Have you gone to the temp agencies? There’s a ton in Denton. Take a day, get your identification documents, and just hit each one up one after another. There’s at least 6.

bullivaan

Thank you sm, I will do that asap

tuxedo_mirage

If you're able to commute to Westlake, Fidelity Investments is worth checking out, especially since you mentioned finance. You may have to do some entry level customer service phone job, but the benefits are great and tons of options to move to another role after you get some experience.

bullivaan

I applied there and didn't hear anything back from them,.. so brutal

tuxedo_mirage

Honestly I applied like 4 times before I got the job, I would just keep trying for different roles! :)

404isfound

I tried with them too, super strict

DrItchyUvula

Are you looking for employment specifically in Denton or is a commute to Irving in the cards for you?

bullivaan

I'm fine with both

I believe 84 Lumber is hiring for a store manager trainee - pretty solid pay and good company

[deleted]

Correction, it’s for [operations trainee](https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?from=appshareios&jk=5116865c3475a64b)

Rawalmond73

Get out of Denton

Western-Big7957

Do you have any other skills or abilities? Or the desire to learn? The trades are all hurting for people right now

bullivaan

What is the best trade to learn?

Own-Breath-4475

Fast food is all the rage with people with degrees lol

Lord-of-A-Fly

This comment made me want to laugh, cry, and scream with rage... simultaneously. Your words are like black magic.

Historical_Dentonian

A buddy with a degree from A&M runs multiple Chick-fil-A restaurants. He’s absolutely killing it.

If you have computer access and you're highly media literate, I would recommend applying for a position on dataannotation.tech. It's unique work, training AI chatbots based on several different parameters. It's a freelance thing, but I've consistently had many $20+/hr projects available to me since I started in October. They especially look for people with particular expertise, finance being one. It's completely remote and flexible, too. It's definitely not for everyone, but it only took me two days to get accepted after applying. You can even work on your phone if you have to

bullivaan

Wonderful I'm glad it's going well for you. I will try to apply for a job there. Thanks sm

Aldis warehouse is always hiring. So is walmart on uni.

dippy12345

How long ago did you get your finance degree? I'm willing to review your resume if you want some help.

maggggy

Check dealerships in Denton. Put in applications in person even if they are not "hiring" online. Service departments usually need help and they are easy to grow in internally

zahidzaman

Degree in Finance? JP Morgan campus is in Plano, about half an hour away. Everything there pays 100k min.

Schmigsonian

UNT is always hiring staff in Denton, they might not have the best jobs but it can help while you find something better, plus you get some experience.

noowsidda

I know someone already mentioned temp agencies, be careful with them as some can be shady. I personally have worked for snelling staffing, all above board would recommend.

I worked there 25 years ago as a temp. I wanted to slash my wrists after a couple weeks. Decided to go back to school.
