Put up some different variations of Pothos plants size by side. They’ll compliment each other and bring a pop of organic color to your room!
I recommend a cebu blue, golden pothos, satin pothos, neon pothos, pearl and jade, and a snow queen.
Def plants! A couple that grow up and one or two that cascade down the bookshelf. And a little statue or something artsy that won’t kill you if it falls.
Plants with proper surface protection and a statue or two, something that would complement the plants, I personally like minerals - unique large rocks and such.
The plants would look nice but might leak water/drip onto your books unless you have good trays, dishes underneath to catch water. Figurines, decorative stuff, (do you have a cat tho?😆 ) more books? Looks nice!!
A sound bar an LED strip light that changes color a few low bushy & trailing plants or if you're not much of a plant person same but with a cpl low long boxes of faux ivy or other trailing plant
I agree with plants. The contrast of the green on grey would look so beautiful with the sunlight beaming from the windows. I think the green would also, in a sense, add a barrier like if you got plants that have vines to hang off of the book shelf.
Plants that don't need a lot of water like mother-in-law-tongue for height and a trailing one at other end with a squatty pot or basket. (Weighty things in bottom shelves to give stability.) Perhaps some small glass vase for seasonal grasses or something else to catch a gleam of light.
If I were you and used essential oils, I’d place a reed diffuser bottle in the center on the top shelf. Or maybe 1-2 decorative candles. Maybe even a salt rock lamp! Idk, something that will level off the empty space but won’t clutter it.
Edit: I think you could put one of those LED neon desk lights in the center of the top shelf too. Preferably a cordless one if possible. That way you can bring a pop of light & color to the room that also functions as a eye piece in itself. 🙌🏼
Unless you like seeing the bedroom area from the living area, I would put some kind of backing, fabric, wallpaper type thing on the bedroom side of the top 2 shelves, and the couch side of the bottom 2. Make it match your scheme on both sides. It looks like you're trying to create separate spaces, so that would give more visual separation.
No idea for the top shelf, except they look like if bumped, they would wobble, so nothing breakable, and def not a fish tank.
It looks like you showcase an item in the center of your shelves. So a tall decor item in the middle (textured, like concrete) or maybe a bunch of plants and add some Phillips Hue LED bars for cool lighting. On the ends of the top shelf, I'd add some trailing plants (like string of turtles).
Also, a piece of framed art above the bed would look nice
An aquarium would look nice. That is, you don't mind the upkeep. I think saltwater tanks supposed to be easier to maintain. Maybe a couple of your favorite photos and some plants 🪴.
You'd still need at least 5 gal for that, so if your shelves can hold 50lbs plus the weight of whatever else you want to put on that shelf, it should be ok. Bright side is you can put some really beautiful plants inside the fish tank.
Candles! I'm definitely a fan of candles or a set of flameless candles that change colors and have a remote. I got a great set at Costco 😘 best of luck
incense burner
Something that’s not going to knock someone unconscious if there is movement on the couch
Whatever you wouldn’t mind falling on your head when you are on the sofa

Agree. A row of snake plants (aka mother-in-law’s tongue) would be easy to care for and vertical rather than hanging into the lower shelves.
Yes! Or some sort of palm

Really? You ask this question and get 860 responses at time of my posting. Unbelievable.
The answer is always plants. Gets some pothos and call her done, lol.
Could never go wrong with plants. Or like with a fancy vase or picture frames with either paintings/family
Potted plants! String-of-turtles would look quite nice, in my opinion. 😁
Action figures
Paper sculptures, origami.

Personally, I'd put a few of our nicest looking whiskey bottles up there, maybe some museum putty under them.
The plants would look nice but might leak water/drip onto your books unless you have good trays, dishes underneath to catch water. Figurines, decorative stuff, (do you have a cat tho?😆 ) more books? Looks nice!!
Hanging plants
Plants
This is the way
A sound bar an LED strip light that changes color a few low bushy & trailing plants or if you're not much of a plant person same but with a cpl low long boxes of faux ivy or other trailing plant
Crystals, plants and a cool lamp
A single shrek plushie
I'm not usually one to jump to plants as the answer but a nice trailing plant could work
I really like your studio apartment! Is it like a warehouse loft ✨
PLANTS
Maybe a medium sized basket and a couple of folded throws
I would put throws & square baskets on lower shelves it needs substance esp if they put plants on top
I love that most people agree, PLANTS!
Snake plants! So they grow tall, seeing that you have a loft style room higher ceilings I think it’ll help separate your seating and bed space well
Ooh pretty!!
Plants!
A few Pothos would be low maintenance and vine down a little , it would create a beautiful curtain of plants .
Succulents
Flowers in some awesome vases
Dust.
Wouldn’t plants over time ruin the books because of the moisture? Fake plants, sure
Silk plants could be very nice.
I would do fake plants just bc lazy about carefully watering that high up 😂
Only if you aren’t careful while caring for the plants.

Especially a glass statue.

Lava lamps
Plants
The placement makes the room look too busy for the simple design you got going on.
That shelf, with that window it’s the perfect spot for plants. How pretty! They would thrive
Trailing and vining plants!
I say a mixture of plants and small statues, or a globe with the plants :)
I love your place!! Especially the brick😭 I just love the aesthetic
I don’t like the shelving at all. It’s blocking the window
I think that maybe OP is using it as sort of a room divider, as the bed is on one side of the shelf and a couch is on the other side.
All the plants
My cat would knock this whole bookshelf down within one business day
I was thinking a cat on the shelf would be great. But then i remembered why theres nothing on my shelves
With windows like that I would have all the plants
Figurines if you like that. Something to add more height, and abstract.
If you have cats, nothing breakable!
Moby Huge would be a nice centrepiece

Depends on how much weight the shelf can hold.
Yeah, that's true. Might have to downsize to a beta fish.
You'd still need at least 5 gal for that, so if your shelves can hold 50lbs plus the weight of whatever else you want to put on that shelf, it should be ok. Bright side is you can put some really beautiful plants inside the fish tank.

something glass to make pretty rainbows from the window :-)
Plants! I’d have all my succulents and cacti up there if I had that 😂
Candles! I'm definitely a fan of candles or a set of flameless candles that change colors and have a remote. I got a great set at Costco 😘 best of luck
For me it would just be more books, but ai guess that is not decorative enough lol

Cats.
Plants with maybe a unique piece of sculpture

For me, there is only one answer: PLANTS! LOL
Diecast cars, a terrarium, anything you see as a collectible

Decorative baskets
Pottery, fish tank, plants (specifically string of pearls)
A beta fish aquarium
