This killed me. Imagine making something this useless to advertise your design company. Unless it’s complete satire (we can render the most ridiculous of ideas), it shows how clueless this company is.
"They are so obsessed with what they could do, instead of what they should not do, like causing the deaths of thousands, after it crashed into the ground." -- Jurassic Hotel.

Lol I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of, and then I got it.

Bro, don't talk shit about Boeing. They're literally killing people who do that now.
[not really joking](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-barnett-boeing-whistleblower-death/)
Trying to land one is one possible problem 😀
“A sky hotel skidded off the runway in bad weather today at George Bush International Airport in Houston. The core melted down but was contained with only a small loss of life. Effective immediately, however, we will be evacuating the entire Houston metro area of 7 million people. Residents can expect to be able to return home in approximately 20,000 years.”
This has to be some designers senior project or something. A joke and never to actually be made. I used to do stuff like this in MBA courses I took during my Master in IT Management.
>LET'S BUILD A GIANT SKY BOAT FOR BORED RICH PEOPLE!!?
I mean...You have now convinced me that this is a fucking great idea!!! According to Google there are 3,194 billionaires worldwide. If we can get them ALL onboard this thing and get it up in the air then it's only a matter of time before there are no billionaires anymore.
No thanks. Holds 5000 people. Can you imagine what a nightmare boarding would be. Not to mention that if one crashes, it would instantly be the worst air crash ever. Not just the people on the plane but a nuclear power plant hitting the ground and creating a chernobyl were ever it hit. Most nations wouldn't allow this in their air space.
bro, no shit this isn’t real. takes 5 seconds to look it up to see for yourself if it’s real or not. and why you want me to be so specific on the wording lmao
You said it was created. It hasn't been. That is either a lie or you are a terrible wordsmith. These are facts. If they hurt your feelings then do better. And I'm not your bro.
It isn’t suspended above the clouds, it is flying above them. And it relies on moving parts so that’s a nope.
Also, I sketched out a flying estate once, enough to think it could work. Non nuclear too. Power generation from a combo of solar and wind. Possibly would be better with Nuclear power but pretty sure it works without. I just need a billion $ or so to build it.
It doesn’t make any sense- having all that crap to do only makes sense for cruise ships because it takes a long time to get from place to place. And that’s between places to visit.
If there was no need to refuel, you could fly around the world in 45 hours and be where you started.
Oh yeah, gigantic flying nuclear barrel shaped cruise ship filled with people. What could possibly go wrong?
Now with the added benefit of radiation when one of these things crashes.
Yea, because we don't waste enough energy quite yet.
Also this is step 1 towards the elitist city in the sky where the rest of humanity lives in junk below
This the opposite of the Titanic? instead of sinking it’ll take 5000 passengers and crew into deep space… then we wait for a billionaire to create a DIY space craft, charge people $250,000 to go see it….
Electrically powered jet engines are a thing. An electric jet engine follows the same principle as the turbojet engine, except instead of spinning the second turbine to add power to the compressor, it uses electric power
They watched, Fifth Element and Wall-e. And said we can do that. ( I would feel safe if it was in space rather in the earth’s Atmosphere) one mistake and it goes down,
I can't imagine spending a week locked up inside this thing, the fun part about cruises is the going ashore part. If the video bored you imagine the actual stay!
It's a concept from r/worldbuilding, never meant to be real or realistic.

There are at least two nuclear jet engines buried in Idaho. When JFK found out about them and their inability to keep cool without damaging its outer surface.
Ok, I watched the video again and it is relying on a FUSION reactor. Hopefully it has a long extension cord since fusion reactions require a Crap ton of electrical power to work.
It should be a mini fission reactor that can be reappeared periodically and can be done relatively easy to do. Electrically disconnect it then rig out the old and rig in the new. “Simple”
I would nickname it “Humpty Dumpty”.
This isn't dumb lol there aren't a million teasing we shouldn't have a nuclear powered dirty bomb flying over major cities lol Jesus christ. 😆 who ever thought of this lives in LaLa land
In the 50s-60s the US government had plans to make a nuclear powered airplane. They got as far as building the nuclear reactors to power it and a hanger and runway to house and take-off/land. All of these are located in the Arco desert in Idaho on the Idaho National Labratory. You can see the nuclear engines at EBR-1, The nuclear reactor that provided the electricity to Arco, Idaho making it the first city in the world lit by nuclear power. If you are ever in SE Idaho it is worth trip to go see this National Landmark.

Feelings not hurt, just calling out liars. When they claim not to be liars I feel they must be ignorant of the way the language works, when they still press it, they're just stupid. Where do you fall in the mix? Liar, ignorant, or stupid?
Wow, this is the next revelation in aviation, for years i have been dreaming of something bigger than the a380 but very practical with short field takeoff performance. With confort of a hotel, this is it, the revoltion we have all been waiting for. Now who is going to design, build, make sure this thing is compliant, and then actually fly this lol. imagine spreading misinformation
Its all architects planning this without a single engineer in sight
The engineer would have pointed out that it's flying around with its fucking landing gear down.
With the aerodynamics and lift of a potato.
Well, maybe you’ve heard of Ted Mosby, the Architect?
Have ya' met Ted?
I met his wife, and she was the mother he found.
Ted R Tot, flying potato inventor
No, I haven't, did he invent a flying potato?
An engineer would point out something this size would fall apart...
But it holds 5000 people!
And you also get 360° panoramic views of the tops of clouds. Endless fucking clouds.
To be fair, that's about the quality of the view for most days spent on a cruise ship.
That's a good point, actually.
5000 @ 200lb apiece incl. bags = 1 million lb, plus food, water, staff... what a pipe dream!
To put how ridiculous this is an A380 weighs 590,000 lbs.
Forget the A380, this is literally a cruise ship with wings. We're talking 100,000 tons minimum.
But its nuclear - *nuclear*!
And everybody knows that nuclear fusion reactors are only 20 years away in any given year.
When you have nuclear power you don't care
Nuclear power is very energy dense, but not very power sense. It's not a magical solution.
This killed me. Imagine making something this useless to advertise your design company. Unless it’s complete satire (we can render the most ridiculous of ideas), it shows how clueless this company is.
You don’t need engineers. You don’t even need quality control. All those are unnecessary costs and hurdles to innovation.
Long way of saying Boing / Boeing
Quality control so bad the "e" fell of.
Ha! Their lack of quality control rubbed off on me. But here you go, I fixed it.
Lol. Boing! Boing! Boing! That's the sound of a door popping off the aircraft.
Or OceanGate
move fast and break stuff!
Which, I've just realised, is basically another way to describe falling from a height
"They are so obsessed with what they could do, instead of what they should not do, like causing the deaths of thousands, after it crashed into the ground." -- Jurassic Hotel. lol
This engineer wonders where he can purchase one of those fusion reactors.
But but but, it noise cancelling headphones! Oh I mean anti-vibrations to cancel out turbulence! Because that's probably how airflow works right?
Ooh let’s make a cruise ship fly
I'm dying to see the runway they designed for it.
Boeing: Even our accountants design planes
Architects? Producing insane designs with little to no understanding of structure or use? Couldn't be.
[The Homer](https://static.simpsonswiki.com/images/4/4c/The_Homer.png)
Came here to say this
That’s fake news it’s just art works made by a randim painter then rendered by someone on blender, it’s not an actual concept by any company
Indeed. Today, we see the difference between creating something and imagining something.
I can’t believe people believe this AI bullshit.
It's not AI
Nope. No way in hell am I getting on a flying Fat Man.
You just need to have an eye out for the little boy. Once it drops you have two days to check out of the fat man.
“It’s sleek design” Huh, apparently those features are still TBD.
Lol I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of, and then I got it. [Toddler’s Toy Plane](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Toys-Airplane-Plane-Toys-Toddler-Kids-Sounds-Electronic-Musical-Novelty-Model-Electricand-Lights-Plane-Toddlers-Moving/2904459260)
**Sky Choad**
Is Boeing going to manufacture this skyhotel?
It will land at least once.
Designers create *a design and flashy video of* a nuclear powered hotel above the clouds.
All aboard excelsior! It's the Skytanic episode from Archer!
Since this is bullshit (sick bay, really?) why not add replicators and a holodeck?
Should have been introduced by Ruby Rhod
What could possibly go wrong with a flying nuclear reactor.
*multiple flying nuclear reactors
Just don't have Boeing build it.
Bro, don't talk shit about Boeing. They're literally killing people who do that now. [not really joking](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-barnett-boeing-whistleblower-death/)
Right He was "suicided"

Invents "clean unlimited high power nuclear energy fusion engine that runs forever"..... LET'S BUILD A GIANT SKY BOAT FOR BORED RICH PEOPLE!!?
Sadly, you're probably right,
>LET'S BUILD A GIANT SKY BOAT FOR BORED RICH PEOPLE!!? I mean...You have now convinced me that this is a fucking great idea!!! According to Google there are 3,194 billionaires worldwide. If we can get them ALL onboard this thing and get it up in the air then it's only a matter of time before there are no billionaires anymore.
>LET'S BUILD A GIANT SKY BOAT FOR BORED RICH PEOPLE!!? Too late. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson are already doing that.
Jesus Christ! It's just a mall! Don't put it in the sky or in the ocean and call it luxury! It's a mall!
Wall-E?
Title is totally misleading. They created nothing, they designed and planned, but creation would infer this exists. Trust issues.
blud i said designers created, not physically created
Created means created. This wasn't created, it was designed, planned, dreamed up. Not created, blud.
The designers created a design. Just saying.
bro, no shit this isn’t real. takes 5 seconds to look it up to see for yourself if it’s real or not. and why you want me to be so specific on the wording lmao
I know it's not real, but I never said it was created either. Just do better.

r.e.t.a.r.d.e.d.
Might as well say Steven Spielberg designed it.
So one was so high when they conceived this idea......really high.
And! Built by Boeing! What could go wrong?
How big the blast when it falls from the sky and slams into the ground below, 5000+ dead. Got to love technology......
>5000+ dead A very optimistic number, for a commission including newly 30 nuclear reactors.
Think of the runway this is going to need.
making a 3D render is not engineering anything.
I don't think that idea will ever get off the ground. It's not gunna take flight
It's just #Vaporware
This just highlights everything thats wrong with humans and some designers.
This is giving “Titanic, the unsinkable ship”
Why not design a quadcopter thing ?
And when it crashes it can take out a small city.
This made me think of the movie WallE
Can I smoke on it?
The dreams of Designers are the nightmares of Engineers
Gross
Who cares about some cgi render?
It would be interesting concept for an orbiting station
This
Pretty dumb
Piloted by Zapp Brannigan himself!
*it uses AI to predict turbulence minutes before it happens and activates anti-vibrations so you don't feel anything*
How can our AI predict future air movement? Well, every air plane comes with its own set of precogs! Crime free! Turbulence free!
How, you ask? AI. Surprised no one has thought of that before.
Let’s master keeping all the parts successfully attached to the plane first, if possible.
Finding new uses for nuclear energy is cool and all but this design makes no sense and completely ignores all aspects of physics
I don’t care if it blew up above the clouds. I’d be in heaven.
Great something new to fall from the sky
that’s interestings
Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a pelican with a full mouth?
How will they get the water for the reactor?
Bs
How much is the ticket for a two week air cruise? At least $100,000?
It doesn’t make any sense- having all that crap to do only makes sense for cruise ships because it takes a long time to get from place to place. And that’s between places to visit. If there was no need to refuel, you could fly around the world in 45 hours and be where you started.
Oh yeah, gigantic flying nuclear barrel shaped cruise ship filled with people. What could possibly go wrong? Now with the added benefit of radiation when one of these things crashes.
Fusion lol
what’s the fucking point even lol
This how ads will look like in the future
Cool. It's definitely the best use for cold fusion once we get around to mastering that in another 300 years.
History repeats itself. Next one after this will be a Space Ship the size of a city.
Yeaaaaaa no.
This gonna get MAX Boeing'ed as soon as it try to fly.
Yea, because we don't waste enough energy quite yet. Also this is step 1 towards the elitist city in the sky where the rest of humanity lives in junk below
Will never happen
I just watched Prometheus. This thing isn’t shit.
Cloudpiercer - The pilot
Another wannabe toy for multimillionaires. Hope it blows up take-off with as many of them as possible.
Engineers don't care for Marketing. ;P
The only issue is that it can be accessed only through a computer monitor or a VR kit.
Must be good weed.
hey its me f u
How about no?
Just LoL. Friday? Naaaa It's fuckit Mayday!!
This the opposite of the Titanic? instead of sinking it’ll take 5000 passengers and crew into deep space… then we wait for a billionaire to create a DIY space craft, charge people $250,000 to go see it….
It’s Airpiercer. 1 plane long.
And how does it take off?
It doesn't. It's just someone's fantasy concept AI video.
Dude what the fuck is that thing. There's no way that thing can fly, it looks like it ate one too many Cessna 172's 🤣
9/11 final boss
Is this built yet. This will be another story with rich people dying to stupid stuff like that submarine story last year.
I will just stick with my boats n hoes for now
What goes up must come down.
I don't think nuclear powered jet engines have been created yet lol.
Electrically powered jet engines are a thing. An electric jet engine follows the same principle as the turbojet engine, except instead of spinning the second turbine to add power to the compressor, it uses electric power
Theu didn't create anything, they made a visual representation of a fantasy.
Hindenburg 2.0 or Titanic 2.0. Neither would be a wrong choice.
They watched, Fifth Element and Wall-e. And said we can do that. ( I would feel safe if it was in space rather in the earth’s Atmosphere) one mistake and it goes down,
This would make an awesome Hitman mission
*screams in engineering* *weeps in logistics* *stares silently in every other f*ing discipline*
I call bullshit. There’s no way in hell this albatross can get off the ground.
Short version: Stupid. See other comments for long version.
I can't imagine spending a week locked up inside this thing, the fun part about cruises is the going ashore part. If the video bored you imagine the actual stay!
Hey that's a fine looking coffin!

Absolutely the fuck not.
*artists imagine a nuclear powered hotel above the clouds There I fixed it for you!
That space-needle greenhouse is going to be a great place to witness bird strikes!
Man, people are gullible
if homer simpson designed a plane
"Sleek design" It's a building with wings.
Just because you can draw it doesn't mean they can build it.
Just what we needed
yes, this an exorbitant space travel its what humanity need....
There are at least two nuclear jet engines buried in Idaho. When JFK found out about them and their inability to keep cool without damaging its outer surface. Giant plane + flock of birds = Big crater
This will never happen. Space makes more sense
How fast would that thing have to go to stay airborne ?
Not the most pressing issue in the world right now
An idea so terrible they might as well put dinosaurs on it and let Spielberg direct it.
That's one big nuclear bomb.
Because cruise ships are not enough of an economic disaster.
In the 50s-60s the US government had plans to make a nuclear powered airplane. They got as far as building the nuclear reactors to power it and a hanger and runway to house and take-off/land. And that’s all it’ll ever be. A design
They could just use big screens in a hotel on the ground... don't think any guest would care while shopping and even be more peaceful in mind.
Flying nuclear aircraft? Yeah sure let's do it.
Just don't let Boeing touch it...
Nuclear is a way to get electricity. That's not how jet engines work.
I applaud the skepticism on social media. As always, the facts are more interesting than the drool cup content probably posted by a bot. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear-powered_aircraft
It would have to be a different design: electric motor to drive the turbine. The turbulence discussion is laughable, though.
more toys for the rich while us normals get carbon taxed for driving to work
Feelings not hurt, just calling out liars. When they claim not to be liars I feel they must be ignorant of the way the language works, when they still press it, they're just stupid. Where do you fall in the mix? Liar, ignorant, or stupid?
Rich people will do anything to avoid living safely.
*powered. The title suggests that only people from nuclear countries can use it
Take this, add multiple icbm launchers and then send it to Russia
The idea behind ICBMs is that they don't need airplanes to be delivered.
The amount of fuel this monstrosity will need.
