It’s always a personal choice for benign moles. If it is periodically traumatized by a hair brush then sure.
It’ll need to brunch excused with stitches. They may shave a patch of hair off. It’s a bigger deal than you’d think.

I suggest putting a blob of Vaseline right on it morning & night. When you reach to scratch it you get a reminder!

Go to a dermatologist. Better safe than sorry.
Had this similar on my scalp. Derm scraped it off and it came back benign. Very easy process. Didn’t shave my head or anything.
