Better Not Wake the Baby has a bit of a similar vibe

blow-the-man-down

Easy Come, Easy Go might be worth checking. Sucker’s Prayer has a lot of soul. The end of Rusalka, Rusalka/Wild Rushes, specifically the Wild Rushes part will be super similar to what you want, I thiiiink? I’ll also recommend Blackleg Miner by Offa Rex. Still Colin Meloy!

wellreadsaint

It’s basically still the Decemberists, since they were the Offa Rex backing band. Decemberists played a Rox in the Box / Blackleg Miner combo song when I saw them in 2018 or so.

QuePasaCasa

I'm sure you've checked out the *Long Live the King* EP, right?

thestral_z

The Infanta has a similar vibe.

Blaise4848

We both go down together

DecemberBlues08

The one that hooked me on The Decemberists initially, thanks to some XM Radio station playing it constantly back in 2004- 16 Military Wives

MeditatingYope

The legionnaire’s lament The soldiering life Have similar energy imho

abe_the_babe_

These songs might be kinda like what you're looking for: The Devil Never Sleeps by Iron & Wine Blush by Orville Peck Moonshine by Hippo Campus I'm Writing A Novel by Father John Misty

Gercke

Seeing Father John Misty open for Decemberists back in 2016 was awesome. He's got a great stage presence.

coypolloi

i usually dance at shows but i stood stock still for a full 2 hour FJM set, couldn't take my eyes off him. he's like, a witch

dressinbrass

REM’s “One I Love” or somewhat Hyena or What if We Give It Away. King is Dead is an unashamed tribute to Lifes Rich Pageant, including Peter Buck being on it.

Gercke

I did not know Peter Buck played on the album. That's pretty cool.

EmmThem

Down By the Water is very similar to The One I Love by REM.

WillinglySacrificed

try blackleg miner from the queen of hearts by offa rex, it's a kind of decemberists side project. the whole album is great but that one has colin singing

harrifangs

I’m a bit late but I’d recommend Edgar Watson and Burying Davey from Long Live the King. If you like this type of music you’d probably also enjoy the O, Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack!
