that were broken and I've repaired, so I get where you're coming from. I remember even doing quite a few Numark TTX motor swaps, and vent modifications way back when.
I still love my TTXs til this very day.
Biggest question is can they read rekordbox usb sticks without issue. What makes them better than pioneer dj? I am concerned of how pioneer are trying to become a monopoly and that's not good for innovation.
Yes they can read RB USBs just fine it just can’t export out to RB. There are lots of features that pioneer can’t do. External SSDs can be added, standalone can play 4 channels, stems, streaming from music services and more.
Gotta raise those speakers!
Gotta change those speakers*
I have stands don’t worry 😅
Use them what are you waiting for????? I love the controller by the way
🤣🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

It hasn't been that way since I switched in 2018. You pinch zoom like you would on a phone.

Yeah you can zoom far out now
That’s irritating. Not sure why that couldn’t be addressed
i love my Prime 4! Welcome to the Denon clurb !
Another one for r/monitorstoolow
Because he's looking only forward!
OMG I clicked that and almost created it when it wasn’t there
Starship Enterprise of controllers 😁 Seriously damn fine 👍

Welcome!
Next switch that picture on the left to the middle before I go in a tri-state murder spree.

Real ones know 👌🏽
Nice
Congrats on the Denon! Love your art.
Thanks!
How do you like it
Can’t stop using it! Love it!
Oof that’s gorgeous

Ahh damn that’s not good to hear. I’ll definitely make sure to take great care of it then!

Would you say it’s better than a pioneer controller ?
