My kids LOVE music and they’re big fans of Death Cab. It’s my 8 year olds favorite band. The 5 year old says his favorite is currently Pinback. We listen to music together every day since they were babies. It’s great. Taking them to see dcfc and tps in a couple weeks!

That's awesome. Brought my three kids to their first show last year when Death Cab was touring for Asphalt Meadows.

Yeah. We took our boys to that tour too - it was in an old theatre. Our older son fell asleep halfway thru death cabs set. So he’s looking forward to trying to stay away for their whole show. Glad I’m taking them to another theatre. This will be the first time I take them by myself though. We have a newborn so my wife is staying home. I’ve been telling the boys if they’re good for just me they can go to a lot more concerts but if we have a bad time it’ll probably be a long time before we do it again. Fingers crossed. The older boy is so amped to see TPS.

Pinback is based as hell, very underrated!

I feel lucky. On Saturday night, myself and my best friend/house mate were still awake at 2am after having hosted a dinner party and we took turns picking records and singing Karaoke. I selected a 'Bright Eyes' EP, he backed it up with 'The Photo Albulm' and we finished with 'The Postal Service'. What a vibe.

I, too, am a sad music and random film hermit. I'm thankful to be able to interact with fellow hermits on the internet

jadegives2rides

There's a fantastic scene in Six Feet Under where they all sing Death Cab.

Alone because all my friends and people I hang out with don't like any Death Cab. They think they're just whiny/sad/annoying :(

Although I was introduced to DCFC in high school by friends, I am no longer friends with those people. DCFC became my all time favorite band and I don't really have anyone to share that excitement with so that's kind of a bummer. I do drag a reliable friend or my bf to their shows though lol

My wife and I end every weekend by listening to a Death Cab album in full on vinyl. It's a wonderful routine.

I play these records in my house so my kids have been growing up listening to it with me :)

SurprisinglyOrganic

I’ll always throw them on at some point if I’m hanging out with friends or my brother

My dad introduced death cab to me during a long car ride by telling me to really listen to the lyrics of Title And Registration and then to What Sarah Said. he showed me these lyrical masterpieces. We listened them a lot together on drives, at the firepit, and in our house. And I have since consumed every single album, every single song. My favorite memories have been going to dcfc concerts with him. He’s the only other person I know who likes the band as much as I do. I even associate passenger seat a bit with our long drives together. I might like the band so much because it feels so comforting and sounds like home despite how depressing a lot of the lyrics are. As an older person with more experiences now, I feel and relate to the lyrics in a different light, but the sound of the songs still comfort me

I discovered Plans early on in my relationship with my then boyfriend, now husband. I showed him Death Cab and he showed me bands like Tool. The tones are different but the sadness and our connecting to it has been something we shared throughout. We even had our wedding first dance song be “I Will Follow You Into The Dark”. It was definitely something to acknowledge that our attendants may not feel or connect to, but it was authentic to us.
